I love the Delmar Loop area it's my favorite spot to hang out and have drinks with friends... or go on a date.

I came here a few times with friends and mostly I like the music and atmosphere. The food was good too, I had their pizza... then their lasagna on another occasion. But the food isn't something that is a WOW factor. But it's not disgusting either.

They do have good drinks though! :)

Met a couple friends for lunch. Adam was our server, and he was exceptional.

We all enjoyed a tasty iced tea while perusing the massive menu. Really, there's something for everyone here.

    We ended up with:
#1 got the Cicero Burger ($8.59)  -- An 8-ounce charbroiled burger with grilled onions. He got fries as his side.

#2 got the Breaded Cod Filet ($8.99) -- Tempura-battered and served with tartar sauce. She got fries as her side and selected garlic bread for the sandwich.

I got the Cicero Burger without bun; and added cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. I got a side salad (bleu cheese dressing) as my side.

I asked Adam for a recommendation on the cooking of the burger. I'm a medium-rare person for steaks, but not for burgers. He suggested medium-well. And then when he explained what that would look like, I opted for medium. No need to dry out the meat and cook it to death.

Fries or side salad are offered with most sandwiches at no extra charge. At so many places if you opt for a salad, it's an upcharge. Not so at Cicero's!

Onion rings or baked potato are available for an additional charge.

There are four bread options for sandwiches: marbled rye, onion roll, whole wheat bun or garlic bread.

I gotta say, all these sandwiches were served on platters, and the amount of fries on both their platters would have served a village for a week. I'm glad I didn't get them.

The salad was terrific and good-sized for a side salad. Plenty of lettuce, a little tomato and a good amount of cheese. I ditched the croutons.

This was one darned good burger. The color on the burgers was exactly the way Adam explained it, and it was perfect -- some pink.

The onions were grilled beautifully. The lettuce and tomato were supremely fresh, and more than made up for the bun.

The pickles were divine. I ate them separately. They were snappy dill chips.

I needed a to-go vessel for half my burger, and asked for extra pickles on the side. When Adam brought the container, he'd already added a separate covered container of more pickles.

A decent choice for a happy hour beer or two and appetizers.  Happy hour last till seven which is nice.  They have an interesting and large beer selection to include delirium and old Rasputin.  The bar is comfy to sit at and not too loud.  We had potato skins, spinach dip, toasted ravioli, chicken tenders and a few beers all for around thirty dollars. the food was hot and seasoned well and a good quality and portion size for bar food.  We really enjoyed the house made chips that came with the dip.   The staff were all personable and enjoyable to talk to.
