This used to be Larry's Hot Dogs and I "discovered" it then when visiting relatives who lived nearby (otherwise, I suppose it's a bit out of the way in Pepperell). Very good food, reasonable prices, friendly people. They didn't used to be open on Sunday, but this year they are. The hot dogs are great - I usually get that. The beans and potato salad are very good. Chicken salad and chicken melt great too. Haven't tried the frappes - am afraid of the number of calories- but after having read the reviews, I may try them! Â I think, when it was Larry's, it opened at 9 a.m. and served cofee and breakfast sandwiches. Only open 11 to 3 now, but still a great place!
Review Source:Great Meal Before a Jump!
I was starving before my first skydive over at Skydive Pepperell, and a quick search on Yelp turned up Sandy's.
I'm a big fan of loaded hot dogs, so this place seemed like a good bet. Â The menu is pretty extensive, and features some creative entries.
I had a couple hot dogs and a frappe. Â The hot dogs were OK, but definitely not on the same level as somewhere like Spike's in Boston. Â They were pretty small, and the toppings were also just OK. Â Still, I did enjoy the chili cheese dog with crushed fritos on top.
My girlfriend's cheeseburger was a bit undercooked. Â I didn't taste it, so I can't really offer much more than that.
The frappe was SUPER thick, and kind of proved that there is too much of a good thing. Â It was pretty much impossible to drink through the straw. Â
Still, I would stop by here again to try some other things on the menu.
Maybe before my next skydive....
This place is very cute, and easy to miss (and WAY out of the way in Pepperell!) But I'm so glad I discovered it, so that any time I'm back in that neighborhood I can stop by for some delicious food! They specialize in hot dogs and have like 15 different kinds. I always get a steamed hot dog with ketchup, mustard and tomatoes, and he always gets the deep fried bacon wrapped cheese dog. Yes the hot dog is wrapped in bacon and then DEEP FRIED, and then put in a bun with liquid cheese. It's actually pretty good, though definitely NOT good for you! We always split an order of the baked beans, which are very delicious. And of course we top it off with a frappe. Now, I dont usually like frappes, especially of the chocolate persuasion, because I just think they are too rich/sweet. However, here they make it with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate syrup, and it is perfect (though HUGE!). The staff there are also very friendly. Delicious lunch for 2 for under $20? SOLD!
Review Source:So living about a mile or so away I always noticed this place, but for whatever reason never stopped in. Today I did and I was surprised at how great it was.
It is a true roadside food shack serving hot dogs, kielbasa, wurst, burgers, sandwiches & soups. They also have an assortment of sides, drinks & frappes available. I went for the deep fried bacon wrapped cheese dog. It is exactly as you would imagine it. A regular hot dog is wrapped in bacon, then deep fried. They then fill the bun with wiz cheese like a real philly cheese steak and drop the dog on top. It seriously must have been one of the most unhealthy things I have ever eaten, but it tasted great. So as long as my arteries don't congeal this afternoon I think it was a good choice for lunch. I also had a side of beans which were great. Cooked just right with a taste that was a little sweet, but very tasty. Definitely the same one's you get at Scotch Pine Farm which has the same owners. The prices were super low as my dog & beans was  about $5. They also had daily specials so even better deals can be had.
Sandy's replaced Larry's steamed dogs. It too seems to have odd hrs for a road side shack. You'd think they would be open on weekend afternoons. The dogs are ok, the buns are not new england style, which to me is not a plus. I also had a side of beans. Overall the food was good, not great. Service was good. I wouldn't make a special trip to stop here, but if you are on 119 and need a snack, it's not too bad.
Review Source:We came across this place on one of our food trips. We were expecting Larry's Steamed Hot Dogs but found this instead. It's a cute little, neat looking shack in a lot with a far stand and some other things happening. Got a great deep fried, bacon wrapped dog (I swear I asked for cheese but maybe not) and a chili dog. They had lots of specials like 2 dogs for $3.00 on Mondays. The nice young lady working there couldn't have been any friendlier. They also offered knockwurst  (I think) and kielbasa as well as a great variey of burgers and sandwiches. If you're out this way (wayyyyy out of my zip code normally)  stop by this gem
