I've been here three times. The breakfast was great. Next time my husband said the chicken fried steak was good but not great and the third time --- the rolls were outstanding! The chicken and dumplings were wonderful! You are not going to get King Sized portions at Sissy's like you do at chain restaurants. I will be back. Think, "home cookin."
Review Source:Living nearby, I have been here several times. Food is always great, and the service surpasses most other places. Today was no different. My hamburger was juicy, and my bun was toasted perfectly. My friend had the patty melt which was just as yummy. Rolls while we waited were so fresh and tasty with a hint of yeast smell. We highly recommend the onion rings! I think the main reason for the 4 stars is the friendly staff. Today especially...we got ready to leave and our waitress brought us to-go cups filled with sweet tea. Wow! You cannot say that about any other place.
Review Source:I make several trips a year from Longview to Austin, so finding a good, new place to eat on 31 is always a treat. Sissy's hits the spot. Â
This is basic, down home cooking. The day I went, the specials were chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and chicken fried steak. They had calf fries and fried bacon for appetizers but I skipped them. Bottom line - it doesn't get more down home than this.
The specials were all very good. My kids ordered sandwiches and they were deemed "good."
They have lots of sides to choose from and most were great. I really liked the loaded mashed potatoes and so did everyone else (dang it!).
I got the chicken fried steak and it was pretty dad gum good!
The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable.
If I lived in or around Browsboro, I would wear this place out.
