As others have stated, we were pleased to see a new breakfast spot on Rt 9 open. It would handle the overflow of The Stables and the Route 9 Diner. Sadly though this place isn't on par with the others. My mother and I have eaten here four times on weekend mornings with the same predicable results. We would have gone elsewhere if the lines at the other spots hadn't been out the door.

The wait time at The Sisters from ordering to eating is unreasonably long. The breakfast fare is just ok with the exception of VERY underdone sausage and bacon. The portions are unusually small and unrealistic for a grown adult man.The chairs are uncomfortable and the walls are devoid of artwork. The whole place seems hastily opened. It all just appears unfinished. There is no warmth here from the surroundings to the staff. I would recommend eating elsewhere either at Sylvester's in Noho or The Stables further down on nine. This is the sort of place one will go once but likely not return to. Also and for the record, the young hostess that we've seen when eating there is very snobby and sullen. Bad vibes.

I'm really sad to say that this place has missed the mark. I watched it go up and was excited that a new farm to table restaurant was going to open in the valley. I stopped in the other day for lunch and thought the shop was cute, if sparsely stocked. The focus on local products was great, and the layout was pleasant. However, the restaurant experience was not good at all.

There was no host, nor was there a sign saying to seat ourselves. A person came from behind the bakery to give us a menu, which was different than the one posted on the wall for some reason. She did not, however, offer to seat us of tell us to sit down. Finally we flagged down a server, who seated us in the sunny bar area. We ordered from a very nice server. I ordered wings, which were purportedly smoked in house and fried naked. My wife ordered bison chili, which, given the location, should have been a house specialty.

The wings arrived naked, alright. They were served with barbecue sauce on the side, and celery and carrot sticks. There was no blue cheese dressing, though. And instead of tasting smoky, the wings tasted bland. They were not crisp at all, but were sticky with chewy skin. It was as if the fryer oil was not nearly hot enough. The chicken itself appeared to be very good quality, sadly ruined by the kitchen.

The chili was also bland, and tasted more italian than southwestern. A thick layer of cheese, purportedly cheddar but resembling mozzarella, made us think of lasagna.

This restaurant has a great concept, but really lacks in execution. The owner desperately needs to hire a good executive chef to reimagine the menu and recreate some recipes. Based on my experience and the other reviews on here, if that doesn't happen, and soon, this place won't last.

I order a soup and salad, same as my friend. Was expecting the portions to be meal sized based on the price. Not only did it take way too long to prepare two bowls of soup and two salads, they were also so small. Over priced, small portions that take too long to prepare. Disappointed.

I've eaten here a few times and think it's improving, but still not there. It could be a people pleaser for both pub food and health food fans, but they still need to distinguish themselves as more than a weak mix of both. The meat needs to be less saucy, more stand out quality. Add more creative dishes with bison meat. Train servers to be less cloying and insecure. Fix echoes and sound problems (see http://audimate.com panels). Market pricing needs to be more competitive, and a fuller selection of strategically chosen specialties. What will make people regulars there? Reliably expert service, good value on healthy pub food, pleasant place to hang that isn't echoing and cold. It has great potential, but fine tuning will make the difference.

I think this place has tons of potential and is just still working out some operational kinks. I've been twice for dinner, and I'd go back. I definitely recommend trying it out on a casual night and seeing if it is a good fit for you.

Food:
I think the chefs here have some good talent. The ingredients are fresh, and the menu has good range, from bar food to composed dishes. Sometimes I think the simplest dishes can be the best judge of quality - if you can nail a mixed greens salad and a bowl of chili, you've got my attention (and they can). My friend had one of the flatbreads and didn't love it. I tried the pulled pork dinner - the chipotle Mac & Cheese side dish was incredible. The pulled pork flavor in the main course was a little too strong for me, but I'm pregnant right now, so that could be just me and my crazy taste buds.

