We really wanted to like Sassper's but unfortunately had a disappointing evening there. The service was extremely slow and half of their specialty drinks were not available. Not only that but they were out of Pinot Grigio and could only offer me one glass of Sauvignon Blanc since they were low on that too. The service was so slow that friends that joined us a few minutes after we got there didn't get their drink until we were nearly done with ours! Waitress looked half asleep and was completely clueless. We won't be giving it a second chance.

Came here on a random search for Tapas In Palm Springs.  Food was great.  We had the scallops, bacon jalapenos, a chorizo/polenta dish and an albondingas soup that was delicious.  The staff were great.  The owner chatted us up a bit, while making the rounds. Everything was good here.  It was a nice dinner.

We went to Sasspers when it first opened and back a second time the same week.  This location with other restaurants have struggled in the past so it was nice to see someone come in and offer great food, great service and reasonable prices.  We are going back tonight as well.  Generally with Tapas, you don't feel you are getting enough to eat... not true at Sasspers.  We are happy to give them a 5 star rating.

We really enjoyed this new "find"! Beer and wine selection was great! The menu was creative and the salads we had were delicious. We did have one little problem, the shrimp on  a kabob was not good. It smelled bad and tasted terrible. The waiter took it away immediately and gave us another selection with no charge. He was very apologetic and horrified by the whole thing. He did return to tell us that they got rid of all the shrimp that night.

Good food, reasonable service. They had two large birthday parties going when we were there, which put a strain on the service. Started with a tray of olives, toasted bread, and cheese. We ordered the heirloom tomato caprese, which was excellent; the cheese plate (minor grumble - the Serrano ham was in chunks, rather than slices) with two enjoyable types of cheese; the polenta, which was good, but spicy; and corn fritters, which were very good. We ordered the Malbec, but since they didn't have it, they substituted a very good Bordeaux at the same price. They had a guitar player doing Spanish style music. Altogether an enjoyable evening. Definitely on our list for repeat visits.

Great ambience - horrible service.  The first problem was that they couldn't make some of the signature drinks on their menu due to lack of ingredients; it went downhill from there.  We only stayed for drinks, and went elsewhere for dinner.  The manager (or perhaps owner) spent all the time we were there talking or texting on her phone rather than assisting the situation.   We won't be back.

This was great! Had a great server Noah! The food was real good. You have to try the Ceviche  and the shrimp polenta.  The only thing negative was the high wine by the glass prices. Definitely worth a visit!

My other half & I expected much better. We had heard good things and were so excited to try their tapas. We did like the trio that they bring in the beginning of your meal but everything else was not good, at all.
We ordered the Paella first- Rice was overcooked (as if it was rushed cooking) terribly over salted and swimming in oil broth.. Traditional Paella should be fluffy and moist, not like a soup. We told our waitress we couldn't eat it and she quickly brought us a new one, but it was exactly the same disappointment. We also ordered the sliders, and the meat was lackluster and overcooked as well. Lastly we ordered the steak on brushetta and you couldn't even bite through the steak.
We would like to try it one more time just to make sure they weren't having just an off night because it does have an interesting vibe and a good wine selection, but hopefully the chef pays more attention to his seasoning and timing with the food.

At last, a hip, trendy restaurant in the West Valley that actually has real live people an an active vibe at 10 o'clock.
Food is well prepared, tasty, priced right, and served graciously.
Our waiter, Noah, turned us on to a fab Spanish wine.
    Our new favorite place.

Sassper's is an oasis in the desert. It's true, there are no shortage of restaurants in the area but many of the nicer places are indeed national chains that cater to the more mature and wealthy clientele (every national steak house chain can be found here; not that it's a bad thing however...). The decor is modern and clean in a 60's style retro building. Live music is agreeable and the night we were there Barry played the piano and sang various songs that fit the foundations of what Palm Springs was founded upon years ago.

The tapas were good and varied, different than what you might find else where in the desert. Although most miss the mark on excellence and the dishes had inconsistencies with temperature control (soup had great flavor but was luke warm, paella seafood dry and over cooked, empenadas dry inside, etc), flavors were good. Wish they took more chances on spiceing some of the dishes up however but that's just my personal preference.

Drinks are good and a bit varied from other joints. They have a throwback to yesteryear with mosow mules, old fashions, and manhattans which is totally cool and hip once more. However, again, they miss the mark with not serving the Moscow Mule in a cooper cup, using drunken bartender cherries for the old fashion (maraschino cherries are a poor substitute), and not putting salt on the rim of a Salty Dog makes it just a Greyhound...

