    Hello,

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed i am. I came to foxwoods for a girls weekend out. My sister recently found out that she has a medical condition that prevents her from being able to drink alchohol.  We are at shrine and they refuse to give her water... the only beverage she can medically drink. I am outraged.  This id clear discrimination against disabilities.  I will be contacting my lawyer.

If I could give "zero" stars, I would. The service at Shrine is awful, literally the worst I have ever experienced. I can't speak for the food because, unfortunately, we didn't get past ordering drinks before leaving.

And as a preface, I have never posted a review and generally don't complain about service. I worked as both a hostess and a waitress for many years in college and even post-grad to make extra cash so I know how some customers like to complain just for the sake of complaining. Trust me, that's not how I generally react to a situation where a waitress is busy and can't tend to a table's every demand, etc. I'm a nice girl who is very understanding of how stressful the service industry can be.

With that said, last weekend my friends and I went to Foxwoods to celebrate a 30th birthday. There were 13 of us in total. We had a great experience at Foxwoods until we went to Shrine around 9:30pm on Saturday night for dinner (in the upstairs section). The birthday boy went up to the hostess stand to ask about seating for 13, and the two hostesses not only didn't greet him, but stared blankly back as if to say "huh?" when he asked about a table. They eventually mumbled about not having space, but that we could "try our luck in the bar section" but meanwhile the place was EMPTY. They easily could have pushed tables together in the dining room. But nonetheless, the BAR WAS EMPTY! An entire row of cocktail tables plus bar seating. But instead of offering to push those tables together, they just said to "try our luck." So rude. So we did, we all walked into the bar section and sat down and starting pushing a few tables together. After a few minutes of not being greeted, even though we saw plenty of waitstaff standing around doing nothing, my boyfriend and I left our seats at the cocktail table and sat right at the bar. The bartender greeted us and took our drink order. Next thing we knew, the birthday boy came over and said he was told by the manager we need to leave because he was "too intoxicated."

Okay --- I'm not against restaurants using their discretion as to whether or not they will serve someone who is obviously very drunk and/or making a scene, but this was the START of our night at Foxwoods, so how "drunk" could we really be? Come on. They basically just didn't want to serve a large group. So I asked the bartender if I could talk to this manager, and she shrugged and said "she's right over there" and when she pointed her out, the manager looked right at me, and my friend, and walked away. Then the bartender said "well you can stay, but HE has to leave" pointing at my friend. Seriously? As if half of our group would decide to have dinner together and not include the other half. Simultaneously, another two of our friends had been served beers at the bar while this was happening. The birthday boy told them "we have to leave" and as they got up, the bouncer insisted that they pay for their unconsumed beer. When the birthday boy said "that's not fair, they didn't even take one sip" the bouncer threatened him with "do you really want to get arrested over two beers?"

That crossed the line. Not only were the hostesses incredibly rude (their ONLY job is to be friendly and welcoming!) the manager refused to come speak to us directly and then the bouncer threatened arrest. I don't even have words for how unprofessional the entire staff was. I understand that they can refuse service if they believe someone is too intoxicated, but that was so far from what the reality of the situation was. And even if he was too intoxicated, they handled it poorly regardless. They embarrassed my friend, on his birthday nonetheless, in front of all of his friends for no reason.

Point proven because we left Shrine, went to another restaurant within the resort and we were all served a delicious dinner and lots of drinks (even the "drunk" birthday boy!), so obviously we were not too intoxicated or would have been kicked out or cut off there!

We even continued to celebrate my friend's birthday until after 3am with frequent trips to multiple bars throughout the resort and constantly played games in the casino. If any one of us had been too intoxicated, we would have been cut off or kicked out of the resort by the pit boss, a bartender, or any other staff member. Everyone knows how many cameras are around that casino and if our group was being loud, rude or too drunk in any way we would have immediately been approached. But that didn't happen at all! Obviously the rest of the Foxwoods staff could see we were a large group enjoying a great Saturday night with drinks and gambling for my friend's birthday.

