Ah, the Galleon.. slightly dirty, a little run down, still as smoky as ever (somehow they have an exemption on the ban) and with 1980's style half naked dudes in the women's room. Â Just what a pool hall should be.
Free darts is usually where you'll find me when I'm there. Â The boards and darts could probably stand to be replaced, but .. umm.. it's free. Â They also have electronic dart boards in the arcade section, if that's more your thing. Â Free Ping pong, pay to play pool, as well as a shuffleboard and air hockey table - both of which are a little expensive to play IMHO. Â There's a jukebox, so you never know what kind of music is going to be played. Â It's a pretty popular selection too, so don't drop a bunch of money expecting to hear your music any time soon.
I haven't tried the food, but the beer seems reasonable. Â You can get the 100 ounce tower of domestic beer for $15. Â It's usually full but not packed. Â Noisy enough to keep up a good Saturday night vibe, but not so loud that you can't smack talk your friends when you dominate them in Cricket :)
No cover unless they have live music that night.
This is my fav game place. I'm very competitive so whenever I need to show my beau whose boss we come here. We always start off with ping pong, then move to darts, then air hockey, then pool, then pinball so like I said there's tons to do. Oh and ping pong is free so you can't beat that! Best game place in the Lou!!!
