Visiting from out of state.... Chelsy's makes me want to be a townie!!

Had such a good time at this bar.  It's right - a "diverse" crowd! I appreciated how people talked to me, interacted with each other like it was a big party, not just sticking with the person they came in with.

It's not a fancy place BY ANY MEANS, but it was welcoming and fun.  Over the course of the evening, we met people in tuxedos there as an after-party to people in T-shirts and shorts who'd just gotten off work.

Chelsey's is a shot-gun style bar (is that what they call it?) like us Southerners only see on "Law & Order" where people hang out and know each other.   Plus it's open LATE - later than any other place around, the "regulars" told me.  People who work at other restaurants/bars come to Chelsey's after their shifts!

My drinking buddy enjoyed the draft beers (so cheap compared to the rest of PA) and the bartender made me mixed drinks that people just thought up - I told you! it was fun, like a party, and people would just call out crazy drinks (a Gimlet??) and he'd make 'em.

We both had sandwiches and they were FANTASTIC.  I figured it being a bar, the food would be like you'd get at a WaWa (hey!! are you impressed I know what that is!!??)  But it was home-made (they have a kitchen) and delicious.

Parking:  was easy, i'ts sort of on the main street in Downingtown, and we lucked up and got a spot right in front of the bar.  Price: fantastic prices.  Atmosphere: Well, no glass tiles or fountains, but what it lacks in being swanky it makes up for in being friendly.

Whenever I'm back up in PA again, I am definitely going back to Chelsey's - save me a stool!!
