I can't keep up with this place. It's opened at least three times in the past two or three years. Inside, it's rather pleasant, for a strip mall dining establishment. There's a mix of tables and booths. It seems reasonably clean, and the food is half a notch above your typical Chinese takeout -- but it's also a bit more expensive.
What worries me is the frequency with which the establishment has changed hands and/or management, and the irregularity of the quality of service.
Frankly, while the food is marginally superior, I prefer Happy House across the street. It's less expensive, consistent, and clearly a more stable operation. But YMMV.
The food is a couple steps above your typical Chinese restaurant, which is why I've dined here three times already, but the restaurant is understaffed and there was a lot of confusion each time we ordered. Â
It took about 30 minutes to get our drinks and another 15-20 for the food, but once the dishes started coming out of the kitchen, we had a nice meal. Â However, when we asked for plates, we received what looked like tea cup saucers. Â Chinese tapas anyone?
I believe that I was dining in while the previous reviewer was waiting a long time for his take out. Â He was not the only frustrated take out customer that night.
Once the staff can hire help and iron out their service problems, Sesame House would be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. Â If they last that long.
