Taste Budd's is just what the area needs. It's friendly, affordable, easy to get to, and above all very tasty. I go here and usually get the breakfast sandwiches or the breakfast specials. Good coffee, delicious desserts, too. As long as I will be in the Red Hook area, I will always go to Taste Budd's.
Review Source:Taste Budds, every Monday, 6-9. Â Knitting group on the comfortable couches. Â Last night I had their butternut squash soup. Â I asked them to serve it in a mug. Â No problem! Â It was amazing, very nicely seasoned. Â My favorite: Â A medium (24 oz.) iced (half the ice) chai latte. Â OMG!!! Â
Favorite Taste Budds quote from my young teacher friend: Â "The reason I moved to Red Hook: Â Taste Budds Cafe. Â
I love to see elementary kids come in with their Mom, or Dad, or both, and sit on the comfortable couches and read a book, next to a Bard student with the MacBook Pro, deep in studious thought. Â I love gazing at people hooking up for the first time. Â It's more than about the food. Â It's about the intriguing background music, it's about the experience, the mix of folks, that linger. Â The staff are warm, helpful and interesting. Â It's more of a slow food experience, to chat, to think, to linger. Â And, what's wrong with that?
I love Tastebuds! and I haven't even gotten to have the full experience of the place yet! The food is wonderful! the atmosphere is casual and fun. Coffee....excellent! Very important! I always read that there is live music and things to do there, but I never get the chance to get down there. They are very big in the community doing local street fairs, the big County fair.
You want good coffee, great food and a laid back atmosphere, check them out!
