The BEST Q anywhere. The wife and I always share the 3 meat combo and always have enough food left over for at least 1 more meal. They have the BEST BBQ we have tasted. Kansas city does not have anything that even comes close to Smokin Joe's. Excellent food, very generous portions. We always get ribs, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. All their sides are Great as well. You have to try the strawberry delight desert. It is off the hook. Forget the rest, SMOKIN JOE'S is the BEST. They moved to a new building so they now have a lot more room inside. Very nice. If this place was in Oklahoma City instead of Davis, I would eat Smokin Joe's BBQ 2-3X a week.
Review Source:Smokin Joe'sRib Ranch has some of the best bar b q I have ever eaten. Located on Highway 77 south of Davis Oklahoma. DO NOT be confused by the location to which I was first directed. That location is about one mile from Davis and on the front porch was another large sign with an arrow that directed customers to continue down the road. Believe it or not there was second sign about  a mile further and it too directed one to continue even further. The real place is about 3 - 4 miles south of Davis on US 77. The restaurant is rather rustic. You go to the counter and order you meal. There were two complete meals offered, one was small for $11.99 and the other a full meal for $21.99. I opted for the smaller meat selection and that was one-half chicken. Did not see the fine print as chicken was an extra $2.00. This chicken  must have been the size of a small turkey. It was hugh and the chicken was moist and just fell off the half side which I received. Others ordered the ribs and brisket and both were excellent. Came with two sides. Got the potato salad which was made with dill pickles and the cold slaw which was excellent. The beans were also very good. Drinks can be purchased for $1.99 however we noticed that getting  a glass of water would cost you 50 cents. We always write about those places that charge for water and frankly we think that is "tacky". Some folks due to diets cannot drink soft drinks or tea and they get penalized for asking for tap water. When meals cost $13.99 or $21.99 tacking on 50 cents for  glass of water does nothing to invite the customer back even when you serve great bar b q.
Review Source:Overall great bbq: HUGE sandwich (big enough for a couple to split), tasty cobbler, and good potato salad. Â My only complaint is the guy who took our order (a teen) overcharged us (we ordered a drink, 2 sandwiches, and 1 side, and instead he charges us for 2 drinks, 2 sandwiches and 2 sides). Â It was a little pricey (about $10 a piece), but the food was great.
Review Source:This place is mecca for meat enthusiasts. Went inside for a piece of peach cobbler and left with a plate of sausage that lasted me for about 3 meals (sides included: cole slaw, pickles, onions and bread). Delicious! The ribs, the half chicken plates and all the smoked meat served around my table looked great and neighbors seemed to love their food. The scene was a bit out of the Flintstones eating brontosaurus ribs ;)
Good prices, excellent service. I can see people driving from far away just to get a meal there. Highly recommended. Not much for vegetarians (perhaps a grill cheese sandwich and dessert)
I stopped here on a Friday night right during the rush period, and they were busy! Excellent quality of food is why. I ordered it to go and had to eat in my truck. I had the 2 meat combination plate with ribs & bologna. It is rare to find smoked bologna on the menu in Texas where I live  now, so I had to order it. I really love the combination. Ribs were excellent and the hunk of bologna at least an inch thick! HUGE! Lots of onions & a dill pickle. Large quantities and excellent tasting food...don't  miss this hidden gem!
Review Source:On another adventure out to rural Oklahoma, my friend took me to Smokin' Joe's. Â And it was totally worth it!
I have rarely seen a business SO busy at 11:30 on a Monday morning. Â You know that if all the Okies are piling into this little place, willing to eat outside in the heat, then you KNOW that this place would be good.
Because it was so busy, and there were no places to sit inside, and we were heading back to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, we decided just to order take out. Â We shared a meal and this is what we had:
Sliced brisket - we got a little bit of a fatty piece, BUT that give it the flavor right? Â It was very good.
Okra - we ordered two sides of this and it was WAY TOO MUCH. Â It was so good though.
Potato Salad - Not bad. Â I am not a fan of sweet pickles as much as dill, but this salad was pretty tasty!
The food was excellent, and it has a lot of county character. Â You can't beat that!
