Level 2 is my go-to spot on Tuesdays, since I've been back in St. Louis. Full disclosure: It's a 30+ club, I'm 28, and they let me in with no hassle.

It's a well known hole in the wall, that brings out EVERYBODY. Largely Black crowd, though there's the occasional White or Latino guest as well....love it. Oh...and the parking lot fills up quickly....that's the understatement of the year. The shared parking lot for Level 2 & Goodwill is loaded by 7, shortly thereafter, the other Goodwill parking lot is full, and folks are forced to park at the old gas station parking lot down the street and walk up.

Fun atmosphere (S/O to Big Ed & all the ladies who participates in the 30 Minute Workout!) , some of the cheapest drinks around ($2 beers, wells, and most u-call-it's from 7-11 on Tuesdays), and the honey hot wings are a new favorite of mine. They've also got a $2 food menu on Tuesdays...think it's party wings, burgers, fish, and something else...but don't quote me on that.

If you're in the mood to hear some old school, some new school, and see some attractive 30+ folks, stop in.

Jason and I went here for my friend Karen's birthday after party at Level 2. It is a bar/lounge and dance club that apparently requires you to be 30+ in order to enter.

When the security guard looked at our IDs that's when he dropped the bomb about the age limit. Never have I entered a place where it requires you to be 30 years old minimum. At first when he gave me the look then looked at my ID, I told him, "I'm over 21!" (I have a TN license... some people will double check to make sure it is legit since they say I look younger than what I am.) When my friend Karen saw that we were still at the door she pointed out that we were with her group and he let us slip by. That was nice of him on his part.

I have been to plenty of dominantly African - American night clubs and lounges. I find them quite fun and a lot more relaxing than your typical scene such as Pepper Lounge and such. With this being an older crowd, they were enjoying the music overhead being played by the DJ and having drinks. A few people were out on the dance floor -- mainly women.

READER ADVISORY -  I am going to be as honest as possible in these next few lines. If this offends, I'd advice to stop reading. If you're open then please continue on...

There is no shame in my game to hang out with all colors of the rainbow. If you're not comfortable being the sole two people in a place where it is racially one-sided then I advise going elsewhere.

For me, Level 2 is really lots of fun! The DJ is spinning records and taking request. The music was a mix of hip/hop and rap with some throw ins of old school groove. They played the Cupid Shuffle and I had a ball doing that. I love that song as simple and as silly as it may seem.

There are two bars - one when you first enter, and one in the back where majority of the tables where you sat are located.

The women's' restroom had mirrors from floor to ceiling. Best advice I can give is - if you don't want to see every single hug and curve to your body in your outfit, don't wear something extremely tight! I'm telling you, the women in this place had no shame in their looks. Good for them for the high esteem!

This place also makes for some good people watching. This one drunken lady smelled like fish. She asked Jason if he had a wife and was literally following him around the whole evening. It was kind of funny because another guy came up to Jason and was conversing about how the drunken lady had been doing the exact same thing to him prior. The other guy was also one of Karen's friends.

Level 2 is a 1:30am bar, they do not charge a cover when you enter, and they accept credit cards and cash. They sell primarily liquors and beer as well.

I like this place. Assuming they're kind of enough to let us in again, I do think I would return.