Service:
The food came out a little slow. I think some of this was due to the kitchen and some was due to our server. It really didn't seem busy enough in there to be so slow.
I don't want to name names, but there is a young guy I have seen working there twice now (server), who is doing a great job. He helped us the first time and was very attentive. This last time we had a waitress who was new and had some room for improvement. She couldn't give me recommendations for the food because she hadn't tried it yet. She seemed to disappear a lot, and simple requests just seemed to take longer than necessary. Also, sound carries very easily out of the kitchen. I had asked a question about a side dish for my meal, and I didn't like that I could hear the chef and waitress discussing it so clearly - I think the whole restaurant could probably hear. Also, our food came up while our waitress was out of the room at one point, but the expediter just kept yelling for her. It was distracting and awkward. After a while of them calling for her my friend just wanted to get up and retrieve the food ourselves, but we waited and eventually the waiter who had helped us in the past got our food for us. But even after all that, one of the dishes that they brought us was wrong and needed to be exchanged.

Again, I think these logistical kinks are due to it being a newer place and I really do hope for them that they get past them smoothly and have a very successful business for years to come.

I would like to give them zero stars. This cook, because he is no chef, is a legend in his own mind. A $11 roast beef sandwich that was completely inedible. Tougher than the sole of a shoe! REALLY.?? I had not read any reviews before coming here, but wish I had.

The waitress tries to give feedback, but he just brushes her off. Market part of the store, well lets just say its no Whole Foods which is not saying much, and the prices are ridiculous! Astronomical...to the point that if I can go over to Whole Foods and buy the same product for less, you are out of touch Seven Sisters!

I recommend that you start reading these reviews and begin to address the issues. People want to support local, but not a local business who prides itself on not listening to its customers.

Major disappointment and I will never return, nor will I ever recommend this http://place.it is a shame.

The menu looks inviting and the place is attractive. But service is just bad bad bad. Very long waits for everything. Drink orders were taken quickly but took too long to arrive. (And what restaurant runs out of iced tea? By 1PM?)

Food took so long too arrive that we were considering going to the market in the back of the place to buy some snacks while we waited. Then it was obvious the food had been sitting and waiting under a heat lamp. My over-easy eggs had congealed and solidified. The steak was Luke warm and had gone from medium rare to brown and rubbery. A beet salad was tiny, yet served in a bowl big enough to bathe in. The best thing to hit the table was a child's grilled cheese sandwich... probably because grilled cheese is almost impossible to destroy. The rest of our meals had lost any kind of taste.

The check did come promptly, but then we had to practically tackle the server to get her to come back for the credit card.

This place is an interesting idea, but fails miserably in execution.

Give this place a second try!
We just had the Baby Back Ribs and the Hangar Steak.
The ribs were smoky, and delicious.(Smoked in house!) By far the best ribs in the area.
The steak was flavorful and perfectly prepared.
All the meat was local!
My first few visits were so disappointing, I,m glad I returned.
They've obviously gotten their act together
We shopped in the market which has some really interesting products including locally prepared dinners that you just boil up. What a great idea. I also got some Vermont peanut butter...who knew?
So anyway, I highly recommend this place, they've obviously responded to the initial complaints and are well on the way to having a stellar restaurant and bar.

My friend and I decided to try Seven Sisters Market Bistro for breakfast, unfortunately it was a mistake. I was not impressed with the breakfast at all. I ordered a simple two eggs over easy, I got one over hard and it was cold, the toast was also cold. Coffee choice was also very disappointing , no flavored . I don't think I'll be going back.

Unfortunately my friends and I made the decision to go to Seven Sisters over Stables this morning for breakfast. Clearly it was a wrong choice because we just couldn't seem to catch a break. Here's a list of just a few things that had gone wrong.

1) The "serving now" menu that they have posted outside the dining area isn't the same that we were given when seated. Ex: I saw pancakes on the "serving now" menu, but when I went to order them they told me they weren't serving them.
2) The menu is actually pretty confusing
3) After waiting 45 minutes for our simple breakfast orders our waitress finally came over and told us it'll be a little longer because the kitchen burnt one of the waffles.
4) When the food finally came out we weren't impressed with what we ordered. And then to put the icing on the cake, we found a hair on the waffle. At this point we just wanted to get out
5) Although they took the meal off the bill (as they should) I don't think anyone, such as a manager, was informed about our inconvenience.

