This place is a gem! Love love love Snooty Fox! Went here for my birthday and def. do not regret my choice! I wish their happy hour specials on cocktails was a little better... But hey I would still go here after work even if they didn't have a happy hr... It's that darn good! I can't rave enough about this place! The artichoke dip has to be my fav appetizer and the chicken and pesto flatbread is def must try !
Review Source:Disclaimer: Â I have never dined here, only frequented the bar for cocktails. Â
I came here last night for some after-dinner-beverages, and like always received noteworthy service. Â Whenever I come here, no matter what day or time I always receive prompt, professional, and accommodating service from all of the bartenders. Â I have been here for Sabre's games, weeknight drinks, New Year's Eve, and private parties. Â Everything is well executed by the staff at Snooty Fox. Â When you are there it is evident that they strive to take care of their clientele. Â Before you even finish a drink, the bartender is asking if they can get you another one (obv- in a separate glass so you can finish your current beverage). Â
The atmosphere is contemporary, attractive, and lively. Â The crowd ranges from younger 20-30 something professionals, to an elder crowd as well. Â Early in the night it is a little more low key and spacious, with plenty of seating at the bar. Â Later around and after 10pm the bar and surrounding area fills up, sometimes making it difficult to maneuver. Â
I have yet to determine why I haven't eaten here since I love it so much. Â It just usually happens that I come here after already eating dinner somewhere. Â I do however have a gift certificate so I will hopefully dine here soon, and report back to all you yelpers!
Mama Mia! Â Thatsa Spicy Meata-Balla! Â MIGHTY DELICIOUS too! Â They're called "The Best Meatballs You've Ever Had", and I think that might be true! Â They're described as a "family secret recipe served with ricotta and fresh bread for dipping". Â Well, let me tell you that they just may be the best meatballs that I've ever had (and I'm a self-labled meatball freak!). Â PERFECTLY spiced, generously sized, just the right density, and covered with AMAZING tomato sauce..... I could have eaten dozens of 'em (well...not literally... they're pretty big)! Â The ricotta on the side balanced the meat flavor wonderfully, and the bread WAS super fresh. Â The whole thing perfectly complimented the bottle of Malbec that the two of us shared on Friday night after a night at the theater.
I had never been to the "Snooty Fox" before. Â Their slogan of "Where Dining Meets Nightlife" was pretty fitting. Â It was about eleven o'clock and the place was hopping. Â People eating, drinking, and partying made it quite the upbeat place. Â Our waitress was super friendly and helpful... and honestly appeared to enjoy being there (a rarity in most restaurants). Â The owner came out to see how we were enjoying our food (and that was appreciated too!).
The menu had a great selection of appetizers, salads, flat-breads, and entrees. Â After our meatball we shared the "Chicken Pesto Flat-bread" (chicken, pesto, vine ripened tomato, spinach, and garlic topped with mozzarella and balsamic glaze). Â It was HUGE! Â Probably enough for three people to share... and it was BEAUTIFUL. Â Everything was fresh and tasty, but I found the balsamic glaze a teeny-tiny bit overpowering. Â
The "Snooty Fox" is now one of my go-to post-theater destinations. Â Or quite possibly my ONLY go-to meatball destination. Â MMMMMMMMM....... Meatballs!
As a young black business man, I was extremely offended by the racist attitudes of management and some employees here. Â I live around the corner from SF and went on Friday for a drink. Â I was turned away because I had on tennis shoes. Â If that were the policy, I would be ok with their decision. Â However, I couldn't believe the obvious racism when at least 5 white men walked by me without any hassle...wearing worn down shoes, while I had on nice designer shoes.
I am no thug or gang banger. I have two undergrad degrees and two masters degrees; all of which are from Ivy League schools. Â I was not dressed in an inappropriate manner, and it is obvious that the only criteria I didn't meet that night was skin color. Â
I am not some super activist, but I hope you all don't support this place or this type of treatment of minorities....or anyone for that matter. Â I don't believe in racism and it sickens me that I had to experience this bigotry my first week in Buffalo. Â Thank you Snooty Fox for showing me where not to spend my money...
My husband and I came here on a Sunday Industry night and were very impressed. Â We just got drinks and appetizers - if the entrees are half as good as the apps, then they have it goin on. Â The artichokes were awesome! Â We also went with stuffed peppers - which were delicious. Â Drinks were good - various martini options. Â Classier place in general. Â Great for happy hour or late night.
Review Source:This is will be a fairly short initial review, more to come later...
I really like this place. Â Sal is always a great host.
I have always had very good service and the food has always been well prepared, especially the Snooty Steak. Â
I'm not much of a trendy bar, loud thump thump music kind of person so I tend not to hang out with the crowd after my meal so I can't really speak to that aspect of the business.
Quick Review: Â decent food, a little pricey for what you get. Â wouldn't eat here without a coupon/gift certificate. Â probably won't return for the night scene unless for an event or something.
