This place is definitely off the beaten path but worth the trip! I always get a group together and make a day in the Redlands. If you can I would recommend getting there early before 11am if you're going on a Saturday. It can get very busy! Also if you're from Miami chances are some of your friends or co workers have been here so borrow their wine glasses to get the wine tasting for $5. Older glasses with Miami on them get you a free . If you like to much while you drink be sure to bring your own snacks as the ones for sale are super overpriced.
Review Source:We came here during the week and during the day on vacation. I think that coming here on the weekend would be a different experience because there would be way more people (it was pretty empty with only another couple and a group of people seated outside), we could have gone on the tour of the facilities, and it seems like they have some fun stuff going on like music and dancing on weekends. But, despite the fact I wasn't there to see this place at its best, I had a blast and I was so happy being there.
If you bring your own wine glass from a previous visit, you get a discount. The person I came with had glasses for all of us so we were able to do that and make a nice little trip out of it. We came here just for wine tasting and also purchased some cheese and crackers to go along with the wine. The tasting is pretty cheap ($9.95) for 5 tastings.
The ambiance is pretty too. It's fun to take pictures outside by the fountain and inside at the bar.
The service was friendly but there was only one person working the register and the bar so it was a bit slow.
The cool thing about this winery is that none of the wines are made with grapes. And yes, I had no idea that that was possible either....the definition of wine can be broadened to include any fermented fruit beverage...go figure! My favorite wines were the ones made with guava, mango, and lychee (I like sweet wines). I didn't particularly like the idea of avocado flavored wine and so I skipped tasting those.
One person I was with loved the wine so much that she bought two bottles to take home because she couldn't decide which one she liked better.
The parking is not a problem here because there is a lot. The place seemed to be in the middle of nowhere though so if I had been driving I would have made sure to get really good directions as not to get lost.
Each and every time I've visited, I've enjoyed myself. This winery is literally in the middle of nowhere but once you go inside, it's another world. Â It's a very chill spot for friends, families, couples, etc. You walk in to see a live band playing and people dancing in sandals. You can bring your own food however they also have BBQ which was pretty tasty I might add. For the most part, this is an outside venue so be sure to bring bug repellant.
As you walk towards the back past the outdoor portion of the venue, you will see the actual winery + brewery where the tastings take place. You get 5 wine samples of your choice for $10 which is NOT BAD. The best wines to try are Guava, Carambola and Lychee then you can purchase bottles, cheese, snacks, etc. I have yet to try the beers but I'm DYING to since they brew it themselves.
Prices for entrance, tastings and bottles are reasonable. On Fridays, they have karaoke. Overall, this is a great place and I can't wait to go back!
Great place! Even though it's a winery, you see families there with young kids. Very family friendly, good for a date night, or just a night out with friends. Their karaoke nights are so much fun.
BEAUTIFUL scenery. I recommend doing the tour. It's a one time deal, not much to see, but you still enjoy yourself.
Another bonus is that you can bring your own food! I've seen people bring full meals :) definitely a bonus. Tons of outdoor seating! never had trouble finding a place to sit. They do have crackers and cheese and a few other the things for sale. The times I've gone, they've had a BBQ going on. Not sure if that's all the time.
Overall great place! The staff is great!! :)
If you go north on this road for about 3 miles, you are AT the everglades. Â The winery is part agro-tourist attraction and part crop recycling. Â If you don't take the tour you will have no clue what is going on. (so take the tour, I am not explaining it here). Â You can get some lunch here and do some wine tasting.
Here are my favorites - Cat 2 and the Guava.
So exciting! We have a winery in Miami. Not a bad deal! Located in Homestead it is a tad bit bar from Broward but so worth the drive. First off it's not a typical winery, all the wines are actually fruit wines. Infused with guava, coconut, lychee, carambola. If you go i recommend the wine tasting. You get a souvenir glass and get to try 5 different flavors. My two favorites are the cocovino and the cat 3 hurricane (a mix of multiple flavors)
Besides the wine they also have Beer! You can do the beer tasting, again  with a  souvenir glass. But hands down the best one is the coconut flavored one. Try it, i'm telling you you will not be disappointed.
The winery itself is beautiful. They have a beautiful garden with a really pretty waterfall / pond filled with coi fishes.
If you haven't  been you NEED to go!