Bottom line is that the Shrine staff is full of stuck-up, rude, and inhospitable jerks who will never ever ever ever get our business again. I don't recommend going there under any circumstance.

I called approximately two months in advance to reserve a VIP table  for my sister's bachelorette party. I had friends flying in from around the country and wanted to have a special night for all of us.

After reserving a table for 12 and giving my credit card information to hold the table we arrived for our weekend and I called the VIP person to confirm and the guy acted like he had no idea who I was and had to get all of my information again. What did these people do with all my credit card info and a copy of my drivers license? When we arrived we had the worst table in the place that only had seating for 5 people and was right next to the door. Our waitress was busy chatting with her friends all night and we ended up pouring our own drinks and were then given an automatic 20% tip.

I contacted the manager to complain about my experience and he said he would look into it and then never got back to me. I would never book another even with them and would not recommend anyone else doing so.

Been to Shrine numerous times. I have loved it in the past but recently the staff is snobby and our "VIP" experience has been less than adequate. I usually have to email the "VIP Guy" 4 times before he answers, then is less than pleasant on the phone.  The bottle service is very expensive, which I would happily pay for if we got the VIP perks. But unfortunately, our table was not roped off, which allowed for sketch balls to happily roam over. Then after being asked by a Russian couple to "join them in their hotel room" the bouncer did noting to remove them from VIP.  Also, we had to pay in advanced...ok... but also include the hostess' TIP! Why should we have to pay before we find out how her service is, which turned out to we awful... shocker.
I used to love you... and gave you chances to redeem yourself... now I'll make sure all my friends know how awful you are. See ya Shrine.

I love going Shrine. I haven't been there to eat, but I go there to party every once in awhile. The music is always good, and the dance floor is always bumpin. I also love the decor of the place. I think it's quite beautiful. It is pretty expensive for drinks and admission, but you pay for the club experience.

I've been in Shrine a few times in the past and had some fairly mediocre experiences.  The first time was for a friend's birthday where our group ate sushi upstairs for dinner adding up to an $800 tab.  We then swung around to the club expecting to at least be comp'ed at the door for our bill.  This on a weeknight there was no line and it was not very crowded inside, the bouncer told us we would be paying a full cover to get inside.  When we put up enough of a stink about the food bill we just paid the manager came along and finally conceded.

This past weekend I was at Foxwoods for a bachelor party.  After dinner we were walking by the Shrine front entrance to gamble in the casino and I asked the door attendant if I could get in with shorts or would have to go change later.  You need jeans to get in so myself and 3 friends broke off from the bachelor and the larger group after gambling and got changed to appease the dress code.  When the 4 of us walked up to the (now long) line the bouncer waved us over and asked us if we were the same people from the bachelor party that walked by and asked about the dress code.  Expecting that he would then bump the four of us up to the front we explained that we were.  It was at that point when we were informed that anyone in our group would not be allowed in due to the club policy.

Shrine bans bachelor parties, no questions asked.

After trying to explain we had left the bachelor and the large group in the casino and that this was just a group of 4 guys trying to get in we gave up and tried a different route.

We walked upstairs to the restaurant to get a few drinks and hope to move down at some point that way.  There we met up with a group of 8 ladies finishing dinner who were sympathetic to our situation.  They planned also to go to Shrine and invited us to enter with them.  We walked to the inside entrance mixed in alternating the 8 girls and 4 guys and were started to be allowed in.  One of the main entrance door attendants then walks up and recognizes our group from the earlier scenario and hand picks us out of the group of girls to reject us again.

This policy is obviously arbitrary and I'm sure it's a game for the door attendants to blacklist a group for uttering the word "bachelor".  It would be one thing if we had tried to enter obnoxiously as a group of 12 guys.  But to be hand picked out of a group of 12 people entering with a ratio of 8 ladies and 4 guys is just ridiculous.

