My favorite BBQ place near Lake Martin. Â The pork is moist and the sauce hits the mark. Â They also serve a nice meat and three with a choice of meats. Â I had the fried chicken special last time with creamed corn, field peas and a roll. Â A very nice meal with some tea. The outside picnic tables under the roof line make for a nice place to sit because the breeze comes through this area.
Sho'Nuff is located in the corner of an old strip shopping center near Roses. Â Its hard to find unless you know it is there; but it is well worth looking for. I use to like Cottons BBQ but it is a distant second now. Â
It made the meal plan.
LORD! Â That's all I gotz to say. Â I was in Goodwater, Al., visiting my grandmother and was craving a "pulled pork" sammich (not no sandwich, but a sammich!). The pecan smoke on dat pork would make yo jump for joy with the Holy Ghost and just praise the Lord! The people at Sho'Nuff were friendly with that true "Down South" hospitality. Â Oh, the sweet tea was off the hook! Â Don't forget to save room for homemade pie! Â I'm just mad I'm back in Cali and can't get some of that BBq on a regular!
Review Source:Great local BBQ - try the sho nuff tater!
Sho Nuff is a great local spot that not many out of towners know about. Â If you are visiting the Lake Martin area, it is one of the best BBQ spots in the entire area. I like the pulled pork the best. Â The sauce comes on the side, mild or hot. Â You stand in line and then sit down and wait for the food. Â No alcohol. Â They also have outside picnic tables. Â Highly recommended.
The Sho Nuff tater is a specialty, basically a baked potato all the trimmings, plus a salad, plus some pulled pork BBQ. Â It may sound gross but it's actually very good. Â For sides they serve chips in a bag and cokes in cans. Â I usually get sweet tea, a regular sandwich, inside pork, and chips. Â If I get a tater, I get no side. Â It is more than enough to fill me up.
During the summer we will often get a couple of pounds of Q and take it to the lake, with a side order of hot and  side order of mild sauce, it makes for great sandwiches throughout the weekend.
