As Sweetie said, "This is an excellent case of what it was," which is a southern lunch counter with a hot dog and sandwich menu. The slaw and chili dogs are really quite good. And, dude, a hot dog with chili, cheese, onions, slaw and mustard is $1.89.  Most folks seemed to order a pair, which we would recommend, too. Pepsi products on tap and Coke products in bottles, including real glass bottles.

I guess the nostalgia factor is the point in eating here because the hot dogs aren't very good, the chili is from a can, the buns are from the super.  Very quaint though.

Another absolutely iconic Southern chili dog joint - and make no mistake, it is a joint, and a tiny one at that. Folks who come need to understand what this place, and others like it, are - they serve a Southern chili dog that consists of a red wiener, meaty chili with some flavor, on a soft googy bun, with a healthy smear of mustard, freshly cut onions, and/or a creamy cole slaw.

They do that here, and if you are eating there, they give you your hot dog on a napkin, not on a plate, there is no bath room available, and there is no lemon for your water.  They have other sandwiches, but why bother. If you don't adore vintage Southern chili dogs, you'll want to pass this place by.