Our own Winery here in Miami !!!! How cool is that!!!! If you've never been, then it's a MUST to put on your list of things to do and go. A small winery but, very nicely done. and for $7 for tasting and keeping the sovenir glass, what's not to like? bring the glass back on your next visit and it's free tasting  :)
They don't have a restaurant or snack shop, only downfall, but they do invite a Crepe maker and have a BBQ guy come out every Sunday. Check the list of activities there are bands playing, Karaoke nights, and BBQ Sundays.
Great place to bring a date and taste wine, relax under the Giant Tiki, Â you can even bring your own cheese or bread. Definitely 2 thumbs up.
There are a lot of mixed reviews for this place, Scnebly's should look at the ratings and acknowledge they have a problem. It may be with a few individuals, but if they plan to stick around customer service is Key. Always. Â I was one of the lucky ones to have a good experience.
This place is nice but unless you live around the corner from it pack a lunch because its super far from Miami lakes there a hour and a half. Wine was okay a little to buttery/oily huge stomach pain the next day. The shark tank beer is good but difficult to swallow very filling. Had a great time with my gf but won't go out of my way  to go back. Suggestion to the company keep the wines simple however the guava is amazing !
Review Source:Awful experience! Â Complete false advertisement. Â First off, I don't consider wine made from mango and guava to be wine. Â My fault, I should have looked into it more. Â I guess I took it for granted, coming from California where we frequented wineries on a Sunday afternoon with the family all the time.
To start, I trucked the entire family the 1.5 hours down here to be completely disappointed almost immediately after walking in the door. Â I called ahead of time and asked if we could bring our own food, which we could, just no beverages, even water...I get it, they don't want you bringing in outside wine and so on. Â Makes sense, most wineries have the same policy and we were happy to comply. Â So we packed up a few snacks to pair with wine ie... olives, cheese, crackers etc... Â As we walk in with our thermal bag in tow...we are practically accosted at the front door by an employee. Â Mind you, the main areas as we walked in had about 50+ people in it and she yells, practically at the top of her lungs as she is b-lines it towards us "Sir! you can't bring coolers in here"...first it isn't a cooler it's basically a lunch bag and I called ahead of time and there was no mention of a "cooler." Â You would have thought we had a bomb by the way she treated us. Â She made us take all of our food out and transfer it to a brown paper bag. Â Really? Â You can't just take a look into the bag to make sure there are no drinks in there? Â Ugh!
If we hadn't driven 1.5 hours to get there and is my nieces wasn't looking forward to a hot dog so badly we would have turned around and left. Â We didn't bring enough for 6 of us to make a meal because they advertised BBQ on the property. Â Well, if you call a guy in the back throwing some Costco hot dogs on the grill and charging $6.50 a pop a BBQ then I would have to call you a liar. Â Not only was the BBQ pathetic but as we arrived at 1:30, they hadn't even started setting the food up yet. Â The website said 12:00-4:00...they barely had it going by 2:00. Â
We sat down at an outside table and started getting settled in and laying out our spread of olives and cheeses and just as we got comfortable a gentleman walks over and tell us the we cannot have the umbrella to our table open because it was too windy...um if it was too windy we wouldn't have sat outside as all of our stuff would fly away dude....it was a nice comfortable breeze. When we asked him why? Â He told us that it was "common sense"...really? Â That is how you treat your customers? Â Are you calling us stupid that we don't have the common sense? Â We were all seething by this time with all these stupid rules and my mother in law says (love her) "where are all these rules you speak of posted?"
We pack up and move to an indoor table and again got settled in. Â After buying a disappointing bottle of what they called wine (more like fruit punch) we decided to just go for the beer instead. Â How can they mess up beer right? Â So we order a taster flight. Â Once of the cups of beer was legit green, I was like "what is that all about?" Â the bartender replies, "oh that is still from St. Patrick's Day." Â Really? Â You think I want week old keg beer with green food coloring in it? Â Um No thanks! Â It gets better, we are having trouble carrying all these little glasses outside so the bartender finds us a box lid from something behind the bar to use as a tray. Â It was broken and falling apart but it would do for this task. Â The manager stops us mid trip and asked us if we could return the torn old box lid when we are done with it. Â Really? Â You want to keep this? Â You know what buddy? Â You can have it! Â How about you help us to our table, or better yet be a good host and follow us and make sure we are happy with the service and then maybe take the box lid out of our way. Â Geesh I have never worked hospitality before but I could think of a million ways to have handled a lot of these situation better...I mean it's "common sense" right?
