It's under new ownership and goes by the name of Salt Point Lodge Bar & Grill.

We entered in here on a slow day, even by Salt Point standards, around 2PM on Sunday. Taking a ride and hike up the North Coast. Very hungry. Not the best way by which to judge, but even with our stomachs touching the back of our spines, we found this place to seriously disappoint.

    THE GOOD:
It's under new ownership. So they are still waiting to get their liquor license. No biggie. We were fine with water and sodas. Service was very attentive. But then you could almost fall into that one when we were 3 of 7 people in the whole restaurant. The place was clean and does boast a view of the ocean.

    THE BAD:
The food. I had the crab sandwich and I actually liked it. It was fresh and tasty. It came with homemade fries or a small salad. I chose the fries. The cook literally took a potato and cut it up (quaintly uneven) and deep fried it in vegetable oil. WOW. Our table also ordered fish and chips. The "fish" was terrible. It was two hunks of tasteless fish dipped in a light batter, soggy from the vegetable oil they cooked it in. And of course the "chips" were another sliced potato. Lastly, our table ordered a cup of clam chowder and a chicken salad promising feta, almonds, tomatoes, etc. What in fact it was was a very buttery cup of chowder leaving a glaze over her lips. The salad came and disappointed further because it actually was a bed of lettuce, with the contents seemingly taken from a Round Table Pizza's parmesan cheese packet., a couple tomatoes, a few strands of red onion, and 3 slim pieces of chicken smelling of vegetable oil. No almonds, no feta.

We went down the road with the nasty aftertaste of vegetable oil and butter in our mouths. Blah!