    Shrine is not a destination.

If you are staying at Foxwoods it is one of the few available options.  They would not survive if it were not for that monopoly.  Get a clue and hire employees with an ounce of reasonable sense.

    I won't be returning.

I was SOOOOO pumped to come here in 2007 when the MGM expansion at Foxwoods opened.  Eastern Connecticut (the place of my upbringing) is sorely lacking in trendy and glamorous dance clubs and I was very eager to give this place a try, especially since a former co-worker raved about it.

It is very handsomely decorated and has a very exotic dark Asian ambiance to it.  That's about the end of what I liked about it.

First of all, the drink prices are unreasonable.  A red bull with Stolitchnaya vodka ran something like $14.  $14 is the highest I've ever paid for a drink in the state of Connecticut.  Even the most upscale places I've been in Boston do not charge these prices.  It wasn't that strong to my recollection either.  I would only pay such a high price for a drink if I was on vacation and I wanted to go all out but not for a simple Friday night out at the casino.

Secondly, while the music played by the DJ in the club was quite good, the dance floor upon which to enjoy yourself was akin to dancing in a thimble.  It was seriously maybe the size of my kitchen and bathroom combined, yet they allowed an outrageously high number of patrons to pack themselves in there.  I have no problem with crowded dance clubs; however, they should not be allowed to get so crowded that you cannot dance in them.  What's the point of a dance club in which you can't dance?  Sort of defeats the purpose.

I remember getting a whiff of lots of different food smells in there -- it was the breaths of the various patrons who were literally breathing down my neck and in my face because we were packed in like sardines.

I didn't get a chance to interact with anyone in there either because it was so crowded I couldn't ask someone to come onto the dancefloor with me, so I can't speak to the quality of the crowd.

I would much rather go to the Ultra 88 Club at Mohegan Sun than this place.  It was such an utter disappointment.

Its only saving grace from getting the dreaded one-star review was that the staff was on point and very nice.  They treated me very well and I hold them in high regard.  But I believe the management of the place instructs them to cram as many people as humanly possible in there to maximize their cover charges.

Maybe I'll be back someday, but I'm not sure when.

So I've never really written a review for any place before, but this place disgusts me so much, I just had to.

We were a group of about 12 girls there for a bachelorette party and had a VIP booth reserved, etc.  Everyone was having a good time until they told us we had to pay for an extra bottle because we had too many girls in our VIP area.  I didn't know we had a limit.  Plus not of us were in there at once either.

Then there's a couple of these sketchy dudes that were trying to act like they were part of our table, raising shot glasses when we did and I could've sworn - tried to get some drinks from the bottle at our table.  From the way they were acting, they were really rude and looked like they were drunk.

Then my friend and I walked through the extremely crowded bar and dance floor over to the restroom.  There was a huge line, by the way.  Then when we were done, a bouncer came up to me and said I needed to leave.  I was baffled because at first I was thinking I needed to leave the bathroom because maybe something went on and I hadn't noticed? So I looked back into the bathroom and it seemed normal.  And when I looked back at him, I noticed that he was just telling me to leave.  Didn't bother to explain why.  Just legit kicked me out.  I was not drunk.  Maybe my high stilettos made me walk like I was?

But seriously the bouncers there were so snobby.  Sure kick the girl out that paid for a VIP table, but not the sketchy drunk obnoxious dudes that were trying to get drinks off of us.

Eff you Shrine and your snobby bouncers that didn't even bother to reason with your customer.  That night, I felt like they just tried to find ways to get our money, but act disrespectful at the same time.

Not my cup of tea. We had made reservations weeks in advance for a VIP booth. We still had to wait 30 minutes in line?!?! With reservations and a credit card on file. I would have really liked it more if I was 21 to 25 years old but unfortunately I am 30 years old and felt like a very old man!  That being said the women or should I say young women were all very beautiful and very well dressed. I would have really enjoyed this place 5 years ago! LOL!

