Update- Pretty sure this place is closed.

This review is predicated on the fact that there's basically no where else to go have a night out in the Valley.

The dance club area is fun, the music is okay, not that imaginative, but okay.  I like that there's a mix of  folks there so if I'm in my 40's I don't stick out like a sore thumb, LOL.  I like that there are many bars to choose from.   I think most are a snooze, so we stay and dance mostly.

The beef I have is the security guards act like the guests are children and prohibit everything you can think of.  It's ridiculous.  I get some people get drunk and out of hand, but holding onto the rail while dancing??? Give me a break.  And guard your drinks.  The busboys clear every table off when you are not looking, even if you haven't touched your drink and just turn your back for a second.  Just a moneymaking tactic for them

If there was somewhere better to go, I'd say go there, but Medford being what it is, Shenanigan's is okay, no better.

Two words...MEAT MARKET.  The only thing good that I can say about this place is that there are about 5 different atmospheres/bars to choose from all with in the same venu.  A little something for everyone.  I like the outside patio in the summer time.  There are just way too many fights at this establishment.  There is a lot of over serving of alcohol to the point where they have been in hot water enough times that they have to start physically taking your drink away at last call around 1am even though the bars close at 2:30am.  The DJ sucks or at least their music sucks.  I went to request a song that they didn't have and the DJ told me to give him my phone and he could play a track off of that.  I heard a lot of the same dance songs being played over and over.  I just try to stay clear of this establishment, and the people who frequent here have that "don't mess with me" look in their eye as if they are just waiting for someone to start a fight with them.

One of the worse bars in Medford. I went here because I heard it had more of a club vibe and there were something like 5 different bars and a cool patio. Talk about a total let-down; the whole place seemed filled with trashy bitchy women and creepy dudes lurking around. One guy even tried to hit on me by asking how I like the bathroom.

Another thing that sucks is that they don't let anyone in after 12:00. I tried bringing some friends from out of town here after stopping at a few other places because they wanted to check it out, only to be rudely informed by the bouncers that "we'd have to find another place to get drunk tonight." Considering we were pretty sober and quite polite, I found his attitude highly offensive and uncalled for.

The only reason I give this place two stars is because there is one classier bar in the whole compound that's nice to get a martini in the afternoon before the Medford tweaks and douchebags show up.

If you want to dancing and hang out with some people who aren't entire clad in camo, go to Club Havana's new dance club. It's really classy and they have some good DJs. Or if you're feeling like a more laid-back experience hit up Howie's. It has a neat atmosphere and the crowd's usually pretty laid back. Basically, stay away from Shenanigans.

I absolutely love Shenanigans,  I always have a blast here,  The drinks are soo good.  Especially their malibu buckets.  And they make a mean duck fart drink.  they may be a little pricey but it's worth it.  I have nothing but fun when I go. The bartenders are so nice and helpful.  I've never had an issue with any bartender.    I love the patio.  amazing place to go have some fun.

So, I need to update this thing. Shenanigans use to be a lot of fun. Now it seems like the owners are trying to get the monopoly on nightlife in Medford (they can have it) but all they are really doing in getting in over their heads. There are LOTS of fights here. Because they have so many different bars spread out they also have a ton of different sorts of people that are interested in kicking each others faces in. Not good. Not worth it. Don't do it.

Absolutely horrible time. Went with lots of cash, bought great beers (bottled) and tipped well. Still got horrible service in a near empty bar. Everyone I came across was rude. It's cool they have multiple bars, but perhaps they should have just had one great bar instead of 5 sub-par ones. I'm sure this could be fun under the right conditions or if they are having a good show on the outdoor bar, but I won't bother going back. Too many other options.

The horseshoe pit is now gone and I'm sure there is a fun story behind it's removal. Was also disappointed that I could not get a water on the patio unless I paid for bottled water.

There is a new indoor dance area they bought that is big although I didn't stick around long enough to see the action. My buddy pointed out the owner, and like the other reviewers on here I found it strange she was playing recess monitor over the grounds. Be good, or she may send you to the principal's office.

I see some truth to "The C's" comment below - "If you're going to go here, make sure you can hold your own."

Enforcing a basic dress code might help a little. Still want to see a beach party night happen here.

    2.5 stars.

Many different bars within. Good for finding the 'theme' you want. To many mixed breeds of people.. causing lots of BS.

Mainly, the women bartenders are horrible. I have had incidents quite a few times which leads me to believe it wasn't just me or a bad night.

Few times, I have had some high pricing and the tips shows up higher on the bank then what i wrote in my checkbook.

I would try to avoid this place at all possible. I tend to go back every once in a great while, thinking, they had weeded out the bad service. NOT the case.

The atmosphere wasn't too bad for the younger crowd but there were some really sketchy people hanging out and leering.

The biggest diappointment came when I ordered. I was the DD that night and wanted some ice water. I had to pay $2 for a bottle of water!!!! I asked for a glass with some ice and the woman behind the bar was VERY rude about it.

After that my large party and I left for another place that treated their customers better.

    2 thumbs down!

