I love this place and I love all the waitresses!
I have gone to this location on a steady basis since I was in Preschool/Kinder.
Their salsa is MY FAV. Sometimes the service is slow but most days Erika (manager) is there by herself manning the floor solo. The female cook is the better of the few they have. She gives better portions and food seems to have a bit more care but into it.
Literally the worst Mexican food restaurant on the face of planet Earth. The food is absolutely disgusting and completely unrecognizable as something considered edible food. Overpriced horrible food. The horchata is undrinkable. If 0 stars was an actual rating this restaurant would be beyond worthy. I would rather eat tacobell any day of the week rather than this sad excuse of a restaurant. its nasty dirty
Review Source:It's been a few years since the last time I ate dinner here. From what I recall, the dinner menu was pretty good. Â Today, a friend & I met up here in for breakfast. The selection was good & looked appetising on the menu. But I was less than impressed with the meal itself. My omlette was overcooked & a bit rubbery. The onions & peppers were not cut up enough, so the chunks were much too large for an omlette. I will say that the potatos were great. Â My ice tea was very bitter, and for the first time in as long as I can remember I had to add sugar (instead of just a sqeese of lemon) to make it palatable.
Review Source:Uneven. Â Always at least good, sometimes great, but prices a tad high and service & atmosphere could be improved.
We've been coming here for years (or ordering take out). Â Sometimes the food is heavenly, but service is not great. Â I think it has always been a little pricey for a hole-in-the-wall strip mall taqueria, but from time to time it even gets worse when they decide to charge for chips & salsa (last time they did not) or make some other cut (you used to get a couple of fried shrimp on the side when ordering a prawn/shrimp burrito; now they charge). Â But, speaking of the prawn/shrimp burrito, it is wonderful and I am addicted. Â It is loaded with shrimp. Â The chips and salsa are great-- especially when they don't charge for them! Â Saritas quality is uneven but it is still worth a try.
The $5.99 breakfast is great. 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage and country potatoes is really good. Funny how I have to come to Mexican restaurant to really enjoy an all American breakfast. Ha!
The service is good! I only come for breakfast so I don't know how any other times of the day is?
This is our family's staple mexican take-out restaurant as we live in the neighborhood. At first when I was a teen, this place was just kind of bland and un-special, but in recent years I've come to like and yeah, even crave their food. I found a cure for their food not being spicy - pour on the salsa. Their salsa is delicious and chilled and has a nice kick to it. It's also different...well-blended with fire-roasted chilis and tomatoes which give it a rusty color. I sometimes just get the salsa and chips on their own. They are very efficient at taking orders and getting your food to you. We prefer to get take-out as the space is small and it feels cramped to eat there. If you like basic mainstream Mexican food that will leave you full and satisfied, that's what you'll get. Note that the menu is somewhat pricey. We pay about $60 for a dinner for 4 including tip (no drinks).
Review Source:I used to like this place, but in the last year they have really gone down hill. Â I've tried several times to see if they just had a bad day, but every time i've gone it's been bad.
1st- Their Salsa is the only good thing they have left on the menu.
2nd- We got the all you can eat breakfast, the meats were over cooked and I saw them use prescrabbled egg batter form under the COUNTER for my omlet, I got sick. The potatoes were just a pile of boiled crap with some onions thrown in, it was the most disgusting breakfast I've ever had. They never came back to see if we wanted more (all you can eat?)
3rd- Their Chili Verde and Colorado Sauce taste like they are from a can.
4th- They have gotten VERY SKIMPY on all of their toppings, like sour cream, gaucamole and melted cheese. Â
I now go to Pancho Villa's on North Main, it is WAY better.
I usually go to the seaside saritas which is ok, I prefer Papa Chevos though. Â When I visit the gramps sometimes he wants to go here. the prunedale saritas is dirty and the BBQ blows into the dining area. the shrimp burrito I had was gross fishy salty shrimp. lots of shrimp at least if you like quantity over quality. I should have gotten an enchilada or rock cod burrito like I normally do. the salsa was good roasted and smokey. I'd think about the chicken half next time, since they're obviously bbq'd fresh and when not choking on the smoke it does smell good.