There is so much to like about Shrine.  The restaurant itself is really attractive with lanterns, Buddhas and other Pan Asian appointments.  The service is very good as well

The food on the other hand needs some help.  We had the Hoison Chicken and the Cod.  I dont remember tasting anything unique...nothing not a flavor, texture or even anything remotely distinctive

Shrine is a beauiful place to have a drink and see beautiful people...but the food needs some help

I'm torn on what to rate Shrine. It's probably more like a 3.5...but then my review is based on being in VIP two nights in a row.

Girls and I were up for a bach party....the first night we hit up G Spa (SO good) and Scorpion Bar. We intended to stay at Scorpion Bar, but after realizing it's not the best place to dance (and seeing a 40something cougar get wheeled out of the bathroom for being too drunk at 10PM), we decided to head over to Shrine. We had to pay a 10 dollar cover and then headed to the bar. It was ridiculously crowded around the bar...but the dance floor was not so much--yet. As it filled up it got harder and harder to move. The girls and I were getting frustrated and ready to leave...when poof, we were invited in VIP by a nice gentleman. From there our night was SO MUCH FUN. Plenty of dancing room, free drinks and fun times with the girls.

Second night, we had our bottle service pre booked since our group was larger. We were a little more cramped than the night before...but it was still a good time.

Would I have as good of a time if we weren't VIP? I don't think so--the dance floor is small and people are stuffed like sardines on it. The club tries to be a Vegas club--I have to agree it does remind me of Tao--but falls just short.

I'd go back, but only if I can do VIP so I have the room to party with my friends.

I showed up with a bachelor and bachelorette party last weekend to Shrine. Girls got in but they rejected all 5 guys for being in a bachelor party. Shrine, you suck.

I do want to commend the bouncer who helped me out from diffusing a situation with a sketchy dude.  Thank you for doing that!

Other than that, it was an ok nightclub but too much house music.  The DJ loved his remixes and the club LOVES strobe lights.  I felt like I was in one of Usher's music videos.  The DJ teased you with great hip hop music for 8 seconds then made his own blend of digital music.

The bartenders are speedy and organized.  The dance floor is tiny with such a large bar and wrap around tables.   I don't think I would pay for a table here or a $20 cover charge on a Saturday but it was worth a shot

    Nice atmosphere and decor.

I guess we were early at 6:30PM tonight but service was slow anyway, despite a nearly empty room. Friendly staff, cute girls too. But they all seemed to be hanging out in the back room more than working the floor.

The all you can eat $20 special is not sushi, but rather a limited selection of rolls - spicy tuna, yellowtail etc. For a bottomless pit, this may be the way to go, as did two of my friends. But I chose other items from the menu, as I wanted more fish than rice.

Sashimi tray was meager, nay, downright stingy. Was that really $16 for 5 thin slices? Quite an artful presentation, though. But hey, next time put some fish on it please? Salmon sushi was delightful, the best fish of the night for me. Yellowtail sushi was  just OK. Again meager slices of fish. My friends got full and had tabs 30% less than mine.

At least the beer was cold!

Interesting place... Trying to copy TAO in Vegas with the Asian club / restaurant theme thing, but turned out to be a little more than a PF Changs with a dance floor.

In an effort to avoid the steep $20 cover and line, my friends and I decided to have an 8:30pm dinner upstairs at the bar then walk downstairs to the club area after.  This wasn't happening. The bartender explained that we needed to go back outside, downstairs, and then re-enter. After dropping over $100 (party of 4) on food and drinks and being in Shine before their 9:00pm deadline for cover, we were wrong to assume we would be entitled to free club entry. I would somewhat understand if the club was already full or a big time DJ was spinning, but there were just a couple bachelorette parties milling around the floor at 10:30pm. The bartender *kinda* explained it had something to do with a separate liquor license. I didn't understand it being an Indian reservation-governed property where you can drink everywhere; they had rules about something like that. Oh well, so we just skipped the club and I'll take back my 3 Yelp stars.

