The Sixth Street Bistro & Loft

This place rocks! Service was excellent, and the food was delicious! The half rack of ribs were huge and delicious. All local food. I also had salad and beef satay which was so good! The owner was there helping out and talking to customers. You could tell there were a lot of regulars! Definitely will be back!

I know there are mixed opinions on this place, but I have to say every time I've been here - with a group of friends or on a date (with my husband) it's been wonderful.  We come here when we want a pricier/romantic night out and ask to sit down stairs.  The rest of my review is geared toward downstairs because I think you get a different experience depending on where you sit.
Their food is always top notch - I think it's the best I've had in Hood River, but yes it's spendy.
It can get a little loud here, but the candle light and small room help keep it intimate downstairs.
The wait can be a little long, but you never feel rushed when you are sitting.  The service is always great if you factor in how busy they are.
In summary - I love coming here a few times a year.

Delicious. I had the linguine special, my mother had the pad thai and my father had the rib eye special. It's not a thai restaurant but the pad thai was the best pad thai I have ever had. I love thai food and I try to go to a lot of thai restaurants but seriously. Best pad thai. The linguine was delicious as well, and the steak was tender and juicy. The best part of the whole dinner was the bread. So soft and warm and herby. Mmn. We didn't get dessert because my family was "too full" (they can't hang) but I bet it would have been good. If I'm ever in the area again, I will make it a point to eat here again.