Now to the best part, a stray, very malnourished Rotweiler approaches the tent and we as Rotweiler owners walk over to it to pet her and give her some of our food. Â We were just about to take her home with us. Â Well apparently this place has no tolerance and came over to scold us for feeding her. Â Her theory is that if we continue to feed them they will come back. Â Don;t you see that your customers are all torn up over seeing this beautiful dog practically dying? Â Nope, this dog was a nuisance to them and they needed to take care of it right away. Â They recruited the dweebiest guy in the bunch to drag her out into the field and shooo her away. Â I could have punched him right there. Â Maybe call animal control. Â She is a Rotweiler for God sake, she will get adopted immediately if we didn't take her right away. Â Well that just about ruined it for all of us and we decided to pack up and leave.
Ah Schnebly's your groupons are great. for $30 bucks you get admission, glasses and wine tasting for 2 plus a $15 credit to purchase something.
I've always wanted to go but always passed on the groupon since my boyfriend isn't much of a drinker. Little did i know that he purchased a groupon for me a while back but we never had time to use it. When we finally got to go for a birthday celebration it was packed. Usually when you have an expired groupon the value never expires just the promotion. So we went up to pay and showed our expired groupon, said we had an expired groupon  expecting to get the $25 dollar admission waived and some cost off of wine tasting, and instead they gave us 90% of the value (everything except the wine glasses since our friends let us bring theirs)
I mentioned it was packed- over capacity packed- Mr. Schnebly serving people kind of packed. Yes I met Mr. Schnebly at the brewery area that night serving and opening bottles, but not working the register which kind of backed up the one person who was... but alas you get the picture. The wine tasting area was full, so we threw our tiniest member into the chaos to merge into a spot. After about 15 we found a spot and our server was able to get to us. I mentioned it was packed right? well they had run out of tasting sheets so we all shared one and kept track of our wines. Since it was so crazy they let us try the entire menu instead of the regular tasting which limits you to table wines, so we were able to try the sparkling and dessert wines too! out of all the wines we tried that evening the sparkling passion fruit and cat 3 won my heart. Oh best part they still let us keep the glasses since it was so busy!
after our tasting we still had our $15 credit since we had no clue what wine we would want before tasting but the line to buy wine was crazy so since our friends really wanted to try the beers they brew (yes they brew beer too!) i offered my credit to purchase a pitcher. At the bar they let us try 2 of the beers. One tasted like coconut it was awesome but the others didnt care for it so we went with the sharkbite which was just as good. while we were waiting right behind me was a case of the cat 3 so i picked up on bottle and added it to our tab at the beer  bar how nice! Some of our friends brought their kids and they had a blast playing with the other kids that were there which was really nice. we didnt have to worry about what to do with the kids
now they have food there you can buy but I've heard its pricey, but you can bring food with you so next time i will be packing a dinner.
Long story short version: go with your expired groupon on a saturday night you might get the full promo value. Bring some food, and enjoy the place. Kid friendly if you care to bring them along
Absolutely loved it! Â I live in South Broward and it was a good 1hr+ drive, but sooo worth it! Â I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed their wines, considering they are made with solely fruits, no grapes. Â As soon as I saw the avocado wine, I said, "uh, no...how in the h-ll is that supposed to be good - it goes in guacamole!!!" Oh. My. G-d.....delicious!!! Â I did the ultimate tasting and determined my favorite was the Cat 3 Hurricane. You can bring your own food, but they also have a deli where you can buy sandwiches and stuff. They had barbecue style food the night we went. It was reasonably priced and very tasty! They had live music from 6pm to 11pm - the band played everything from dance, R&B/hip-hop to salsa and merengue.
My only complaint would be not of the winery itself, but of the "parents" that think it's OK to bring their children. Â I have 2 small kids (7.5 and almost 4) of my own and I would never bring them! It's like bringing your kids to a bar - yeah, calling DCF!!! Â These "parents" that did bring their children, weren't even watching them, so they were running around like maniacs and bumping into tables and people. Â Adults are there to have a good time...without their or other people's kids!!! Schnebly shouldn't allow children under the age of 12 on the property after 6pm (when it gets really good) and parents should know better than to bring their kids to a place where all they serve is alcohol.
Maybe it's a good thing they are so far from where I live. Â Otherwise, I'd be there every weekend and have a serious drinking problem, lmao!
Now, stop reading this review and friggin' go to Schnebly...and please don't be that a-hole parent and bring your kid(s)! =D
It was a nice place. We did all 3 tastings. The wine, the port/dessert wines and the beer. It's of course a very different flavor from regular wine being that there are no grapes in any of their wines, just exotic fruits.
