This usually isn't my thing but after reading LC's obnoxious and inaccurate comment I felt compelled to speak up. Â I live 3 miles from Sidelines and have spent many nights in there so I feel I have grounds for my opinions.
LC, you're an idiot. Â Sorry. Â First of all it's Brenden and not Brandon and Brenden is never *anything* but professional, courteous, friendly and willing to go way above and beyond. Â I've seen it, I've experienced it. Â Every time I've been there he's been a part of the overall good experience.
I've also eaten enough of the food there to know it is quite taste and quality food on a steady basis. Â Even the best of restaurants have off nights, perhaps you went on one but to complain about greasy fries and say your husband wanted 5 Guys instead makes no sense to me, that's grease in a bag.
You weren't owed anything extra, the fact that anything was offered is a testament to a place that cares about its customers. Â Perhaps you're just one of those that makes a habit of complaining in hopes to get a free meal.
I wasn't raised around here, Sidelines is one of the few truly good places I've come across in my time. Â The staff is always friendly and smiling, they're always willing to the the extra mile on a special order (I'm picky) and the one time I had to send something back for being too hot (entirely my fault, I ordered HOT), they were gracious and there were no problems.
I have also yet to find the drinks anything but satisfying and fair in their alcohol/non-alcohol ratio and have been given a few buybacks which they don't have to do.
The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and jovial, Brenden is the star of the place and a dedicated Manager who genuinely cares, the food is really yummy and it's just a fun place. Â So do yourselves a favour, ignore LC and go to Sidelines. Â Tell 'em Kittyn sent you.
Shame on Brandon the Manager of Sidelines for making excuses for an unsatisfactory meal.
Watered down martini was sent back. Heavily greased french fries, cold ,rubbery Chicken Wings and my husband's hamburger smelt sour.
After a courtesy call to the manager Brandon had a litany of excuses such as a big party was being catered .Really? He offered to take care of us next time we came in which we did a week later . What we got was one round of drinks. Big Woop!
I 'm suspicious when I read restaurant reviews that are so negative. I am not THAT person. We are locals who rarely dine out.
This coupled with the fact that my husband wanted to have dinner at Charlie O's or 5 Guys I insisted we try Sidelines.
Sorry this place is associated with my dear NY YANKEES.
Never again and I'm spreading the word to everyone I meet.

After a long summer day (spent mostly at the Red Hook town pool) we wanted to get something to eat. Â Now, when it is after 9pm that can be quite a challenge in Red Hook. Â I had driven by Sidelines twice, but had never stopped in so we (three adults and four kids) decided to try it. Â First off, this is a review for only the apps since the main menu is unavailable "late" night. Â It was Thursday night, so we got to experience both Wings Night AND karaoke. Â We ordered 20 wings (medium spice), mozzarella sticks, an order of BBQ wings and the Texas cheese fries (no bacon please) along with a large cheese pizza.
The wings were good, meaty and hot enough to make them worthwhile. Â The cheese fries came with bacon (didn't make the vegetarian in our group happy after he ate some), the BBQ wings were tasty and the mozzarella sticks were standard. Â The pizza was think crust and excellent and we wolfed it down. Â I had a mixed drink and we had some beers for the adults and soft drinks for the kids. Â
Service was VERY friendly, but kind of slow. Â It was not too busy, but it took an inordinate amount of time to get drinks. Â I couldn't figure that out....and we had to flag down our waiter to place our food order. Â As I said, he was a very friendly guy, it just took a while. Â
The highlight was the karaoke. Â We had a great view of the set up and there were some outstanding performances. Â It made for a fun evening. They do karaoke Thursday and Saturdays.
Ambiance is typical sports bar. Â Lots of memorabilia and numerous flat screens. Â We had no trouble watching the Mets beat the Phillies in the bottom of the 9th....Yeah! Â There were some annoying strobe lights in the dining area, but they shut them off when we asked. Â
So, Sidelines looks to be a good edition to the Red Hook eating scene. Â Prices were reasonable and the food was decent. Â Again, we didn't get to sample the main menu...when we do I will add to this review. Â Oh yeah, the one thing we didn't order (though I wanted to) sounded positively fascinating. Â It is billed as Thanksgiving Dinner in a ball. Â Basically, it is turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes rolled in a ball and deep fried and served with gravy. Â Sounds great, doesn't it? Â My wife would have filed for divorce right then and there if I had ordered it....oh well.
Great sports bar, pub, super friendly fun atmosphere for adults and the whole family, the chef is very talented and worked at very good rastaurants in manhattan, the food is tasty , fresh good ingredients and very well seasoned, the chef knows food the menu is diverse and very interesting for a sports bar, the pull pork sandwich , the burger and salads are the best I had in a while, the area needed a place with great food in a fun very casual setting, people from Red Hook,Rhinebeck,Tivoli,Rhinecliff should come and have some great food and a great time, great place Welcome to the area!, hope this restaurant is here to stay for a long time.