Shenanigans is a decent bar all around. They have a few indoor/outdoor bars and a newly added dance club that is still under construction. There's not much to say though. The menu and drinks are typical to a bar and a handful of the bartenders are polite and kind. The one thing that stood out to me as negitive is the security and owner. I've had several conversations with the above and they always seem to talk down and be rude. Once I was accused of being a " spy" for there local competition because I wanted to know when the construction on the dance club would be done and what it was about. Because medford is so small and because it offers more to a younger crowd it will continue to do well.

    Two words: scary people.

Okay four words: scary people, strong drinks.

Not sure that I will ever go back. One time and you get everything that you need to from this place. I was pretty certain that I was going to look at the wrong person and get punched or something. Seemed like just about every person was one gulp off from a bar brawl and they all had drinks in their hand.

I've been to this place a number of times and I'm sure I will continue going despite the many interesting and sometimes unfortunate events I have encountered here because there is only about three choices in Medford for a night out.

Let's run through the pluses first:
-They have a free shuttle service if there is 5 or more people in your group. They are driving you around for free so you are subject to their schedule. But seriously, don't drive drunk. Even if there weren't a huge number of cops waiting around this bar, it simply isn't worth the risk.
-There is four bars here, and depending on the mood you are in, at least one is sure to strike your fancy.

    Some negative points:
-The owner/manager. She is probably a nice enough woman, unfortunately she enjoys cutting people off seemingly at random. Recently I was with some friends and was out dancing when Lori and her black marker came my way. She did not have a conversation with me, she did not attempt to evaluate my intoxication level, she just put big X's on my hands. I was not even actively drinking at the time and had not been in about an hour. A member of my party chased her down and we had a civil conversation with her, in which she acknowledged that she was wrong, as she spent a few minutes speaking to me and realized that I was not intoxicated. Since I was already done drinking for the night I really wasn't all that mad, but what I am mad about is that these stupid X's took 3 days of vigorous scrubbing to remove!
-A couple of the bartenders can be pretty rude. Many of them are very nice and very polite, but there's two that come to my head that I will avoid ordering a drink from because I just don't want to deal with them.
-They are well known for being a joint that you can still order food from late at night (and there isn't many in this area) but for some reason unbeknownst to me they only staff one cook after about ten pm, so food averages about an hour wait. Some of the bartenders will tell you this in plain terms "Your food will take an hour." and some just go with "It will take a while because there is only one cook." I won't be ordering food here ever again.

Overall it's a respectable enough bar to go have a drink in, but it's not a place I would recommend for a party or a big night out. The drinks are about average priced, but there's often inconsistency in the recipe and the price. I have a go-to drink and I've had it served about three different ways at a variety of prices. The business owner seems to be the only person with any sort of power or decision making ability (I can't confirm for certain, but she's the only person I've seen deal with anything) and with four+ bars and a couple hundred people things slip through the cracks.

All I can say is holler for "HAPPY HOUR", 3pm to 6pm is the hours and you cannot beat the prices anywhere in the Medford area, period.. Mickey is our normal bartender and this lady is as classy as it comes, she's attentive and friendly. All of the bartenders are great but Mickey is by far our favorite.

This place is filled with gross old dudes in camo staring at chicks. This was a one time only place for me.... and to top it off there was Jesus talk streaming on all the speakers through out all the bars .. it almost felt cult-like.  Yeeeah? no thanks Heaven's Gate.

Great place. Went for the final 3 bands of battle of the bands and that was really cool.
After that the DJ was pretty good and played lots of dance music. Bar service was pretty quick for being so crowded.

CABS IN MEDFORD ARE CHEAP TAX ONE.

During a trip to the Pacific Northwest, my friends and I stopped in Medford for the night.  Being from LA, we hoped to find a cheap, fun bar to hang out in for the night, since it is so rare to find those in SoCal.  A few people working at our hotel recommended Shenanigans, saying they "heard it was fun."

    What a disaster.

We showed up at 8 pm, and there were three people there, despite it being billed as a "huge spot with four bars."  The bartender, that lying sack of S, said that it was Ladies Night and it would be full and crazy by 10:30 pm.  As three young males, we got excited about the prospects.  So we bought more beer, and waited.  Then we bought more beer, and waited some more.

After many, many rounds, at 12:45 am, we realized the sad fact.  No one was coming.  This place was huge, yes.  But no one comes to hang out.  The people who do come seem ignorant and aren't the types you want to mingle with.  The booze and burgers are cheap, but for your sake: drink, eat, then get OUTTTT.   Literally couldn't have been a more boring evening for three guys who love to have a good time.

    Thanks for nothing Shenanigans.

The police are at this bar nightly for a reason. They don't have enough security to keep the large crowds under control. This is why there is a fight almost every week with often someone going to the hospital. If you're going to go here, make sure you can hold your own.

I didn't have any of the food so I cannot rate anything there, but I can verify the drinks as extremely weak and pretty lame with the whole Red Bull thing in tiny bomb shot glasses. The structure on the second floor feels pretty shaky, especially in the bathroom. The bar tenders were nice, though. I'd say the overall idea of this club like this in a small town like Medford can be very good. I just think the place could use some restructuring to make it a little less tacky; take that broken old basketball hoop off the patio and put some booze in the drinks!

I wouldn't go here just for the food or great mixed drinks, but I do love the outdoor patio.  I could stay there for hours chatting with friends.