Review Source:BEST SALSA EVER! Â I have also gotten vegetarian burritos which are good. Â A long time ago I had an enjoyable breakfast there as well.
HOWEVER - they use styrofoam to-go containers for burritios. Â Because of this I won't be taking out from them again. Â Same with the salsa. Â
I would definitely return if I had time to sit and eat there, and I'll just have to bring my own jar the next time I crave their salsa!
Lets start w/ the bad - -  do NOT get the table in the back close to the bathroom.  You may lose your appetite if someone lets loose in there.  It happened to us once & we always sit close to the front of the restaurant ever since  The smells really can't vent out anywhere but to waft out to the nearest table.  ew, I think I threw up in my mouth a little....
On to the good - decent food in a  "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere.  The taquitos are good, as is the rice & beans.  Chili colorado is yummy, but the absolute BEST thing at Saritas is the salsa.  It is absolutely delicious.  We pig out on the chips & salsa & then get more to pour on anything else we can.  You might have to take tums or zantac later, but it is SO worth it!
This is a totally competent Mexican restaurant serving pretty good food aimed at the Okie, white folk crowd. (We call our town Prunetucky for a reason!) They serve a fabulous chile verde; spicy, chunky, and moist. But, for the love of Buddha, Krishna, and Minnie Pearl, don't get it in a burrito!
I've come to realize in my older age (this was my birthday burrito lunch) that a woman looks better when she wears a support garment. Frederick Mellinger, the inventor of the push-up bra and founder of Frederick's of Hollywood, once gave a famous interview in which he advocated the use of various under garments to lure the prey. When asked what would happen once the garments had been cast aside, he replied that it was usually too late for nature not to take his course! I've decided that a foil wrap on a burrito is like a support garment ("body shaper") on a woman. It gathers all the ingredients together for that very important integration factor. It aids in heat retention which allows for more complete cheese melting. It helps to prevent burstage. And finally, by the time it's been cast aside, it's too late! Nature has taken his/her course, and the slab has been eaten!
I ordered the large chile verde burrito with everything to go. The price was $6.91. I knew I was in trouble when they handed me a foam clamshell in a plastic bag. At home, I opened up the clam shell, and there it lay; white and flaccid. It was shockingly obscene! It had come unwrapped. I struggled to push everything back into the right places, and re-wrap it, when, horror of horrors, I realized the damned thing had lettuce in it!!! It was awful! The huge amount of lettuce and tomatoes chilled the burrito-like imposter so thoroughly that the AMERICAN cheese was not melted. There was no sour cream, no guacamole, and no salsa fresca. I couldn't taste any beans at all. I don't think the tortilla was heated in any way. The only positives were the very well flavored rice and the wonderful chile verde. They did include house made chips, and a large cup of roasted chile salsa but the chips are not made from real, cut up corn tortillas. They are way too thin.
Their salsa is my favorite in the whole world! Â
When I go here I either get a large shrimp cocktail (no avocado) or fiesta tostada with chicken. Â Chicken flautas, carne asada tacos or shrimp fajitas are good also. Â Everything I've had here is really good. Â Are you feeling like mexican? Â This is the place to go!
A friend and I were driving back to Los Angeles from San Jose on the 101 and decided to check out this area. Mexican food sounded great on a rainy day so we decided to go with Sarita's. The place was packed with customers on a Sunday compared to the few other eating joints next to it, which were pretty much vacant.
We decided to get the Fiesta Combo because the people sitting next to us had such a delicious looking meal and told us what it was. You make your own fajitas with grilled chicken, beef and shrimp as well as veggies. One order is enough for 2 people, so share one if you've got company with you.
Oh and their chips and salsa are ridiculously good, we went through nearly 3 baskets of em.