The food (see pic) was decent, ordered the skewers (beef & chicken) app and salmon sushi. While the sushi was great, the skewers were kind of skimpy (still delish), but I didn't expect too much for the price and I really wasn't that hungry.

    Side notes:
    * Small TV's in the bar so don't expect to go here for the big game.
    * $6 Sam Adams, $7 Corona, no drafts, and the Scorpion bowls looked friggen yummy!!
    * Accepts Dream Card Points
    * Attractive, attentive staff (I could see where Yelpers would think they were pretentious)
    * Nice line up for international DJs. Absolutely on par with NYC, Boston, and Montréal.
    * All you can eat sushi Sunday-Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm (read the fine print)
    * Closed Mondays in the fall / winter
    * Close to the MGM Grand Hotel elevators (can crawl back to your room if needed)
    * Avoid the bottle service and save your money for the craps tables. Bet on the Don't Pass line at the MGM because it's full of tourists & tough guys that can't shot dice.

I will start off by saying this just isn't my kind of place. Doesn't make it bad but this girl and Shrine are not a good combo. They seem to attract the young early 20 somthings that are into being VIP's at $300-$600 a bottle for the luxury of having a table. I guess that would be OK if you got a bunch of people together......with that said I think it is sad that they don't leave a few tables open for people wanting to buy drinks on a per drink basis. Not everyone is going to want to have the same drink- our group of 6 there were two wine drinkers (me being one of them and I had a beer as my 2nd drink), a couple of martini's and a tom collins.

I liked the decor. The waitresses working the empty VIP tables seemed like cookie cutters of each other. Dance floor was small. We left after a little over an hour because 5 out of 6 of us didn't really want to be there. We went to another place where we had more fun .

I really enjoyed myself here, good atmosphere and music. We went on a friday night, ladies got in for free before 11pm but we showed up around 12 and paid a $10 cover. They definately have a strict dress code, a guy in line in front of us was wearing a nice button down shirt and slacks but was denied because of his black boots.
I removed a star for the ridiculous prices of drinks.
I ordered a long island for me and my sister the bartender hands us the drinks and looks at me, not telling me the total but I just handed her my card since the music was super loud. The bill came to $30.. FIFTEEN dollars for one 8oz drink made with cheap booze? Had bottles of bud light for the rest of the night which were $5 each. I don't think i've seen so many bouncers at a club before.  The dance floor was very crowded and most of the club is blocked off for VIP tables.  I thought it would be fun to get a table for my sister's birthday but after reading some of the reviews of people getting ripped off i'm not so sure.

Overall, I would definately come again, had a great time but this is rural Connecticut not NYC.. $15 a drink is a joke, next time i'm just getting beer!

Well, I am not entirely sure what the $20 cover gets you once you get into this place.  Maybe the bartenders wearing corsets and the hot dancers doing their moves.  I really don't know.  Very tiny dance floor so that there is no room to walk across and a 'VIP' section where supposedly you can order a $300 bottle of vodka.

It all seems very snobbish and pretentious. Folks, you are in freaking CT, not Vegas, no matter how much you pretend.   The music was ok.  One nice thing is that there is a smoking section that is kinda outside with a fireplace to keep warm, but unless you are in Foxwoods and have to go to to a nightclub, I would skip this place.

My review is based solely on the food - didn't stay around late enough for the resto to turn into a lounge/club.  That being said, anybody who enjoys a good meal should resist the urge to enter.  The space itself was nice but the food and service was subpar at best.  My buddy and I split the duck buns and boneless spare ribs appetizers ($12 and $11 respectively).  I ordered the miso atlantic cod and he ordered the beef lo mein.

Duck Buns - unfortunately the duck was shredded and sauced into oblivion that the meat was unrecognizable.  It could have been chicken or tofu for all I know.  The buns were so gummy that they became stuck in my teeth.