Long winded review:
Hubs and I went here with two of our friends for a mini bday celebration for yours truly. Â Again, we had a http://restaurant.com coupon (can't beat em!) and was able to take care of $25 worth of the bill with our $3 coupon. Â Nice!
We ate late, purposely, so as to check out the night scene. Â We arrived just before 9pm. We were the only ones in the back dining room for the majority of the dinner, but another couple arrived as we were leaving. Â I had heard many mixed reviews from various friends--most boasting about the food, but dissing the after hours crowd. Â
The Drinks:
I had the desparate housewife--fruity with champagne or something in it...delish. (but was small for my $10 bill.)
My friend had a pomagranate mojito--tried it, loved it. (seemed more worth $10)
Hubs had a bloody mary--said it was better than most he's had
Other friend had jack n coke...standard.
The Food:
Table bread and dipping oil--standard, but definitely welcomed! Â We were hungry!
The Snooty Salad--deliciousness! I'm a sucker for good salad toppings...
"The best meatballs you've ever had": Â Pretty damn close.
Artichoke dip: Â different than usual, really creamy...served with toasted bread...yum
Almond crusted chicken and angel hair: Â chicken was delightful...pasta, good but nothing to rave over.
Shrimp scampi: Â Huge grilled shrimp, pasta, again, nothing to rave over.
Buffalo Chicken wood fired pizza: Â didn't taste it, but my friend was pleased.
Chicken Cacciatore: Â Hubs gave his stamp of approval (he's hard to disappoint though) Â I didn't try it cuz CC isn't really my thang.
Canolis for dessert..the waitress brought out a plate of four, we devoured them and asked for a second helping all around! Â (they were small! haha) Â Romeo and Juliet's are better! ;)
The Service:
Our little blonde waitress (forgot her name oops) was really nice, knew her job, and did it well. Â Very attentive, offering up suggestions for drinks as well as dessert. Â She said she has a problem with eating the bread in the back. Â I don't blame her. Â
The Atmosphere: I really liked the feel of the place, but if there was a full dining room of patrons, I may have felt like it was cramped. We were the only ones dining at that time, so it worked well for our group. When we arrived, there were about five people at the bar. By the time we were done eating, the five had multiplied to about 100. I was surprised by that! Also, my friends were all correct in saying that the food was good, but the after hours crowd is a little ridiculous. Lots of single old men just standing around by themselves--one actually put his face in my boobs as I was walking by WHAT?? lol ....lots of gold digging 30 year old girlies giggling in their respective circles eyeing up the potential man-candy ....and a few cougars sprinkled in the mix lol the dj was mehhh...we stayed for one drink after dinner and scooted.
the place may be alright, but the patrons are crude, unsophisticated and rude Buffalo people. Â They go to the bar to get a drink and then they house themselves there for the entire night as though they had made a reservation for the spots. So that noone else can get a drink. Â you almost have to get into a fight with some typically hot-headed Buffalonian each time, just to get a drink.
Review Source:On the list of classier places in Buffalo, Snooty Fox is a restaurant that turns into a lounge with a solid DJ at night. Â It's more of a place for the late 20s-30s crowd which is good when you don't want to deal with the idiots on Chippewa. Â $4.50 for well-drinks, no complaints from me.
Review Source:The old row-house that SF is situated in had potential, but the execution is poor. When you walk in, long bar (which curves all the way around the corner) is on the right, and a single window-seat table is on the hard right. But straight ahead is just open space... like, there should be tables or something there, but it's just... empty. Feels impersonal. The bar itself is handsome, though after pondering the attractively-displayed bottles for a while, you'll realize there's nothing special on offer.
Which brings us to the wares. We had a group of five and over the course of three rounds each, the bar tender -- I'll call him "Chad" -- demonstrated that he was hired for his looks rather than his mixology skills. Every one of Chad's pours I would consider "short". At one point I ordered a Manhattan that was undrinkable. [Aside: Asking "up or rocks" with a Manhattan is like asking "gin or vodka" with a martini. If I don't say "vodka martini", I'm asking for gin. Likewise, if I don't ask for a "rocks" Manhattan, I want it up. Chad, however, didn't even bother to ask; he just made it on the rocks.] The Manhattan was replaced with the shortest pour of scotch I've ever seen, served in -- wait for it -- a tiny little brandy snifter, rather than an Old Fashioned glass. Cheers, Chad.
Had a much better drinking experience at the subsequent stop -- the bar at Hutch's. Won't be back to Snooty Fox.
Great place to meet friends for a drink and talk, at least during the week. Â A very handsome bar stocked with all sorts of interesting liquors, and a reasonable wine list (with more than the customary merlot/pinot grigio/riesling that is evident on all of WNY's wine lists). Â The tables downstairs are strange--sort of like those wierd-ass booths that the have at Le Mode/Le Metro that I hate.
Good looking people hang out at this place, including me.
I haven't tried any of the food here.