Our favorites were the CocoVino (coconut wine), The Mango Wine, the Category 3 (delicious!), the Lychee wine & Lychee Sparkling wine.
There were other flavors like Avocado and some others but I wasn't a fan.
The beers were interesting too. We purchased a few items as well to bring back home.
I would def. check this place out if you're in the area.
The only reason I give this a 3 stars is that I am a major fan of wine made from grapes and of course the taste wasn't the same.
The water fall and gardens in the back were beautiful but they did have an area closed off for some kind of event. I would've loved to see the entire place.
I heard they do a barbecue in the back around a certain time which is pretty neat too.
Place was clean and organized.
After your tastings you get to keep your glass that's etched with the Schnebly logo. Â :)
This place is a little heaven...I love the fact that you ca go and disconnect from the real world, it almost seems as if you are taking a road trip to another state, it is far, but well worth it.
The wines are different and the beers are great, I would definitely make this a nice place to visit when you just want to relax and spend quality time with your better half or friends.
It is also a good place if you have little ones, they can run around and play while you sip on your vino...
Tip: do take your items to munch on, the food is not that great and a bit pricey... you can save a couple of bucks by taking your snacks....
Keep an eye on Groupon or living social, they have great specials going on....
A raise my glass to Schnebly...
Went for the first time with my cousin from a groupon purshased. Did the wine tasting on a friday night which is also Kareoke night.
Place is beautiful even if it is far for anyone that doesnt live in homestead. When we got their we went straight to the wine tasting bar. Got our glasses and to choose five wines from a list of thirteen. I choose AvoVino, Carambola, Mango, Cat 2 Hurrican Red and Passion Fruit.
Favorite were Cat 2 and Passion fruit. Wont recommend AvoVino or Carambola to anyone.
If you go eat before you get there or bring food because they dont sell food food there. I bought $12.00 cheese and crackers. After tasting my cousin and i bought a bottle sat outside and watched the kareoke performances.
We had a blast the only thing well change is the food and maybe bring bug spray. I dont know what the normal charge is because i had the groupon but i know they have info posted on the website.
We planned a birthday party at this place and NEVER AGAIN!! They say that there's NO COVER CHARGE before 6:00PM. What they DON'T TELL YOU is that if you come BEFORE 6:00 PM and stay, some A$$H0LE by the name of DAVID goes around CHARGING you a cover. Furthermore Davis was a SMARTA$$ claiming "The website says so because HE was the one who put it there". He kept on arguing and only not to ruin a birthday party we ended up having to pay.
We will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!! I've never been so insulted in my life!!!
He even came back to show me where the website says there's a cover after 6:00PM. When I tried to state the example of "If you hear a radio commercial that says No Cover Before a Certain Time that DOES NOT MEAN they will charge you if you got there early" to what he said "We're not a radio station".
BEWARE of this place. We have 17 people and their families who will never come here again.
Good job DAVID so-called-general-manager!!!
Tell me why do I have to pay $42.00 dollars to get into a place. where I have to purchase their wine and still bring my own food, just to have a glass a wine and listen to music?? Â I took my family over this past Holiday Season to check out this winery, what a disappointment. When I found out from the Manager that you must prepay to sample wine and he didn't reveal that price. Well that was it and by the way the food that you can purchase there;$9.00 for six Asian Chicken Wings. What the heck are Asian Chicken Wings?? All the wines at Schnebly Winery are fruity not my glass of wine. There is no Merlot or Chardonnay's. A true disappointment after about 30 minutes my family and I left and went to eat somewhere else. They can keep their $42.00 dollars. I will not return, Of yeah you can purchase their wine at your local Publix Supermarket for about $5 dollars less.
Review Source:I have had a trip to Schnebly on my South Florida Bucket List for years. A couple of weeks ago, my roommate took her family there and her mother bought a case of the wine which comes with a special VIP card, earning you free tastings and tours every month. She was nice enough to lend me the card to take a trip to see what it's all about for myself.
We got there at 11 because it's never to early to start drinking on a Saturday, right? We immediately were lead to a bar where we got to pick 5 different wines to try. As we sipped, the bartender explained the varieties and what made they all different. After our tasting, we wanted to go on a tour but had a little bit of time to spare. We did the only logical thing to do and made our way over to the beer counter to give that a try. Johnny attended us and let us try every beer, including his 50/50 special and even a special concoction he made using a sparkling bottle of wine. It was a different kind of beer that was not my favorite, but unique to hear about. You can tell he's very passionate about this stuff and that they have high hopes for future growth.