Boneless Spare Ribs - the first time they came out they were ice cold.  It was as if the chef took them out of the blast chiller, microwaved them for about 10 seconds and served.  We sent them back of course.  After being thoroughly nuked, the ribs came out slightly warmer but seriously chewy - kinda like thick cut spare rib jerky.  There was a fancy sea salt on the plate with a nice spicy mustard.  The mustard could not overcome the the tough pork though.  Nobody apologized for the mishap.

Atlantic Cod with No. 5 Miso (whatever that might mean).  Atlantic Cod is generally on the bland side, but I figured the Miso would really brighten it up.  Not so much.  The miso was rather flavorless and it appeared to be smeared on the fish at the last second, as more of a topping than a glaze.  It sat atop baby bok choy and white rice.  Talk about a pile of tasteless food.  Took me about 10 minutes to flag down my server to bring me some hoisin sauce to dip the food in so that I could get it down.

This place is a far cry from Buddakan or Tao, which I presume is what the owners are going for.  Other than taking our order, the server was nowhere to be seen again until I flagged her down for the hoisin.  The place appeared to be run by a bunch of teenagers (a la TGI Fridays) who had no clue.

Before gratuity, the bill was $80 for the 2 of us (we drank only water).   Avoid.

Dude. I had one of the most disappointing meals that I've had in a long time here. I was so stoked to eat at Shrine. One, because we don't have a whole lot of bourgie Asian restaurants around here, and I was excited to enjoy a high-end interpretation of some Asian classics. Two, I had walked through the restaurant and club back when MGM had just opened, and loved the design. I was stoked to return and enjoy a meal there. Three, I was attending a show at the theatre and we wanted to eat in a restaurant in the casino so we could take our sweet time.

I made reservations for 6pm, but it became very apparent when we sat down that they were not necessary. It was a Saturday night between six and eight and they had, maybe, five tables during that whole time! I understood that Shrine is a popular club, but it is very common for late-night clubs to have a successful dining experience. The emptiness of the place was an early indication of the quality of the meal that we were about to eat. The ambiance and décor of the dining room were both great; I love love love the bathrooms (black toilets! hot!). Service was also good. But the food. Ugh.

We ordered thai lettuce wraps, General Tso's chicken, and pork fried rice. I was excited to try these standard menu items so that their complexity could rock my socks compared to the standard take-out Chinese fare. I was so grossly mistaken. The lettuce wraps were okay because the veggies were very crisp and fresh, but the chicken was overcooked. The the fried rice and the General Tso's chicken was not as good as any random Chinese take-out joint - and it was four times the price! In addition, forgive me for being high-maintenance, I really believe that if I am paying thirty bucks for an entrée, it shouldn't be a. garnished with iceberg lettuce or b. just thrown in a bowl with no regard for presentation? I am no cheap bastard when it comes to food, but this was just...ugh.

Luckily, the show that we went to see (which featured the top three Elvis impersonators in the world!) TOTALLY made up for the mediocrity of our meal.

Drinks can be a bit expensive but hey, if you made your way to MGM Foxwoods, You were planning on splurging anyways. Good times. No cover when we went.

There are a few things you need to know about my taste for sushi. Yes, I will eat more average level sushi/sashimi if the price point is right and I will ENJOY said average sushi. Sadly, this place put a much higher price on their sushi than the actual quality of the sushi can ever meet.

The only quality sushi worth it's price was the lobster sushi which was very fresh tasting and very flavorful (perhaps because lobster is much fresher in this part of the world?) The fish sushi was rather sub par for the price. It wasn't as bright fresh as I hoped for such a high price. It was more like my neighborhood sushi place which charged half that amount.

Calamari was not as fresh as it should be. Unless they used a fish oil sauce (which I doubt they would in Connecticut because American taste buds are not used that flavor), this calamari actually had a weird fishy after taste! That should concern anyone reading this: Don't order the calamari.

