The asshole owner of this shithole fired an employee for helping a woman who was assaulted and almost raped. The owner (his name is Simon) said that helping the woman was not the bars problem, as the attack on her happened outside the bar. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT! The man who owns this place doesn't care about a woman nearly being raped! DISGUSTING! He fired a security person for helping her and calling 911!
Came here last week with my friends because this seems to be the only billiard I'm norco area. Â First impression...place was empty and it smelled kinda bad. Â After ten minutes, it didn't bother me anymore. Â We ordered finger foods to snack on while shooting pool. Wings and fried zuchinni were tasty, fries were average. Â The guys had a pitcher of beer. They seem to have a full bar. Â This place is not an upscale billiard/bar but the good thing about coming here is the pool is usually free as long as you order drinks or food.
Review Source:This place was pretty pathetic. I go along for the ride, and we needed a night out. It felt like being in a high school party or college house party. Â It was super awkward. Â Everyone was dressed in jeans and t-shirts or hoodies, and no one had any style or anything. Â I could tell that a few of the men had their eyes on me, but my sister had it pegged when she said "no guy in this room has the balls to approach you". It was true...
The drinks are served in super manly mugs I don't know why on earth they would give a girl a mug so large. There is a dance section of the bar, Â that its obvious no one uses ever. The music was very 90's flashback, which was decent...
The billiard part is decent, although the tables are so close together.
I would never choose to go back here. I'll try every other bar and billiard first.
I love this place. That being said, I try to avoid it on a Friday or Saturday night. It just gets too packed and no good if you actually want to play pool. Other than that, the service is great, the bartenders are attentive, good selection of draft beers, decent mix of people which also means you get a variety of good music on the jukebox (I've grown more tolerable of country music because of this place). And the free pool. This place is definitely a good time.
Do be wary of the bathrooms. Been here a couple of times and there's still only one stall where the door actually closes and they're always in the same state of disarray :(
Stumbled upon Slicks a few years ago and still love going there. Very friendly regulars and employees. It's free to play pool as long as you're drinking(Sun-Thur, Fri-Sat till 7pm), how can you say no? Especially with their happy hour deals that go all night(Sun-Thur), $3 schooners and $3.50 for Rum & Coke or a Tequila Sunrise, 40 beers on tap, good food, darts, and electonic jukebox.
Slicks will always be my first choice. After not going for over a year I went in with some friends and Kiera, my favorite bartender, still remembered me and treated me like I never left
It's always hard to review a bar because everyone goes to a bar to get fucked up. I've been to Slicks many times these past few years. i really don't mind this place. it's got decent prices and free pool on certain days as long as you have your ID to let them hold onto it. Not a  bad crowd as well.
First of all, I'm a punk rock kid so coming to a place like this feels different. This place is definitely a bro bar. That's not bad though. They've evolved past those sniveling high school jerks. I feel at home here, but that's probably because I've spent a good deal of time in Norco.
Everyone is pretty much friendly. No matter who you run into, you'll always see a smile, but that could be the alcohol. Security ain't bad, but they suck with faces. On more than one instance they didn't let me back in until I proved to them that they had my ID. Underage kids like to drink too.
I like the atmosphere a lot just because most people don't complain. I can put on some awesome metal that most people would hate and nobody will say anything about it. My only warning is when they lower the music. Their loss. I got beer, pool, and friends to make up for that.
Slicks isn't great, but it's a good place to stop at when you get off of work. As far as dive bars go, Slicks is the only one in Norco really worth going to without feeling like a sleazebag. 3/5
Its okay, just like the tap selections Big selection of imports and domestics! Its also a full bar, Crowd isn't diverse enough for me and the people always load up the juke with too much country music. About 10 tables and a dancefloor. Bathrooms are disgusting, they reek of piss and they were all flooded. Â None of the doors closed or locked! it was quite barbaric.
Review Source:A couple of my friends and I went to Slick's last night for a comedy show. Â It went wrong from the get go, as the comedians & Slicks had some type of miss communication, and they were not expecting a comedy show. Â However, after a phone call from my friend, who knew one of the comedians, the show was back on. Â
I had read the reviews and this certainly is a "Dive Bar", but it wasn't as awful as some of the reviewers stated. Â There was a decent crowd for a Thursday night. Â I guess they didn't have a cocktail waitress because we sat there for about 10 min. before my friend went to the bar to get our drinks. Â The drinks weren't bad. Â There is really no ambiance at this place, but if you like to shoot pool, there were quite a few tables, perhaps 6 or 8, in the adjoining room. Â We didn't order food, so I can't comment on that.