Then it was time for the tour also led by Johnny. He is definitely a character and it was pretty interesting to hear about the place, but be prepared for it to last at least a hour.
We left with a bottle of the Lychee and CAT 2 wines. I would've liked a bottle of the Boo Boo but truth be told, it can all get pretty pricy! Overall, definitely worth a trip out to the Redlands. I'd even be interested in venturing back again for a Friday or Saturday night... It's a great spot for a picnic, music and fun evening.
The place is absolutely beautiful, especially at night or on a beautiful sunny cool day. They have the largest Tiki hut I have ever seen and a waterfall for some good pictures.
The wine is at best okay. Some love it and some can simply drink it because it is there and there are no other options. Prices are high for bottles but very native South FL for a northern friend.
The drive is too far out in no man's land.
The food selection is sad. I would think they would really step up their chesses to pair with the wines and have a good selection of crackers, breads and fruits. Chocolates would be nice too. You can bring in your own food if you like.
I am going to go back on a Friday night as I hear that is a lot of fun.
The wine is interesting. I am not a fan of sweet wine or alcohol. This wine is sweet. The wine isn't horrible, it is actually really smooth and has body, but I'm just not into the sweet stuff so I can't really give it more than 3 stars. They also brew beer and have some interesting beer flavors. The place is chill and the people are nice.
Review Source:Enjoyed my visit here!
Enjoyed tasting the different wines, although I don't remember having any cheese to go with the samples!
This place would be an awesome place to take a date to. I personally thought it was pretty cool how they had areas set up so you could bring your own lunch/dinner, candles, etc.. to make it as romantic as you wanted!
Would definitely go again!
My husband and I have been here on a few occasions. Only during the day, so I cannot comment on their evening activities. There are days when we just feel like being tourists and head to "the country". Â
The wine is okay. I'm not a beer drinker, but I did the tasting and they were not bad. For me, because I like fruity. My husband on the other hand, did not care for them.
The venue is nice for spring or winter events. Â I can't imagine hosting an event during our muggy Florida Summers.
Now, I gave them an extra star because the staff has always been really friendly. During our last visit, Josue went out of his way to accommodate. Â If you're in the area, I say go ahead and visit. I wouldn't go all the way out there, just to visit the winery though. Especially at night. It must be a really creepy drive in total darkness.
Brenda was an amazing wine pourer and quite helpful. We tasted unique wines at this vineyard, none of which were made with grapes! Their unconventional wines are made with avocado, mango, passion fruit and lychee, for example. If you like sweet and/or white wines, then you'll love the wines at Schnebly.
They also had quite interesting Beer. The Fan Fave (and my favorite too) is Johnny's Special 50/50. This mixture is half Coconut and half Mango beers, also brewed onsite. Sounds weird but the flavor immediately transports you to the Caribbean!
Aside from the nice interior of this winery, they also boast extensive grounds for parties, weddings, karaoke or romantic settings. I was there on a Friday night and got to enjoy karaoke and BBQ, cooked onsite.
This is a hidden gem, only 25 minutes outside downtown Miami. It's definitely worth visiting!
Really nice surprise that we have this place in South Florida. Â Gets quite crowded on a Saturday night. Â They offer a live ban, and BBQ food for sale. Â If you are a red wine fanatic (such as myself), don't get your hypes up. Â Their wines are primarily white wines (nontraditional). Â Regardless if you are a fan of their wines (and now they have a brewery), you can have a good time here.
Review Source:I agree with Justin T the previous reviewer. This place is a complete waste of time. Its out in the middle of no where and the wine is mediocre at best. Â I personally thought all of them tasted awful with the exception of Hurricane WIne. Â Even if you go using a Groupon the best thing you will get out of an evening here is a semi nice wine glass that is yours to keep. Then again I would hesitate using it and being subjected to questions from family and friends who want to know about my experience here.
Some of the reasons I rate this place so badly
Location its like your at a friends backyard(if they have a nice backyard). Thats all it is  a nice backyard.
Value You have to pay a cover charge to get in and then pay again for the wine tasting.
The actual wine tasting which was unorganized and chaotic. Its the equivalent of being at a club at 1am  going up to the bar and tying to get the bartenders attention.
Do yourself a favor if you like WIne go somewhere else. Miami has plenty of other wine events and tastings that are way better then this one. If all else fails go buy a bottle at Publix and take it home with you. I guarantee your experience will be better!