Edamame was the only truly edible thing and had a normal taste. As usual, Edamame was overpriced. This is expected, however. If you purchase Edamame in the summer, you could have steamed your own for pennies.

The Restaurant is just so not worth the prices they charge unless this is the ONLY sushi place in all of Mystic. In that case, I guess they have every right to charge whatever they want.

Decor is lovely. The servers are friendly and very accommodating. Club seemed bumping. But this is only a review for the Asian food they served.

Clubs always seem to get either really great reviews or really bad reviews and this club isn't any different. Eight of us reserved a table which was in a great location. The price we were quoted was the price we paid. The wait staff and security were excellent. We had a blast! We just wished the place stayed open later...

I hate this place. No way will I ever step foot in it. We had made birthday reservations for this place THREE WEEKS in advance. The credit card was held $150.00 for three people for VIP. Shrine calls us the day we are arriving at Foxwoods to tell us that they need to cancel the VIP because they can't accomodate three girls. They can only accomodate six for the same price. Explain to me how that makes any sense? They were being paid the same amount of money but since it was less people they refused to do it after they held the credit card for three weeks and confirmed the reservation! The manager Bob was an absolute idiot. We talked to a lot of people at Foxwoods workers and not who told us the place was extremely over rated and a waste of money. They basically told us our money wasn't good enough because we weren't famous as Bob the manager put it. I'm pretty sure his nickname should have been Dick instead.

Yes..this club is reminiscent of TAO in Vegas, but on a much more tamer scale. The Asian themed decor is nice and the huge bar is centered, so it's easy and quick to get your drinks. Plus, it doesn't get as crowded here as the clubs do in Vegas. The dance floor was a bit small, but we came here on a Friday night where they had a Bebe fashion show going on, so there was a small runway smack in the middle of the dance floor. There are plenty of tables lined around the club, so bottle service would be good to have on a happening night (which I hear is Saturdays).

At 10:45pm, there was a short line to get in. During the 5 minutes or so we were waiting, the bouncer came up and down the line, informing guys who didn't have dress shoes or collared shirts that they wouldn't be able to get in. We were able to use our free entry passes even though it was after the 10:30pm cut-off time. Otherwise, cover was $20 I believe.

The restaurant was great: excellent service and a menu that appealed to fussy eaters. The wine list made me really happy as well as the food. We shared the Pu Pu Platter, sushi, General Tso chicken, and the broccoli and sweet potato sides. All fantastic.

Later in the evening we danced downstairs. The DJ was awesome and set a great vibe. The club had their velvet roped off tables surrounding the dance floor with plenty of waitresses running around.

I've wanted to go to Shrine before MGM Grand even opened and for no reason I always "liked" the place before I even had a chance to visit. When I actually did, I realized what I liked about Shrine... well... I like TAO (in Venetian in Vegas)... and Shrine felt like a copycat, a less cool version of TAO.

The interior design at Shrine isn't too bad, and the lounge-y seating arrangements are good for groups and quite comfortable. The semi out-door area is a nice addition to the place as well. Food here is not bad, although you are paying double the price for fried-rice, sushi, edamame and such, as you would elsewhere. The drinks were pretty good, I especially find Sake Sangria tasty and refreshing. They do "All-you-can-eat" sushi rolls between 6-8pm for $20, which is a good deal if you can eat a lot of sushi fast--but remember to read the fine prints in the back of the flyer!

The bar-tenders were friendly, down-to-earth and chill when I visited. The waitress/ female staff were HOT HOT HOT in their "uniforms." Too bad if you go on a less eventful night the guests can sometimes be a disappointing crowd. But they seem to have special events here at lot especially on the weekends, and they've had some good DJs and famous party boys and gals to spread their fame.

If you are at Foxwoods looking for some fun besides Gambling, I'd highly recommend Shrine. But don't forget, you are in Ledyard CT, not the Sin City.