You want good BBQ look no father. Â This is some of the best BBQ I have had in all of Texas and Oklahoma. Â It seems pricey but you really get a lot of food. Â
We went about 3:30 PM and there was only 3 people in front of us, but, by the time we sat down, the line went out the door.
We ordered the Pork Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, Ribs, and Ribeye. Â The Pork had enough meat on it for 3 sandwiches. Â The ribs were tender, juicy, and smoky. Â The Ribeye reminded me of something you would see on the Flintstones. Â the flavor ran through the entire meat. Â The steak was so tender I cut it with a butter knife. Â The chicken tenders were good, not great. Â The French Fries were very, very yummy. Â fresh cut, light, fluffy and tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. Â
The potato salad was bland and a very small helping, the Cole Slaw small as well and very average. Â But the BBQ Sauce.............OOHHHH, OOOOHHHH, OOOOHHH so very very very yummy. Â You could put the on a shoe and I'd eat it.
So if your ever in, near, going by ..... Davis, OK.....Stop in and get you some yummy BBQ. Â But bring your appetite, your gonna need it.
I've eaten here about 4 or 5 times recently. Â They've got excellent brisket and big fat ribs, all with lots of smoke flavor. Â No doubt that this place uses real smoke. Â The fan driven smoker is right on the side in plain view. Â And everybody is right about their portions. Â The sandwich should definitely come with extra bread to make a second with all the meat that falls out of the first one. Â And I love the sides, the cole slaw with just the right amount of creamy dressing (not dripping and pooling at the bottom of the cup, the excellent pintos. Â Great BBQ - not as good as the place in Driftwood TX but still very good. Â And Ilove that their sauce is not overly sweet and that they have a hot version.
But this review is focusing on the 16 oz "smoked ribeye." Â I have been curious about it since my first visit sveral months ago, and this past Saturday, wife and I went in at dinner time to try it. Â I was hoping they'd either give you a metal steak knife or that it was very tender as they only dispense plasticware. Â Also, they asked us if we wanted horseradish with it. Â Horseradish with steak? Â Hmmm. Â But when they brought them to our table, OMG!!!!! (And I thought I'd never use that term!!!!) Â There were slabs of beef on our trays as big as an entire side of beef. Â And ribeye? Â Anywhere else would call it Prime Rib. Â It was absolutely delicious, probably the best piece of meat I have ever eaten (the porkchop at P*erry's in Houston is a close second). Â It was almost orgasmic!!!! Â The quality of the meat was definitely prime (hence "prime" rib) and the smoke flavoring was absolutely killer. Â It was served au jus, and after initially refusing the horseradish, I had to go back for it. Â And the plastic fork and knife was more than enough to handle this monster, cut it like butta. Â The menu says these are served medium rare unless ordered otherwise. Â Not knowing, we ordered medium, but they were still very moist with a little pink in the middle. Â Will definitely let them come out medium rare next time, now that we know exactly what we're getting. Â And there will definitely be a next time!!!!!
I had the Chopped Brisket sandwich, should've asked for extra pieces of bread for all the juicy delicious meat. Â So much meat I could've made two more sandwiches. Â
Get there early cause lots of people call in take out orders or the drive through, they have run low on ribs before noon. Â They are fall off the bone tender.
Greatest BBQ in all of OK!
Here for work and went with some work folk. Â Def. a local establishment but very popular. Â Also if you like to live in an RV...you can just park in the back :)
Got the BBQ Chicken...very good! Â The sauce was what really hit home and you get some sides to boot. Â I got fries and the texas toast (why not call it Joe's Toast...I get residuals if they change the name...dibs!). Â The fries were like the high quality crunchy kind and I was surprised at how good they were.
All in all...you can't miss the place...and the food is great! Â Huge proportions and they really make it easy to take your food home. Â Also, since it gets packed, you may end up sharing a table (NYC style) so you'll meet some local folks.
First!
Outstanding food, outstanding prices.  3 of us  ate well off of one 3 meat combo platter and still had leftovers.  Now keep in mind that the three of us are huge eaters.  We all ate well, and for under $20 total, including drinks. Â
Best BBQ i've had in a long time. Â We had the chicken, sausage and brisket, all smoked to perfection. Â
The only downside is the VERY limited seating. Â Long lines and few chairs make for a long wait. Â Get there early.
