"'Nother day, 'nothah dolla'."
We pulled up in here and settled in at the bar's southern end. This place is spacious with central seating, the bar and sandwiched betweened pool tables. Games on the screens.
A philly cheese steak & Stella for me. They had good grub and the waitresses' service was very nice. They get lots of regulars and have fun with it; you can tell. That's cool.
Be advised.
Resist possible staring. ;-)
I was struggling to find a local restaurant to have breakfast at in Mount Vernon. Â I didn't want to go to a chain...but I seemed to be having problems even finding non-fast food chain restaurants in this town!
So about the sixth time I drove past the Sports Keg, I saw their sign advertising breakfast. Â Plus a ton of cars out front. Â And more pulling in as I did.
So I figured it had to be a locally known joint.
Inside it was a bar. Â But it didn't really have that depressing "bar in the daylight" feel that a lot of these places have.
The waitress was by herself and seemed busy with everyone, but she got to me pretty quickly. Â I ordered eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast. Â It came out pretty quickly, was hot and pretty straightforward and nothing at all to complain about it.
I would have liked to have gotten a refill on my soda, which I didn't get, because I couldn't get her attention. Â Same for getting the bill and getting it paid...she just would NOT look my way. Â I don't know if she was just distracted or what, but by the end of my meal, the rest of the restaurant had pretty much cleared out, but she still didn't look at me or come my way. Â I didn't get it.
It was cheap, though, and pretty decent. Â I don't know that I'd make it a destination joint, but I sure didn't mind eating there.
Just wish I could have gotten a refill on my $2 watered-down drink-mixer soda.
Don't judge a book and or sports lounge by it's cover/street appeal. From the exterior the place looks average at best, but then maybe that is the look they are going for.....only the cool kids/locals hang here LOL.  Nonetheless the food is great and about 90% of the staff are great.  Larissa, Alex, Samantha, and Tubby definitely understand what customer service is all about  Also, when the weather is good up in the NW the patio is AMAZING, great for a party, bbq, etc.  It's almost like Mickey D's, you once you have been there you know what you are getting/paying for :)
Review Source:Good food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...their "fryilater arts" are rocking pretty steady with the Jalapeno poppers and good onion rings. Â Great place for food, drinks and pool by the hour. Â Awesome service too, with a friendly wait staff and bartenders that don't skimp. Â Lots of HD TVs playing sports from football to horse-races and the obligatory UFC bouts.
Review Source:This is the least attractive sports bar in the area. The ceilings are way too low and the whole place has a strip mall feel to it. The drinks are nothing special and the beer selection is lacking. The food is mediocre at best and the service is slow. The only thing going for it is the large beer garden in the back.
Review Source:great fish tacos and on weekends breakfast omelettes and good chicken fried steak w/ great sausage gravy - huge sports bar with online horse betting - over 20 tvs- all kinds of cable tv sports - pool tables, even a long board shufflboard- huge outdoor area - i don't recommend their burgers or their hot wings, bar service is great, slow table service - fun place, usually drop by weekly
