Okay, we were part of a hiking group and were a bit apprehensive about going to a place with only 2 stars.... Â BUT! Â It was a lot better than anticipated! Â They were real pros considering that a sudden influx of people (30) showed up. Â They were courtesy and quick to serve such a large group. Â Food was awesome, (we ordered the brisket). Â The coleslaw wasn't what I expected, but it was pretty good.
They had a nice selection of beer (as opposed to just Budlight, Miller, and Coors).
They had a nice patio and the blacksmith across the street was awesome! Â Very friendly environment!
There are some things I like about this place and some things, not so much.
The meat is pretty good.
The staff is friendly but inefficient.
The sides sound good, but miss the mark in flavor and texture.
The deserts (cobbler ) was cold and a mush of slop.
The fountain drink mix is off and lacks carbonation.
The sauce is good.
The atmosphere is getting better since they now have A/C.
They need a more efficient tray and basket collection system. They along with dirty dishes get piled on a table in the corner of the room. Not the best look.
