Spindleshanks

I have been going to Lake Tahoe since I was a small boy., I know every restaurant and Gin Joint in the North Shore. I must have driven by this place 1000 times and never went in. I know why. My son and I show up with no reservation. They tell us there is a table in the Bar we can sit at but we make it clear we need to get done in one hour. 20 minutes goes by. No wait staff. No water. No  Bread. No nothing. We hail a woman down three times for bread and still no bread. Finally some guy comes over and takes our order. We told him we want something simple and fast. Capacci, Salad and some Chicken or something. 20 minutes later the starters come out. They are decent. I asked the guy where the rest of the food was and he said they were busy. I walked up to the owner of the place and told him he should be professionally embarrassed, handed him $50 in cash and told him to use the change on how to run a restauarant. We walked out. I will never go back. The one good thing is I ran into an old friend of mine as we were entering. Steer away from this place. It is awful in all respects.

This was the most ridiculous dinner I've ever had. We showed up for our dinner reservation at 8:45 and were seated fairly promptly.  The menu looks really good so we all picked what we wanted to order. The waiter showed up and let us know they were out of everything but 3 things on the menu.  That sure sucks but we all ordered from those three things. Them the waiter came back and told us that they were also out of the halibut, so now they're down to two entrees. They were out of hamburger. How is it possible to run out of hamburger?  Just drive to Safeway and buy more.  The waiter did his best but it was just such a ridiculous experience.  Also, even the two things they had were actually no good. Overall the food was horrible but we're all still laughing about the experience.  So thanks for the jokes.

A party of 5, we dined with them on Friday, July 5th.  Reservations for 8:15 and were seated fairly promptly.  Slow wait staff didn't take our order for 10 min.  This should have been our clue to leave.  Salads came 10 min later and entrees 70 min after that.  It was such slow service, we stood up and were going leave, just pay for the salads and wine when our entree's came.  All the entrees were warm but not hot - too much time under the heat lamps?  The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and we were well past the peak dining hour.  We voted the food a 3 and the service a 1.  We saw other diners leave before their entrees were served and fault ourselves for not doing the same.
