It's a shame Sam Adams lets this place put their name on such a mediocre establishment.
I'm giving them 2 stars based on service alone; the food isn't even worth 1. I had breakfast here and tried to order eggs and potatoes, to which the bartender told me that they only have sandwiches because the eggs are "pre-formed." The girl next to me wanted to substitute her potatoes for a fruit cup, but was told she could only order it in addition to the potatoes (even if she was willing to pay extra).
The lack of flexibility makes me think the kitchen is a microwave and most of the food is frozen.
They did have a nice selection of beer that I didn't get to try and would consider going back for drinks only.
If you're hungry, avoid this one and hit up somewhere else.
Don't let the name fool you - it's still your typical airport bar food. Â I had the veggie burger and it was rather good, services in a pita wrap with hummus. Â The nachos were good as an appetizers. Â However, everyone else's food (salad and burgers were a hot mess. Â The salad came from a bag and the burgers were thrown together, likely frozen and tossed on a grill.
Review Source:I am really not sure what is up with all of the bad reviews - this is a bar/restaurant in an airport, not at the Ritz Carlton!
It was very crowded when I stopped in during my more than 3 hour layover, and it is kind of annoying that it is a "seat yourself" place. Â There were people hovering around, waiting on tables like vultures once the place was full.
My server was very friendly, she told me which beers were available and which seasonals they had on tap. Â The menu is pretty basic - I had a burger with pepper jack cheese, salsa and guacamole. Â The burger was a little over done for my taste, and it was really messy, but otherwise pretty good. Â It was served with a side of potato chips.
Since I had such a long layover and others were waiting for a table, I decided to ask my server for recommendations on other places to see in the airport. Â She was very nice and quick to offer places to go, but also said that I could stay as long as I would like and not to worry about the people waiting. Â I thought that was nice of her, since servers are obviously interested in turning their tables over.
I saw another guest walk out on his bill, which is really unfortunate. Â The poor server (a different one than mine) tried to find him nearby, but couldn't find him. Â I can imagine this happens a lot in the airport, and that may also be why the service isn't so wonderful. Â People - pay your tab and TIP your waitress and maybe karma will bring you better service next time around! Â I'm just saying.
My server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Unfortunately they didn't have much in terms of gluten-free options. Ended up going with the chicken Caesar salad ($10.99) but it was nothing spectacular. Bummed that they didn't have any ciders on the menu (not even Sam Adam's very own Angry Orchard).
Review Source:Average overall place to get some grub at in the Atlanta airport. Ordered the chef's special which was the chicken caesar wrap. Decent food that matches the stereotype of mediocre airport fare and obviously forgettable. Odd-tasting water. Friendly but rushed waitresses. I'd visit this establishment again to have a couple beers and some soup perhaps.
Review Source:Extremely mediocre. If you were hoping the Sam Adams themed airport bar would for some reason be better than the Miller themed one, allow me to shatter your hopes right here and now.
At the same time: yes. It's just an airport bar. It's not worse than other airport bars. It's just not good.
It's an AIRPORT BAR, people!! What did you expect!? ANYhoo, I was quite content. I had a slight layover and I was extremely ravenous, and I wanted a wine pronto. I walked and walked until I finally found my stupid gate, walked past this place because there were no seats....walked to some other bar&grill restaurant in the other side of the terminal and that place was standing room only, forget it.
So I trekked back to Sam Adams and lo and behold a seat opened up at the bar. THey had two or three people serving at the bar and they all seemed to be pretty with it, I got my white wine right away ( and I really...really didn't care how much it was). I was impressed to see a black bean burger on the menu. I ordered it and it came out quickly and hot. It was a nice presentation, with lettuce, tomato, avocado spread, and two pieces of warm pita bread, plus a bag of Lays potato chips. Again, I was ravenous, who cares if it's chips or fries. The spicy black bean burger was surprisingly very tasty, great portion and just enough. I don't think it was more than $6 or $7.
The female bartender brought me a second glass of pinio grigio and I was happy. I didn't have to wait long for a drink, they were really on top of it and this was the day before Thanksgiving, super busy in the airport. My bill was around $18, what I would expect at any bar in an airport.
Man I had to tip these guys outrageously to get the game on that I wanted playing. As a result, the service here is a resentful at their low pay and idiots like me who just want to watch the next big game before shuffling off to our flights. However, everyone is a lot happier when palms are greased, but man, where do we live? India? The beers and food are pretty good. I highly recommend the black bean burger.
