Well, my wife and I stopped by after having a very nice meal at Sarafina's in Arnold last Friday night. We live in Murphys on a part time basis, so we really don't know of many places to go up there.
We've passed this place before many times and was just curious, of course, so we stopped by. Didn't expect much but what we found -- I wouldn't put it in the words of the last viewer -- was just an old bar with some very friendly people, good drinks, made by a very good friendly female bartender, that were priced very reasonably. We heard the history behind the place and the story of Smitty and Noreen's restaurant, which no longer exists, and that they were an older couple now, etc. Smitty does come by and plays the piano, as we were told and he's pretty good they say.
They informed us that they were planning to have music on the weekends, so we'll go back to check it out. We thought it might not be a bad place to stop by and have a drink and hear some music.
We weren't disappointed at all . . .

This place used to be owned by the same people who owned Rossetti's in Wallace. Â We used to love eating here. Â They had some of the yummiest homemade Italian food, especially the minestrone. Â YUMMMMM! Â It looks like a total dive but you can't always judge a place by it's appearance. Â
Unfortunately they no longer have the Italian restaurant. Â Plus they were closed for years before they opened a dive bar. Â So minus three stars for taking away the minestrone!
