I enjoyed the Shack. Â It's a basic, tiny little joint where the kitchen is in view the whole time. Â Our server was friendly and attentive, and kind enough to check with the kitchen if we could have breakfast after the lunch service had started. Â They allowed us breakfast, so we had some simple American breakfast stuff. Â It was good, nothing spectacular, but it was the breakfast we were looking for. Â The coffee was good. Â I wouldn't mind visiting the Shack again if I'm ever in Clinton. Â The prices are very reasonable. Â The place has a cozy vibe with lots of old-school nostalgia. Â I would like to try this Green River they speak of. Â Little did we know that we had stumbled into Clinton during the raucous Apple & Pork Festival until our waitress let us in on what the commotion in town was all about!
Review Source:They practically give the food away, the prices are so low. Â We ate there on a Monday at noon, and had our food faster than if we had ordered from McDonalds. Â It was good, not great, low priced and cooked to order.
We were one of the few tables not using either an oxygen bottle or a hearing aid. But in a town where everyone knows your name, they treated us outsiders like we were welcome guests.
The burger was hand pressed on a griddle, the slaw was tasty and healthy, and the service was prompt and friendly.
The Shack to me always reminds me of my first "Green River". Â The last time I was in town, we came here for breakfast which was a first for me (and I guess they had just started). Â The food was pretty good and the prices were very cheap. Â It was really busy and it didn't seem like the waitresses were able to keep up but overall it was worth the price :)
