I've been going here for years, late at night to hang out with friends, drink & listen to music. Only recently have I tried the food. Wow. The food here is amazing. So far I've had the enchilada's, fish tacos & steak fingers. Everything is great! I'm not sure why I was so surprised but it's a happy surprise.
Review Source:Burger and a beer special, nuff said. Â Late night happy hour, fun staff, great dynamic. Â Don't be offput by the 'club feel' from the outside. Â This is a multi-tiered establishment, rock and roll up front, club in the middle, and an awesome lounge in the back. Â My only regret was not finding this place sooner!
Review Source:Went here for a Roller Derby after party about a year ago. Â The atmosphere is fantastic and the place was packed the entire night. Â Although I can't remember well, I think the drinks were pretty cheap, and strong obviously. Â The band there was very good, not our typical style, but fun and great to dance to. Â Met some great people, had a blast. Â Tons and tons of free parking, love. Â The parking lot is rough when you're really tipsy and fall on your knees (ha).
Review Source:So happy we found this place on the road! My boyfriend and I were in a frenzy trying to find a TV to watch the 100m sprint mens final in the Olympics. My boyfriend ordered Steak and Eggs from the brunch menu and said it was super delicious with the perfect amount of cooking and seasoning. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad that was tasty and fresh, but the lettuce was a little too doused in dressing.
The restaurant is big and the ambiance authentic. Three TVs or so to watch your games! Cool place.
If you are looking for fun in Colorado Springs on a Friday or Saturday evening, go directly to Southside Johnny's!
Don't be fooled by the biker bar atmosphere, it is far more than that. Â There is also a separate disco and a margarita bar in the rear of the establishment!
The dancing is fun and the live bands are a blast. Â Try the fish and chips with the home made tarter sauce...delicious!
BAHAHAHAHHAH this place is just amazing for none of the reasons you might expect. Â First, they always have incredible live music. Â Second, the cougar crowd is just the best show in town. Â I have seen 50 year old bleach blonde cougars trolling for 20 yr olds on the regular. Â It is really my favorite place to watch people try to get a one night stand hooked up. Â Perhaps it is mean to like a place because the people don't know how silly they look, but that is why my friends and I go. Â The food is average, but the drinks are great. Â Everything you could see as a possible negative here only adds to the reasons you should love this bar. Â Cougars in prom dress on a Saturday night in Colorado Springs is surely a show anyone would pay 5 bucks to see.
Review Source:I've been to this place more times than I care to admit. :-) The menu is good pub fare...for salads I like the seared ahi tuna. Everything is good here. The staff are friendly and fast. The clientele definitely runs the gamut of demographics: Old, young, people in business suits and biker gear. Great place to catch a game on TV or hear great music. Johnny runs a great ship and you may not know it, but he might be bussing your table or slinging drinks behind the bar.
Review Source:Nice big open bar. The bar is long, plenty of tables and booths.
Went in for a few drinks. Did not eat here.
They Do have a scratch ticket machine!!!!!
They have live music often.
Pool Tables, TV's and lots of mounted/stuffed Aninmals heads all over the place...totally a man cave.
Looks like a fun place to hang out during football season.
Food is surprisingly good, especially the salads. I wasn't really expecting much, but I've been really pleased both times I've been there. The food was fresh, the flavors went well together (love the fried capers on the salmon salad) and they were very flexible with item substitutions. Â The sweet potato fries are great.
The Patio is great during the day, but I'm not sure I'd even try it on a weekend night judging by the crowd I've seen out there. Weeknights and weekend days are fairly tame though. I haven't been there for a show, so I can't comment on that aspect. There has been some pretty interesting people watching both times I've gone though.
Will definitely be back.
I was there for happy hour on a friday. Â Packed with middle-aged guys all coming from work. Â Seemed like it had good atmo but not much in way of a 'scene' for an out of towner. Â Good happy hour specials and a good beer selection.
Met the owner that was super nice and told us a story about how he was late getting in because he was helping a few regulars get their motocycles out of the shed after they drank too much the night before. Â Showed me that he cared about their well-being and did the right thing for them.
I guess the place has 3 or so seperate rooms for varying style of music and activities. Â At 5pm on a friday only one room was occupied.
This is one of the places my dad and I go to when we have father daughter lunches. The burgers are awesome (especially the cheeseburger), the fries are tasty and according to my dad (because all I ever order is the burger) the open faced turkey sandwich with green chili is VERY good too! Johnny's is a biker bar but its friendly for everyone. The owner, Johnny, is one of the nicest guys you will meet in Colorado Springs. The beer is always cold and the atmosphere is fun. Check it out sometime and you won't be sorry.
Review Source:Want to meet MILF's? Â
This probably is the best bet. Â Tons and tons of MILFs looking to meet younger guys in this joint that I was shocked!!!!
Great food, cheap drinks (compared to NYC standard) and lots of trashy and easy-looking MILFs all over the place. Â By the way, I am not kidding about this.
I would definitely come here again. Â Wink wink :P
Surprisingly good food for a place known more for it's biker atmosphere at night. Â My office is nearby so we go to Johnny's frequently for lunch. Â The food is consistently good and the same for the service. Â The tuna filet salad is a treat, but the place is known for it's great burgers and other traditional bar fare.
Review Source:A very diverse group gathers here! Â Miami Vice look alikes and tipsy ladies who are ready to mingle. Â The front bar was packed with the live band, the middle area was cool with DJ music kicking about. Â The Paradox lounge was mellow and I feared if I went in there that I'd fall asleep.
The bouncers were always on the look out for rowdy drunkys and fall outs.
The staff were attentive and I enjoyed myself.
Southside Johnny's is one of the new bars that has opened up in Colorado Springs. Located on South Tejon (hence Southside...clever huh), Southside Johnny's actually consist of three different sort of bar/venues all linked together, including the Paradox lounge. Thus this place has a lot going for it, namely:
1: An eclectic mix of people. The first area is a bar with adequate seating and food, pool, and fairly kid-friendly, while the Paradox lounge usually has a dj and dancing.
2: The mirror in this place makes you look like a god/goddess. Seriously, I'm not sure why somebody has stolen this yet.
3: The food in this place is pretty decent and decently priced.
4: The 3 venues is a great idea
5: You can find Johnny himself wandering around checking up on people, which is always a nice touch. He has also been useful I've heard in the past for getting rid of obnoxious drunks, again a plus.
The only reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service is hella-shoddy. It takes ages to get your drinks/food and the waitress screwed up the order not once but twice....ouch