We all had such high hopes for Seven Sisters but unfortunately we won't return and most definitely won't suggest it to any of our friends. Maybe in the future they'll finally get it together.

NEW FAVE.
Decor: casual slick friendly.
Menu: meaty, a cut above, just a bit more imaginative. They smoke their own meats, raise their own bison. Extra touches like gorgonzola here, squash delish; fries especially good.

They do have some finer and greener fare like good salads and crispy brussel sprouts, but it's heavy on the rich and meaty.

Bountiful portions, super-nice waitstaff. Clean decor. Nice view, considering it's on the Hadley anony-mile.

Yum!

This place is very mediocre. The pulled pork was just kind of there, not good nor bad. I've had better at an amusement park!

The chili was way too small of a portion for the price. Diner chili was much better.

Bison burger was pretty good. That's the reason this place gets two stars and not one.

The waitresses were very good, though I could tell they were really nervous about what we thought of the food.

I'm staying away from here until better reviews come in.

I do not want to give a bad rating because we did not have a chance to eat the food.
Anyways we went there for brunch, was promptly greeted by waitstaff and we asked for a table with high chairs for our kids. They said sure then a few minnits later came back holding a booster seat with no straps.
We couldn't put our kids in those so we had to find another place to eat.
Not sure if they are planing on getting them or there on order but just a heads up i would call ahead to find out if you have kids.

We have tried this place three times - twice during the "soft opening" and once this week. I am sad to say that we have no plans to return. Like many other reviewers, our hopes were high, and we really want to see this place make it. However, there are too many mistakes!

I ordered a $23 fish dish and left feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. I have eaten larger appetizers and this was an entree (that did not come with a salad)! The meal was served in a huge bowl, and it had a small piece of fish, three pieces of small pasta, three paper thin slices of a small cherry tomato, and a few cabbage leafs. The pasta was supposed to have shrimp in it; I didn't taste it if it was there. I suppose I was expecting the fish to be sitting on a bed of pasta. The food was bland.

My partner was told that they were out of what he originally wanted to order (this has happened there on other occasions). So he ordered ribs from their smoked menu - something that tasted very good last time we were there. They tasted like they were brined in salt water. It takes a lot for him to say something was too salty; this did it! There was no smoky flavor at all - just salt.

As we looked around us, most plates were being taken away with half eaten burgers. Another plate near us had a sandwich sitting on it with one bite taken out of it. Those customers did not take the food with them.

Sitting there in disappointment, I was looking forward to seeing the groceries located in the nearby market. At 7:55, they turned the lights out in the market just when I started looking around - they said they were closing it up even though it is connected to the restaurant.

The wait staff has always been courteous. But, they seem nervous. There is a feeling of confusion, and the restaurant seems to suffer from an identity crisis.

When we left, we got a quick bite somewhere else - for me, to fill my belly. For my partner, to get the taste of salt out of his mouth.

The ribs were fantastic. Wasn't sure after reading the reviews. Pleasantly surprised. Will go again.

I was really looking forward to trying this new edition to the restaurant scene in the valley. What a disappointment! A friend and I stopped in for dinner last Saturday night and we were both underwhelmed with the food, the decor, and the ambiance. We both ordered the braised bison and both sent it back. For the first time in my life I sent a meal back! It was incredibly salty, just unreal. The waitress was lovely about it ( I'm guessing this has happened before ). We settled for bison steaks which were tough and fatty. The worst part was when we asked the waitress if the chef had tasted the braise we sent back she replied that yes they did and had no problem with it. Later my friend overheard another waitress telling another patron that the braise was now off the menu tonight. Bad food in an uncomfortable setting.

