One of the best, if not the best, hamburgers in Bozeman. Â The pub grub is generally good, and I particularly enjoy the reuben sliders or regular size sandwich. Â The menu offers the option of soup over fries for those who are concerned with such matters and I have yet to have a bad bowl of soup.
The minuses are few, but enough to lower the star rating. Â As a sports bar it can get as noisy as you can stand, but much depends on the drunken comportment of the watchers of any given television screen. Â The mixed drinks from the bar are somewhat amateurishly created; it seems the mixologist is probably more comfortable pouring beer than putting together a decent manhattan.
But enough negative claptrap; this is a very nice off campus bar, with the most friendly, attentive staff you could ask for. Â I lunch their often.
Specs is one of the greatest bars in Bozeman.  Not only is it ON campus (pretty much), but the beer is cheap and cold, the food hot and delicious, and you can see any sporting event going on any of their multiple flat screens.  Several of the commentators above wrote that it was classless that they took out an ad against the Griz.  Well, let me remind you that you are in a bar in Bozeman, on the Bobcats'  campus.... and let's not forget that any Griz fan would do the exact same thing (and have done) in Missoula.  This review shouldn't be based on whether you're a 'Cats or  Griz fan, but on the bar.  My dad (who is an avid Griz fan) loves Specs because he can sit with me (a 'Cats' alum) and be greeted with jeers and cheers.  It's one of the few bars in Bozeman where Griz fans are actually welcomed, and it's a great place to go after a long day of classes (or on a Game day!).