The independent restaurants I've been to in Palm Springs area are usually average and Sassper's exceeds those middle of the road joints. Service is friendly, attentive, and helpful and the entire staff is fantastic.

We had the pleasure in meeting David the owner and if there's a nicer, more humble, and sincere restaurant owner down here, I'd be extremely surprise. He's a wonderful human being and is off to a great start in this new endeaver. A great guy in all respects...

I recommend Sassper's for great service and a change of pace from the normal chains found in the desert. It's also reasonably price which creates a great value while dining out.

Had heard the buzz about Sassper's and decided last night to try it for 'girl's night out.'  We did not have a reservation, so we had a drink at the bar (ladies, try the "Pink Lady" cocktail--divine!) and they transferred us to a nice table.  Our waiter, Mark, was as good as it gets for attentive yet non-intrusive service, and he was a a pure pleasure which added to our overall experience at Sassper's.  Once they brought the complimentary olives, light hummus and French baguette slices, I was sold.  We had Mexican and Asian sliders and were actually full, but there are several other dishes I heard from others are excellent.  I'm looking forward to going back and taking my husband and other friends.  Dog Owners:  They also have a nice, private patio off the back where you can bring your pups to share the evening with you--thank you, Sassper's, for adding that feature, a much in demand option for us dog lovers.  This is a 'Tapas' Bistro/Bar--you can be just a tad hungry or ravenous--either way, you'll find the right level of high quality and well-presented dishes that will satiate you.  And the topper is:  It's very reasonably priced!  Run, don't walk, to Sassper's and enjoy the desert's newest happening night spot.  Check hours of operation and right now, they are closed Sundays and Mondays.  There is music on the weekends, and I even saw a few spirited people dancing.  Join the fun!  Located in Palm Desert on 111 next to Las Casuelas Cafe on the south side of the highway.

Sassper's is a new entry into the desert and a great choice for a casual, inexpensive dinner. Four of us stuffed ourselves and had some wine and our check was $100; there were some very tasty dishes, stuffed Jalapeño peppers, Gazpacho, and their pizza! I'm sure Sassper's will only get better and more creative as it gets "seasoned".

Nice decor... music on weekends.  Had reservations and table was ready when we arrived.  Great menu with many small tapas dishes.  Service was good with attentive server. ( Since it is tapas small dishes suggest they get busboy to assist clearing the tables)
Noise level in the front is a bit high.  Table next to us also had large party.  Will definitely return.
. Prices are reasonable and serving are appropriate for tapas restaurant.

I am loving Sassper's Tapas Bistro.  I have been three times since they have opened and each time is getting better and better.

The live music is a nice addition and the bar does a great job with classic and modern cocktails.

The food has ranged from decent to exceptional and nothing we have tried was below par.

I strongly suggest any of the salads, the steak and cilantro empanadas, the ceviche, the paella, and the sliders with the delectable truffle oil garlic fries.

The Meat and cheese plate, the gazpacho and the Spanish meat and chorizo flat bread are very good.

My only complaint on the corn fritters is I wanted a bit more bacon flavor and a slightly larger fritter.

For a drink you cannot go wrong with the blood orange mojito.

Well they said soft opening and they were right.  Food was ok and prices were fair..  the service was great.  Need to work on the space.. no ambiance and you need that to survive here the desert.   Will wait till next season give one more try.

Just what the desert needs a retro cool tapas bar that serves delicious food in a simple but swanky atmosphere. They use real table cloths, have a piano, etc.

The hand crafted cocktails are so well done. All fresh juices and these super trendy giant ice cubes really make your drinks better. Using the word mixologist nauseates me, but the bar tender has his bar tended right.

    Hits:
Salads- deconstructed Waldorf and wedge awesome
    Empanadas
    Corn fritters
    Sliders, truffle garlic fries omg

    Misses:
    Shrimp skewer
    Pizza
    Churros

Will totally be back, good service and fair prices too.

My wife and I visited Sasspers on the recommend adaption of a friend. What a pleasant surprise. A warm welcome, friendly and attentive service, great musical entertainment, and a unique menu. Try the caprice heirloom salad, American  and Mexican sliders and the spicy shrimp skewer. A light and different dinner option for all.

I was so excited to see this place finally open! I've driven by it every day for the last six months. The service was great our waiter was very attentive and all of the staff were extremely friendly. While the portions were small (which is what I would expect with tapas) they were perfectly priced and most importantly off all DELICIOUS! We had the Spicy Shrimp Skewers, the chicken skewers and the meatballs. They even bring out a starter with pickles, olives, cheese, hummus, oil and vinegar, with bread and pita bread! I can't wait to go back!