Bitter disappointment. We stopped in for lunch and ordered a couple of sandwiches, a cubano which had luke warm "pork ham" I was under the impression that it was pork and ham however it arrived with one type of meat which struggled for an identity I gave up at the end and asked the waitress who didn't have the answer to whether it was pork or ham so she went back and asked and told me it was a combination of the two. The fries are ok, they were kind of cold too.

My husband had a shay's shaved steak sandwich which looked like it had been slapped together with two little pieces of brie thrown ontop and served with a half full two ounce ramekin of au jus....how are you possibly supposed to dip your sandwich in there???

Service was awful, hands down awkward and awful. The server didn't come back to check on us until we were done eating, gave us lunch and dinner menus while waiting for our food in case we want to come back, with stories about how this and that are coming to the bistro, I don't particularly care for sales pitches while waiting for my food. She cut off my husband for his drink order and then tried to assume he was having the same thing i was for lunch, it appeared like she'd never served before.

It would be nice if they would get their act together it could be a nice place.

I think this place has potential to get to 5 stars, but for now- 2 stars. The main reason is the value. I recently went for lunch, and ordered the Shay's Shaved Rebellion sandwich- shaved beef, brie, caramelized onions and horseradish aioli and a baguette. I laughed when it arrived- "where's the beef"?. There was so little beef on a huge couple of bread slices (more like panini bread than a baguette). Other than bread, there was very little to the sandwich. It tasted pretty good- but a reasonable portion would be welcome.

A note of advice to Seven Sisters- showcase bison more! You are a bison farm- you have a bunch of animals right out your window- you have 3 bison dishes (chili, queso app, and a burger), but they are just regular menu items. It seems you should be trumpeting bison - put up a higher end meal showcasing bison, offer bison as an optional replacement for any other meat, etc etc.

While this was my first visit, I'll be back to try again, and I look forward to seeing improvements. Seven Sisters is new, and I want to see them succeed.

My girlfriend and I stopped in Saturday night after looking forward to the place opening for a while. Walked around the market and was impressed with the some of the selection (especially the different cuts of Bison). The service was ok, nothing special but nothing terrible. I was really disappointed with their selection of Bison on the menu. For a place with Bison art everywhere, a market with a 4-5 cuts of Bison steaks, all that was on the menu was a Bison burger and the chili. I've had Bison burgers before and ordered it. It was a little small but decently cooked. The Bison queso dip was better than the burger. I would stop in again, but would make a trip out of it if I could try one of those Bison steaks they have in the market for sale.

I liked this place during their soft open, but now that it's really open I don't think I'll go back. The $9 beef burger was really good and was worth it but I ordered it today and they told me it was $11 (even though the Menu still had the $9 price) waitress said it was because they changed to local grass fed beef. I decided why not but should have said hell no. For what I got I would paid no more than $7.50 it was a slider the slice of onion was bigger then the meat. No spices on the meat at all. I ordered it med. rare and it was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. Very very disappointing, and I feel ripped off.

Regretfully, we went there for dinner. The service was mediocre and the food was definitely overpriced. I got and extremely bland bison burger for $13.50! It was the size of a slider. A friend ordered a veggie burger but was told they had run out...AT 6:45!!! How do you run out of food that early in the evening??? I can't explain the French fries. They were shriveled up and soggy with a ton of salt dumped in them. The best part was the beer menu! Don't think I will be going back any time soon. Pretty disappointed because I really wanted to like it.

Went there on "opening day" and was disappointed. Had been there a month ago and thought we would give them another chance. Not a good day. It was very noisy and those tall chairs are a killer. Husband ordered the Burger done medium with fries. I ordered a crock of beef stew and salad. Burger was way over done and the
bun was stale. Fries were soggy. Beef stew had no taste and consisted of just shredded beef and a few potatoes. No seasoning at all. Salad was fine. Every time the door is opened a cold draft blows right at you. Waitress was cordial. Will not be going back till it straightens out.

I am giving three stars because I really want to like this place, and I really want it to do well. It feels like the owners care about it and are trying to make something special...and its just still very early in the process.