So I finally had to check out what all the hype was about. Â Went there on a date thinking it was going to be a romantic place for us. Â While we had a fabulous time together, because the company was great, the winery, the ambiance and their wine left much to be desired. Â Here's the caveat - I admit I am a wine snob. Â So on a scale from 1 to 5, I would say that all of the wines I tried rated from 1 - 3. Â Also, it was hot and muggy outside and there was a lot of noise with a bunch of kids running around and the karaoke blasting from across the patio area. Â So, it wasn't a very romantic setting. Â Maybe we just picked a bad day to go there for a date.
As for the location -- it's off the beaten path for sure. Â No, better said, it's far as hell (unless you live in Homestead or the Redlands)!! Â And the drive to and from there is really creepy especially late at night. Â The picnic tables under the large tiki hut area has a dancing area and a small stage for bands and the karaoke. Â I think it might be a lot more fun going there with a group of friends, bringing food and drinking beer. Â Oh yea, forgot to mention, they do have their own homebrewed beer which is their saving grace. Â When I return (it's worth giving them a 2nd chance), I will opt for their beer.
What a waste of time! This so called winery was a joke from start to finish.
First of all, the place is in the middle of nowhere. I had been hoping that the ride out from Miami would be worth it, but in the end it proved to be a huge disappointment.
After the ridiculously long car ride, we got in line to pay for our tasting and tour. Once we made our way to the bar, we ended up waiting 10 minutes for the sorry excuse for a bartender to even acknowledge us. He was so hung up on these three girls that he simply ignored us. Eventually, the bartender from the other side of the bar came to help us out and treated us very well.
Unfortunately, the service that the other guy gave to us didn't make up for the fact that the wine was just a grade above awful. Only a couple wines stood out, like the Hurricane 3. We actually bought a bottle with a credit we had.
Once the tour started, bad turned to worse. The tour guide looked like he had just woken up; his hair was a wreck and his clothes hanging sloppily off of his body. He ended up talking so much on the first part of the tour about such irrelevant things that we snuck away from the tour once he tried to make a lame joke about his over-active bladder . . . Yes, he really did.
Anyway, the place was a bust for my boyfriend and me. We have been to a lot of wine tastings and another vineyard, so we were a little prejudice because of far better experiences we had already had. However, some people seem to have had great experiences here, though. If you go, I hope you are one of them.
This is a wonderful place to visit. You can bring your own food and have a picnic on the beautiful grounds. My wife and I usually do that and do a wine tasting at the same time. Once you buy your first wine tasting, you get them free for life as long as you bring back your glass (which is a nice wine glass engraved with "Schnebly's.")
They also have beer, which they brew from tropical fruits.
The two downsides are that the beers and wines are very sweet and that the place is very busy on the weekends. If you are a Miami local though, there is no excuse for not visiting this place!
Love the location!  In the middle of Homestead/Naranja - felt like we were a million miles away from Miami.  They feature  wines that are not made from grapes - because of some legality of some sort. I didn't pay attention. Â
The wine is good. Â We're finicky and we liked all but 1 of them. Â And the 1 wasn't actually bad - it just wasn't as good as the rest. They have avocado, guava, star fruit, and so much more. You have to take the tour or get the tastings that they offer. Their prices are very reasonable.
The service is uh, I'll call it "rustic relaxed." Â Everyone else would probably call it "slow." Â LOL Â But, they do let you order bottles of wine for your table so you can still get tipsy if they're taking too long between the 1 oz tasting pours. Â I think we were supposed to have 5 pours but I'm sure we sampled more than 5 wines. Â We just weren't good at remembering which one we had just tasted... Â ;)
They don't have a selection of food here so don't come expecting to eat. They do have cheese platters with crackers and make burgers and hot dogs on the weekends or was it just Friday night? . Â
On the plus side, you can bring your own picnic basket filled with food. As long as you buy the wine inside. No other drinks allowed.
On a Friday night we went with a couple of friends and the entrance fee is ten dollars but you could stop by the Walgreen's or Publix in the area and buy a bottle of their wine which is $10 and get in for free as long as you show them the receipt. One receipt per person. You cannot buy two bottles and put them on the same receipt. I loved that they do this because you practically get in for free with the purchase of the wine. Or you can look at it as paying $10 to get in and you get a free bottle. YOU CANNOT take the wine bottle you purchased inside. Trust me I tried. LOL!
That Friday they had Karaoke and dancing. Very lively. They seem to do this every Friday night. You might want to call ahead or visit their website.
Fun for a visit. Â Nice place to bring out-of-towners who don't believe there are vineyards, in South Forida. Â Cheers!