The comedians were terrible, which I don't blame on Slick's (unless they book them again), but they weren't funny, and we were out of there by 10, before the show ended. Â Oh, and that decent crowd I mentioned...they left before we did. Â I think the only patrons left were the comedians themselves. Â SAD. Â
I don't plan to return because there are many bars closer to home with more ambiance and better service.
If you're under 22 and over 21, this is your place. Actually there were some older, you know, upper 20's mid 30's but that's about the ceiling for age here. Â Not that that's bad, just letting you know who you'll be hanging out with!
In the back (side?) Pool hall was ok, a decent number of regulation pool tables in good shape, sticks were decent although a lot of people seem to bring their own. The bathrooms back there were, as another reviewer said, pee soaked, but I've been in worse.
it was the front part that was odd. A Â DJ playing some dance, there were maybe 3 people on the dance floor at any given time. Seemed kind of sparse and this was about 11 pm on a Friday night. People kinda drifting in and out of the front door...
The draft beer selection is pretty decent, not bad on prices and the bartenders pay attention, won't let you go dry.
Didn't eat there so no idea what the food is like.
Aside from the draft beer, we had a better time at Slam Dunks....sorry Slicks
This place is a dank, urine soaked hell hole. I am being as literal as possible. I'm all for a dingy dive bar, but it's the regulars that make or break a bar.
Every time i have been there, I have had the unexpected pleasure of watching some drunk "bro" puking all over the floor. Even the scummiest dives will kick a drunk out before they get to that point, but I've seen it here on several occasions.
Haven't been there and not seen a couple of stumbling idiots getting into a drunken fight over something ridiculous. I dunno if their security just doesn't give a damn or if they don't know what to do, but this place gets out of control. And not in the fun way.
This place just screams "I just turned 21, drive a lifted truck and haven't been anywhere outside of the Inland Empire to realize that there is better stuff out there." If i could rate this with zero stars, I definitely would.
i'm a big promoter of neighborhood hole in the walls establishments, Â but the last shift change on bouncers has left a bad taste in my mouth...and quite irritated. Â
this place usually has a high turnaround on staff and usually they are nice. Â but the last 2 guys they hired are a bunch of jokers. Â
I had my name on the waiting list for a pool table. Â as i'm getting by drink from the bar i see that my table is being given to someone else. Â
bouncer1 sees me coming around and tells bouncer2 that that was suppose to be my table. Â bouncer2 replies "what he don't know won't hurt him", Â my buddy however was standing right behind them. Â he over heard them. Â so i call out the bouncers. Â they make a lie that those other guys were first on the list. Â however they just walked in 15 min after us. Â also there was no list. Â as the bouncers weren't even keeping tabs.
good thing the owner and i are cool with each other and forced them to apologize.
However i'm taking one star away....
I go here at least once a week for lunch. The food is actually REALLY good. All of it. The cold subs, the burgers, the wings, chicken strips, I've had it all. The bartender Dolly is super cute and always gets a coke ready for me when she sees me walk in. Great service and great food. I don't really drink there...I did one time on a Saturday after work and the Captin & Coke I had was really good. They have a ton of beers on tap. They have a regular weekday lunchtime crowd. You'll see the speed channel and sports on the TVs around the place. It's not super nice or anything but it's really actually great for what it is.
Review Source:This place is so... Norco. blegh. Â If you drive a lifted truck, you'll love Slick's!
I don't remember much about the two times i've been here but not because of what you're thinking, but because i've tried to block anything "Norco" out of my mind. Â And now i've decided to write a review of Slick's. Â Good job, Tina.
Anyhow, the drinks are totally cheap. Â And there are like a million pool tables, which is cool. Â The pool tables are in a room separate from the bar area. Â But the neon lights and the location (center of a strip mall on main streets) are kinda gaudy. Â At least they don't have line dancing. Â Yeehaw, bro!
Great variety of beers on tap. Â Nearly 40!! Â I have not tried the food, but it looks good. Â Fried stuff, burgers and sandwiches. Â Nice pool tables, good music in the juke box(punk, rock, country it is all there) Â Friendly bartenders and freeway close.
**Update* Â I tried the burgers, they are great. Â Good size. Â About as good bar food as you can get. Â A bit pricey though. Â $6 without fries. Â You can make up for it with their happy hour beer. Â $2.75 for a large mug of domestic.