Our night there started out wonderfully. Comfortable, spacious bar and a very friendly and knowledgeable tender who filled us in on all the wines. We liked that the game and the emmy's were on, the wine was amazing, and the menu looked great...especially excited that they had gluten free options for us. We were both talking about how great this place seemed for a drink, burger and watching the game somewhere casual and comfortable.

Unfortunately, once the food arrived, it was harder and harder to be excited about this place. I really enjoy bison and ordered the burger, which at $12 plus another $2 fir the add-ons was a bit steep for Hadley. Another reviewer described it perfectly,,,small, dry and a burnt after taste that would not go away. This particular patty was also quite grizzly. It tasted frozen, which may very well be the case.

Our friend ordered the steak which was blackened, and the blackened rub was just overpowering. Unfortunate since the steak was actually quite good. Also an uninspiring mac and cheese. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was memorable for the right reasons.

Even dessert was off, with a chocolate torte that again seemed frozen and dethawed, and a cheezecake with very gummy cream cheese frosting. Nothing seemed particularly fresh.

The wine was outstanding, and our server was bright, friendly, easy to answer all of our questions and fun to chat with. We loved the atmosphere, and the potato skins were very tasty. Other than that, it was hard to walk away impressed with the kitchen side of things. We will give it another shot and perhaps try the pizza or a special of the day.

We hope the food shifts, as it would be nice to see this place succeed.

I would have given one star, but the BBQ pulled pork sandwich was actually pretty good. I've read they're not fully open until mid February, and think it'd be better if they just shut down all together until then. The menu is ok, but the prices of some items are overpriced. The fries...what to say....I don't understand how they cook them. It's like they're cooked halfway, then thrown back in the fryer an hour later? They're very soggy, salty, and un appealing. The server came over mid way through to ask about my sandwich and how they could improve since they had guests previously say different things. I think it's good they want feedback on how to improve, but the owners really need to rethink their food, and possibly who is preparing it. The kitchen staff seemed very young.

What a disappointment! I had eagerly been awaiting the opening of Seven Sisters for months and so the bad experience I had there seemed especially disheartening.

I fully support local businesses and I want new businesses to do well, but the mistakes I saw today were more than just bumps in the opening process. First off, if you're not completely prepared to open - then just wait! I definitely think they should have spent some time 1) developing the menu more fully, 2) completing the market section, and 3) figuring out the staffing situation.

First when we walked in, no one greeted us yet there seemed to be about 7 people working in the small dining room. We assumed that it would be ok to just sit somewhere. We came for lunch and I was underwhelmed by the menu. It was pretty much just your choice of 3 pulled pork sandwiches, a ham or veggie sandwich, or some salads. We settled on the bison chili and queso to start.

When we got the Bison Chili and Queso, we thought they had forgotten the chili part of it. It looked like a few chips baked with shredded cheese and topped with scallions. We asked if they had gotten the order wrong and after about 15 minutes we were given more of the 'chili con queso' on top and on the side with the explanation that "When it's poured on top, you can't see it." No apology, just this odd explanation. This made me think that whoever developed the menu, isn't familiar with traditional chili con queso, this was later confirmed when I actually tried it. Their version of Chili con queso looked like a terrifying mix of curdled red cream sauce with enormous, tough chunks of bison meat and unsurprisingly that's how it tasted. I soon regretted noting the absence of the chili con queso to the waitress since it seemed as though because of the terrible quality, this absence may have been intentional.

We decided not to eat the rest, a choice our digestive systems heartily thank us for, and we decided we would hold judgement until the sandwiches came. After about 20 minutes of waiting, it just didn't seem worth it to wait and so we paid for our drinks and the terrible queso and left. They said the wait was because of the large party but that doesn't excuse the taste of the food.

I hope that I'm wrong and this place does improve but I won't be trying it again until I've heard better things about it.

Everything I've had here was AMAZING!! The desserts are made from scratch, and the combinations of flavors in the sandwich I had was divine. The fries were hand cut and made from fresh potatoes. I am very picky with desserts, but after trying two (chocolate mousse and apple crisp) and being very impressed, I can't wait to try the rest.
