I happened across the scoreboard when working in imperial beach. I just wanted a beer after work and discovered the $1.00 tacos on taco tuesday. Tried a lobster taco and I have tried a few other items on the menu and they all are good. The phillie cheese steak is the best I have ever had. The club sandwich will feed a family of 4. I love this place!!!! The decor is a bit old, but that does not bother me with food that they serve. It is fantastic.
Review Source:went there with two African-American friends, and was refused service. Claimed I was a) an ABC agent and b) drunk. I was neither but I learned if you want a piece of good old 1960's racism you don't have to head to Santee for it. Would give it zero stars if possible. The bartender looks like he's part of the Hitler youth.
Review Source:I would give it 5 stars but I'm a craft beer drinker and the only IPA on tap was Stone so I had to drop a star. However, for bar food they sure know what they are doing! Just a few of my favorites: pastrami and cheese, French dip, mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders! Karaoke was entertaining and it's a good warm crowd!
Review Source:Great place to hang out at, especially on karaoke nights! Its mostly a crowd in their 40's...Not a big fan of country music, but I really enjoy listening to it when I am there. Haven't really tried the food, but the beer is pretty cheap. I will really recommend going if you're around IB and have nothing to do on a Friday or weekend night.
Review Source:Growing up in Imperial Beach, one thing is for sure - The Scoreboard is a landmark in our city. Like Ye Olde Plank Inn, this bar is one of the forever surviving businesses that ... thrives ... with the local crowds.
I can honestly say though, even living in Imperial Beach for so long, I had never gone into the landmark until recently. So what did I think? First, I was pretty amazed at the "Normal-ness" of the bartender. In my head, this place always drew up images of cycloptic, biker-like thugs, out to rape women and murder men. Thank god I was wrong... for the most part. The bartender was actually a friendly guy happy to serve us any kind of booze we wanted. Mind, blown. It may have been the bar was nearly empty, but either way - it was great service.
Overall, I wish I frequented this place more often. For being such an iconic spot in IB, I would have guessed more people did also. Little secret drink: this random Coffee Shot they do - $1 of sweet and eye-opening goodness.
i will never eat at this place again. meredith our waitress was the worst and rudest person of all time. i will be telling all my friends about yhis no class waitress who obviously was having a bad day. everyone was in shock how rude she was. the scoreboard is good for the drinks and joe is cool but this lady needs her daily fix. tweaker!!
Review Source:I've been going to The Scoreboard for years and have always gotten great service.
I'd say 90% of the time the food is amazing. Occasionally the cole slaw has no flavor or something isn't cooked right. The service is great that if you tell them, they will take care of it right away.
The pizza, ruben, grilled cheese and pork wings are my favorite things on the menu.
I've only eaten breakfast there twice and wasn't impressed either time. It's a lot of food for a good price though.
The drinks are cheap and the beer is always cold. Karaoke on Wed, Fri & Saturday nights and tons of tvs to watch your game.
Excellent drinks, excellent food, excellent prices, excellent service. Â Definitely my favorite bar in IB (and there are a lot of bars) and possibly San Diego. Â Sometimes the crowd is ghetto, but the benefits totally outweigh the drawbacks. Â Try the Philly Cheesesteak, and biscuits and gravy if you get there before noon on the weekend.
Review Source:Stop number three was the scoreboard yay. Â We stopped here for a bit. Â Saw some friends yay. Â Chatted a bit, possibly drank. Â The bartenders here are pretty cool. Â The set up is a bunch of coolers for beers and they have a full bar as well. Â I swear every time I come here I get water though. Â This time I had to pace myself. Â I had some pretty strong drinks. Â
I believe there was karaoke too but in all honesty I was chatting it up and enjoying my water making sure I could make it to stop four!
Thanks scoreboard  : )
This is a pretty good place to hang out. I come here once in a while, just to hang out with friends whenever an event happens in Imperial Beach and the place doesn't disappoint.
I really don't come here for the food (mostly drinks with friends) but when I do...the food is pretty good. I had a Philly Cheesesteak  Sandwich and found it very tasty. And I am highly critical when it comes to Onion Rings because I love Onion Rings.
The service is prompt and the prices are pretty decent...not bad for a very small neighborhood sports bar.
When I am in Imperial Beach, this is one of my spots!
The food, staff and the owner are great! I have lived out of IB for the last year and when I go back they still know my name! Everyone is friendly and you can never NOT have a good time here! My favorite dish I haveEVER had there was the Shrimp tortalini alfredo! and after that ONE time...I have NEVER seen it on the menu or as a special again! what's up with that???!!!!
They have Kareoke on wed or thurs nights...can't remember which.
Also a juke box
pool table
ski table - I think that's what it's called???? drawin a blank here. sorry.
a small outdoor patio for all the smokers out there
big screen tv for all the sporting events we must all watch!
Kids are allowed in this join until 9pm so if you have a family you are still able to go! as long as it's before 9! :)
It is also walking distance from 2 ok. just ok. bars if you are in the bar hoppin mood!
I'm going to have to disagree with the current consensus here. I visited today on a tip from a friend, who I will allow to remain nameless, that breakfast here was "good." It was cheap, but in my opinion, not good. This place was not my idea of a comfy Sunday morning breakfast, albeit a sports bar, but still. I could be expecting too much, but the food was not good. The crowd is mostly all regulars. I just probably wouldn't go back, unless I was really drunk and someone put the least bit of peer pressure on me. Either way, I would have skipped breakfast this morning if I knew what I signed up for.
Review Source:I must have driven by it 100 times driving down Palm before stopping in. I recently moved to IB and was looking for a good place to watch sports and eat some cheap food. Little did I know the food is not only cheap, but great. The 99 cent biscuits and gravy are a bargain, and have what appears to be a homemade gravy, so good. They also offer a Philly style eggs benedict with sliced rib eye and provolone that is amazing. The service has always been attentive and friendly. Definately 5 stars for this joint. It is my kind of place.
Review Source:The ScoreBoard is a great neighborhood sports bar that has excellent food. There are plenty of televisions to watch your favorite teams of all sports including lacrosse and rugby as well as the big three. The menu is great and the daily specials are awesome. Drinks are well made (expect Joe's Kama Kazi) and reasonably priced. So come in and sit in the corner of knowledge and have a good time.
