A sports bar in every way... minus the tight shirted waitresses. Â I wanted a place to watch the Blues game this past Friday. Â Sports Page is tucked away on Olive behind the Dairy Queen at the 141 intersection. Â For 7pm on a Friday I was surprised at how slow they were. Â They had a handful of customers but more tables were open than not. Â Sports crap adorned every wall... a hood of a Nascar, Mizzou, Blues, Jayhawks, Rams and Cards gear, tons of neons. Â The walls are white but you barely can tell. Â Every inch is taken. Â The place is much bigger than it seems from the outside. Â They have a main dining area, a bar area, and a game room. Â
I asked our waiter... who may be the owner or manager too... what's best on the menu. Â He quickly replied with wings, burgers, and the Ruben. Â We ordered one of each. Â The wings were good... a la Culpeppers or Tucker's. Â The burger was char grilled. Â I liked it too. Â The Ruben was ok. Â They also make some pretty good house chips for the sandwiches. Â All in all good food, good portions.
While this place doesn't offer anything much better than some of the other sports bars in town, they do what the do well. Â And you want to root for them. Â Obviously locally owned, with invested workers who care about the place.
Very friendly bar with great service. They have several large televisions perfect for watching sports. Happened to be there when the Cardinals clinched their play-off spot on the last day of the season in 2011. They gave all of the patrons complementary champagne to celebrate. Typically bar food. I love the toasted ravioli, wings and the burgers. Love the friendly atmosphere.
Review Source:DO NOT GO HERE. I just moved next door and thought this would be a good sports bar to go to watch the cardinals games. It was not. It started off as an alright atmosphere, needed to be updated but was fine for the price of their food. The food was alright, there were 6 of us and only 4 were eating. My gf had their main salad and it was just normal, a lot of lettuce. The rest of us had their "famous burgers" and they were decent. Kind of dry but fine. The whole situation turned for the worst when we asked for our check. It was a monday night and the owner or manager, man with mustache, sort of harassed us for leaving before 9 and said " it will wake awhile to get your check together." And he made true to his promise, and proceeded to clean the place, while it was pretty empty, and ignore us. Our server then brought all 6 of us our check and decided not to ask us if we were going to split it or what, just dumped it on us and walked away. I had to go up to the bar from our table to ask us to split it, no big deal, but she just gave me her calculator and told me to add it up and to put on a piece of paper what goes on what card. After we did this she took her precious time in running our card taking near 30 minutes just to pay our check. When she overlooked the paper we split the check on, the work we did for her to complete her job, she just shook her head at us and walked away. To say the very least we did not tip her after this and she proceeded to run outside after us and YELL AT MY FRIEND IN THE PARKING LOT " I'M ADDING IT ON ANWAY," because he did not fill out his tip line. This is my first post ever on a restaurant and I have never been more furious with an establishment.... btw the beer didn't have that good of a special compared to other sports bar I have been to around town