It is my third time coming here. the place its gorgeous vibe is hip and believe it or not the place its in the middle of nowhere, yet all three times that Ive been here its full and people just keep coming in. On Saturday they have live music from Carlos who sings amazing songs from salsa, merengue and music we can all appreciate from the radio.
The dance floor was packed and everyone seemed to be having a blast. I found the best spot for a date in this place, but i will keep that to myself  ;) . Now they recently introduced a Bar-B-Q section which is nice, and besides the tapas or ordering food you can get some burgers, hot dogs etc....
As i was having a small chat with David the manager of the winery, he was letting me know that since the weather wasn't that cold this season there are not that many lychee trees flowering this season. They are still selling some wine from last crop but he did mention that y mid summer it may be hard to get some. So if you appreciate their wines, specially the lychee which its their best seller you should purchase some no that its available.
The winery overall is very clean, very well kept and the waterfalls are just captivating and just brings out the romantic in you. This place its lie spring for birds, if you have a husband, girlfriend or partner make sure you two head over to the winery and enjoy a great evening, you are bound to have one there.
Finally made it to this great place!
I had a very open mind coming here knowing most of their wine would be too sweet for me or fruity. Â We just came to check it out and enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Â As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very lovely hostess who directed us to the cashier after telling us how it worked with wine and beer tasting.
We first purchased the wine tasting, walked over with our souvenir stems to the wine bar. Â A very nice guy gave us our forms to fill out saying to pick five wines to try and then he would pour one at a time. Â He explained the different flavors etc... Super friendly service. Â We tried five different wines, which none are made by actual grapes. Â They are all made with fruit that they grow on premise. Â Lychee, mango, passion fruit, avocado's, guava, etc....
Although this is not my style of wine at all, we thoroughly enjoyed something different. Â All I could think about is how much my mother would love these wines. Â Next up we walked around viewing the very pretty outside, lined with picnic tables, benches, high tops and another beer tasting bar. Â The tree's and flowers were ever so pretty, the little ponds filled with many large fish, the huts for private events were so cool.
They told us about the live music on the weekends, sounds like so much fun. Â The outside is just so relaxing and pretty that I could totally see hanging out here at night enjoying a fun filled evening. Â Only one issue driving home. Â To bad they do not offer a shuttle bus in which I think has been mentioned already.
This day they had a catering company come in to offer BBQ, we bellied up to the beer tasting bar, got another set of souvenir beer glasses and tried the beer tasting. Â We ate pork and ribs, in which both were very good, no complaints. Â Funny I do not like guava at all and this was the only beer I actually liked. Â The beer is like the wine made with their own fruit.
This is something different to do and spend a great afternoon here. Â The only thing that drove me nuts was hubby and I were walking around and were slammed into by several obnoxious kids running around like lunatics. There was many families with strollers and toddlers. Â I do not have a problem with bringing kids here as it can be a great family spot but really kids that young that are so out of control. Â Hello, they bother other people that are trying to enjoy their peaceful day. This is and should not be a place for such young kids because it can put a damper on your quiet romantic time.
Hubby and I had such a wonderful time here together. Â Every single person we encountered was amazingly friendly and so helpful. Â Great place to check out for a very fun afternoon all except the monster children!
I'm feeling fruity...and I LOVE IT!
The cash register is right to your left upon arrival because these guys are confident that you want their wine. Let me tell you, they're right!
You do the wine tasting in order to see what you like best (category 3 and Lychee are amazing.) The employees there serving the wine and beer are really exciting and knowledgeable, at least mine was. After that, grab your favorite bottle and enjoy.
The tour is best when, how do I say....inebriated.
I've been there twice and let me tell you, worth the drive, worth the prices, it's different, it's daring, it's damn good wine, and no one should ever waste damn good wine.
So glad I finally drove the distance to see this place ... very very pretty at night. Lots of waterfalls, small bridges, tiki huts and flares. Music, lots of people having a good time - it was fun. I was actually surprised by how many there were, and how they seemed to be regulars. Almost everyone had brought lots of picnic basket food and there were many birthday cakes ...
Everyone has described this in detail so I'll stick to my main points.
1) while the crowd was great, I was (like others in earlier reviews) taken aback by how many kids were running around (seemingly unsupervised) in the dark, all over the place. With so many adults around drinking, seriously???