Review Source:Awful. The menu has about ten items--six if you're not willing to eat overcooked hamburgers mandated by the state of Georgia. Â I don't do beer but they offered wine. They were out of the cab so I ordered the merlot (they only had three red wines). Â They served it in a beer glass because they were out of wine glasses. Â $15 plus tip for a second rate wine out of a beer glass. Â Run, don't walk past Sam Adams.
Review Source:Service is slow just like the airport's internet connection. Â The bar does not offer WI-FI; per staff the airport does but it's hella slow. Â It was busy but I feel that it may not have been as busy if people were getting their orders quickly. Â Most people were waiting for a server to return and take an order, fill an order, etc. Â At least a couple different people commented to us on their way out of the bar area. Â We sat on the outskirts of the bar, checking out the passersby on their way to their respective flights. Â FYI, the bar was packed with bartenders and only one runner/waiter?? WTF.
Two tall pints of Sam Adams IPA and it took more than twenty minutes to get the waiter over to our shared table. Â Additional ten minutes to get beers. Â Cost of two beers was just under twenty dollars.
In the terminal, beer bars have only a few options and this place has the most area and seating.
Dandy for an airport layover, but very busy as it is the only bar in that half of the terminal. Â Drinks are expensive, but it's an airport bar so are you surprised? Â Again, for service, it's a bar...in an airport! Â I wouldn't be a super attentive server if I knew I'd probably never see you again and you were going to leave me the 68 cents change from your 7.32 beer (Just sayin'). Â I hope none of the people complaining about the price ever have a layover in EWR, JFK, LGA, or the like...get ready for sticker shock my friends!
Review Source:Worst service for an airport location. Two people who came in after me were served their meals before mine ever showed up. In fact one of them was done and wanting to pay his bill before I ever saw my food. I ran out of time so I threw down $6 for my beer and left. I shouldn't have left anything. If you are going to operate an airport restaurant, you need to cater to travelers. Terrible! I was there for 25 minutes and saw two people served that came in after me. Very disappointing. I ate here once before without a problem but thanks to this.....never again.
Review Source:Stick with the beer and don't touch the food. The kitchen staff was so new and/or completely untrained that they couldn't get the simplest order out in any reasonable time. I had chicken Caesar salad. How hard is it to add chicken to a pre-made salad? Had to request cancellation before it appeared, 10 minutes later. At the airport, 5 minutes is an unacceptable delay in food because everyone is trying to make their planes. There were 7-8 other people waiting around for food for 10-15 minutes. I was amazed more folks didn't cancel.
Review Source:Mr. Boston, when did YOU get so fancy!? Â $7.00 for you, sir, mixed with apparently $1's worth of cranberry juice at this fine airport establishment.
I knew what I was getting into here. Â You don't drink cheap at Hartsfield.
I ordered one vod cran and paid quickly. Â I drank faster than I thought I could so when I received my change I ordered a second. Â When she brought me my second receipt I realized I first paid for a cabernet which although was still ridiculously priced for probably a bargain-bin bottle, I had saved over $1.
When I pointed out the discrepancy, noticing the receipts didn't match, the waitress seemed nicely befuddled, "uh, yea this is the correct price, I know $1 is expensive for cranberry."
I didn't ask, but okay... I'm taking these little plastic lime swords with me; they MUST be worth something! Â Off to my flight!
Walking through the terminal starving and thirsty, I somehow chose this place while I waited for a connection. As soon as I sat down at my dirty table, I immediately regretted my decision! At least the waiter came oer quickly and asked me what I wanted for my drink, I quickly ordered a beer, but then it took 15 minutes to get it!! During this time, and after observing other people's food (no fries, only chips, what???) I made the wise decision to just have my beer and go to chick fil a instead!
The beer glass was dirty, it was not filled to the top, and there were flies buzzing around all over and of course landed in my drink ewies ew ewwwwww!
Once the waiter FINALLY brought the check and gave me my change I scooted and vowed never to return! I love Sam Adams but this place I a crime against the brand.
Terrible experience. Waited over 30 min to have someone take our order. The bar was not overly full, we very easily found a table. I asked the bartender twice at the bar and twice at my seat if I could please place an order. The bartender smiled irritatedly and asked me to please sit down someone would be right with me. She then proceeded to take multiple other orders. My co-worker walked the entire length of the airport wing looking or another option, still no service. Finally I went to the grab and go next to the bar to get food. We got our food and still no service.
