Friggin Fantastic... Extra Salty Awesomeness..... Â One of the things I miss is a good old fashioned dive bar. Â When we walked in, the place reeked of cig smoke and beach. Â Bar Rescue would of had a heart attack at all the stuff on the ceiling, the dark lighting and more than likely the patrons. Â We loved them. Â Potential Fire Hazard.. probably, potential fun factor.. off the charts. Â
This is a bar where locals seemed to hang out and are very welcoming. Â We went up to the bar to grab our drinks, which were not over priced. Â Don't ask for cucumbers for your Hendricks gin and tonic... seriously. Â Well, Suzie asked and the bartender and her just laughed. Â We found a great group of older ladies, sitting around a large table, cackling and smoking butts. Â I noticed that one of the patrons was seriously slumping in her chair. Â And they were all laughing and gesturing towards her. Â Upon further inspection, I discovered that actually, it was a dummy, which they had dragged in with them to keep them company. Â An entire bevy of jokes come to mind.. .including, I guess he was the designated driver. Â They were having the time of their life and lifted the mood factor of Salty's wonderfully.
They have a couple of pool tables and have a karaoke night once a week. Â That would be a blast to be present at. Â All in all, the smoke eventually got to us and we heading out after an hour of so. Â I hope they never change a thing.
We went here because of Yelp and because it looked like a cool dive bar. I think we might have been the only ones there that weren't locals but it was awesome. I loved the atmosphere and it was cheap ass drinks. The margaritas were strong and delicous. She made them herself, no mixes, which always awesome! The only downside is there is only one tiny restroom and it's damn near impossible to get to. I had to make a trip along the perimeter of the entire place to get to it each time. But that wouldn't stop me from going back for sure!