2) good wines overall - my favorite was the AvoVino. Although I can't see it as anything other than a good novelty, special occasion wine - the price range does not move it into my regular rotation. Plus fruit wines tend to disappear a LOT faster -
3) The tour was ok, the guide incredibly enthuasiastic but I would have liked to have seen more. The cold room was cool though -
4) I thought the hamburgers were ok, but $10 is a lot for hamburgers that aside from being grilled in front of you are reminiscent of the school cafeteria. Oh well, it's a captive audience. Which explains the extortionist prices on the cheeses, etc in the tasting room cold case. A larger variety of food would be good though, for those novice, clueless first timers ... who don't bring their own.
5) My main issue was with the tasting room. Incredibly packed with only 2 people helping out maybe 40-50 at a time. They were nice but so overworked trying to get to everyone. The way it worked, each did a half circle down the line over and over. The tasting was 5 wines. We finally got to the bar after about half an hour. Once there, it was another half hour till we were done. Waiting all that time was pretty off-putting. I don't see why they can't have tiny shot glasses at the ready and give everyone their selections all at once. Others I've been to have done it that way and it works much more efficiciently, imo.
6) Maybe I'll go again once they start selling the beer and making tropical fruit vodkas ...
7) Last but not least, the wine glasses they give out are HUGE~!
For a sweet, sweet girl like me (at least when it comes to my taste in wines), there's nothing better than a winery whose specialty is tropical fruit. It's like they had me in mind!
The atmosphere is an additional bonus, as the waterfalls, palm trees and koi pond make for one hell of a relaxing set up.
I'd been here once before for an avocado festival, but we returned recently to enjoy some tastings. The "ultimate" tasting includes five wines, and I absolutely chose the perfect five for my personal palate. The best part is, even if you don't like super sweet wines (which I do), there are plenty of other options.
My faves: cocovino, avocado, lychee, category 3. All sweet, all delightful.
My companion chose dryer, less sweet wines (avovino, and some others I can't recall :), and enjoyed his immensely.
Our server was totally nice, too, and hooked us up with some free tastes. We also got to keep the glasses (which, inanely, say "Miami")
This place is what the tropics is all about, and I'd come back anytime. They do have a membership program I'm seriously considering - free tastings every weekend!
What a better way to kick off my birthday weekend than to go wine tasting with my grandmother! Why else would you drive out to the middle of nowhere?
The place is gorgeous with all the waterfalls and places where you could sit and enjoy a bottle of wine with friends. We wanted to try the table wines which by the way is $9.95 and the other tasting is $7.95 and you get to try five different kinds of wine they offer. You get to take the glass home and if you bring it back your next tasting is just $5.00.
They have the most exotic wine flavors ranging from avocado all the way to passion fruit. My favorite was the mango and sweet avocado! Word on the street in the next year they are going to start a brewery as well, which should be cool.
Different events are happening all the time and you can even arrange to have a private party.
I left with a bottle in hand and a smile on my face!
I've been here a couple of times already (most recently at the World Guinness Book challenge for Guacamole last year) but today was the first time I took a wine tasting. We went on a dull weathered Sunday but thankfully the rain held off and our company were not bothered by the little bit of drizzle in the air.
The courtyard here is very nice and neat with lots and lots of shady areas to sit with tables and while away the afternoon. We had a walk around, fed the fish and then we figured that as we were here we should at least TRY some of the wines so we all opted for the regular tasting @ $6.75 each.
Now get this...this is an AWESOME deal. Each person gets to sample five wines, but the guys are NOT dicks and if one person checks a wine that nobody else has, then they will give everyone a sample. So all in all between three of us we pretty much got to taste all of their wines (except the sparkling wines which have an extra charge). BONUS is that you get to keep your glass and can bring it back for free sampling next time. Which would be great if you lived just down the street ha ha.
The wines were very different and I'm sure not to everyone's taste. My favorite was the regular Avocado followed by the Lychee. The last time I was there I was somehow drawn to the Avocado for some reason thinking it would be the one I preferred the most. I've seen the wines now being sold at Publix and Whole Foods but was always wary of buying them until today when I sampled them all and I DID end up buying a bottle of the avocado.
Our bartender Manny was a sweetheart. Funny and informative and kept us laughing with his antics, even though we were fusspots and kept asking him to rinse our glasses.
The great thing is, is that they allow you to bring outside food in. BUT NO COOLERS.
So Like Marcos said...bring a sack lunch or some bread and cheese and fruit and have a lazy lunch. They do sell cheeses and salami and stuff but it's a little on the expensive side.
They have live music on a Friday night but I wish they had music on a Sunday afternoon. That would be so great and a huge attraction.