Review Source:Better selection of beer than most airport bars (except Seattle, where you can get Mac & Jacks).
As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is nothing special. The bruger came with a bag of Lay's chips and was just okay. Â If I weren't trapped in an airport, I'd never eat here.
Service is fairly slow and not spectacular. Ordered a small beer, got a large one, no effort was made to fix this or only charge me for the small beer. The beers are horribly expensive (even more so when returning from Mexico).
I've been doing quite a bit of traveling lately and I've grown very fond of airport bars. Airports have changed dramatically over the years and many of them resemble malls and shopping centers.
My people watching fix was satisfied while sipping on a Winter Blend at Sam Adams Brewhouse. I didn't eat but the menu looked interesting. What more is that there were plenty of screens to watch one of the late Sunday football games.
Although it was in one of the busiest airports in America, it was your typical bar seen. As far as prices are concerned, you're always going to pay a premium in the airport. I mean, they got you by the short hairs so they can charge whatever they want. It was cool. Nothing exciting and nothing disappointing... just cool.
Very small menu and very small portions, and to top it off, potato chips with your burger or sandwich, no fries. Â $12-$14 for a small burger or sandwich with potato chips, not a good value, even for an airport. Â If you like Sam Adams, get a beer here on tap, but go get food elsewhere.
Review Source:Getting right to the point, come here for a decent brew of your favorite seasonal Sam Adams. However avoid the food. For the price and quality you are better off getting a sandwich at one of the aisle vendors. Â If you want decent food, and have the time, Â try One Flew South in Terminal E.
Review Source:I tried the chicken wings with bbq sauce on the side. Â The wings were typical of what you get at bars. Â They were fried a tiny bit too much so there were a few bits that were dry. Â The sauce was good. Â I was impressed by the fast efficient service of the bartender. Â I had a plane to catch so I was in a bit of a hurry. Â I was on my way to my North Carolina bbq tour! Â Extra half star for great service. Â This place is pretty good for airport food.
Review Source:Great place to get beers in concourse C. Â Yes, it is a bit expensive, but same price as elsewhere. Â Good selection of Sam Adams and other craft brews. Â Food A-OK, with good soups. Â Best service I experienced anywhere in my unintended 6-hour lay-over; he was friendly, prompt and knew the menu which is good anywhere, but especially in an airport bar. Â I would probably even give it three stars downtown, but for the beer prices.
Review Source:Sam Adams beer is the best but don't expect the food to adhere to the same standard. Â Ordered the Alamo Burger and got what looked and tasted like reconstituted seal meat (it only comes well done) slopped with a couple tablespoons of cold chili ( aka hormel in a can) topped with a stale bun for $8.99. Â At least it came with an edible bag of Lay's potato chips. Â Hang on -- I think I see an Oscar Meyer hot dog kiosk across the concourse so I'm moving on to partake in a gourmet meal (in comparison) of processed, discarded, animal parts on a less stale roll ( yum!)...
Review Source:Located on Concourse C, Sam Adams Brewhouse mixes a pretty great bloody Mary, if, like me, you occasionally need some liquid courage prior to boarding. I didn't try any food, but the people around me seemed mostly content with their lot. One bonus: service is efficient and friendly, which can be a rarity at Hartsfield-Jackson.
Review Source:Absolutely the most courteous service I have ever had in an airport restaurant - hence 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately, the food is not great and severely overpriced. I asked for the chicken with brie sans bun, and got a bowl with a few chunks of chicken and some cheese swimming in cheese grease (like a soup), half a plate of chips (which I do not consider edible or food), and a pickle spear. I had asked for it on greens, and was given a little bowl of shredded lettuce by the very nice server. Price: about $14. If you're a healthy eater, go to Atlanta Bread and get a salad there instead. I won't go there again, even though the service was wonderful.
Review Source:Descent amount of seating for an airport bar/restaurant. A bar area and plenty of tables. I ordered the chili Cheese Dog, which was a regular sized hot dog and not bad airport price at $3.25. I ordered the Cherry Wheat Ale - which I really enjoyed. Nice subtle cherry flavor. The one down side was the price - $7.29 per glass. A little high, even at an airport.
