Excellent food, helpful staff, beautiful intimate, room, with only
Eight tables. Â I had veal saltibucca and husband had pasta with sausage
And mushrooms. Â We were both very pleased with our choices. Desserts were also great. Â Would definitely go back! It was very snowy night out, and we weren't dressed up. We felt very comfortable.
It is a very small place (with a reflective metal ceiling) with a friendly enough staff. The menu is very small, with about five pastas and eight other entrees. Â We got the veal with crimini mushrooms and Gorgonzola, wrapped codfish and as an appetizer a split order of pasta Bolognese. Each was fine, but unexceptional.
Review Source:This place is outstanding! Â We'd been here a few years ago, and returned last night with friends. Â The salad organica and the mozarella were excellent. Â The Vitello Gorgonzola and the tagliatelle were great too. Â We opted against the desserts, but the cappuccino was a good way to finish a superb dining experience. Â The service was attentive and the chef came out to greet us-- nice touch. Â The restaurant is small (only 8 tables), but it's very nice.
Review Source:Another great meal at Sette Cucina last night. Â Joined business associates here for dinner prior to our meetings today. Â Given the relatively large group, we elected a prixe fixe style sampler with a choice of entrees. Â
The appetizer, consisting of Tomato, Mozzarella, Prosciutto and Olives, was nice. Â Next came the cheese tortellini which was very good and sized right for the second course. Â For the main course we had a choice of Cod or Pork. Â Since it was Ash Wednesday, I went with the Cod. Â It was wonderful. Â Perfectly cooked and very flavorful, accompanied by cabbage and quartered red potatoes. Â Ask my wife, I don't eat cabbage, but this cabbage was great. Â Desert consisted of chocolate covered cream puffs. Â We followed that with biscotti and a decaf coffee.
We were a fairly boisterous group, but given the late hour, we had the place to ourselves. Â And although we were there well past closing, Alan was gracious as usual, not rushing us out. Â My colleagues raved about the food and the ambiance, two things I have begun to take for granted.
While I am not a big fan of business travel, I look forward to the opportunities to come back to NJ if for no other reason to visit number 7.
