Moolah Theatre & Lounge

I love this theater, but make sure to show up an hour or more early to get one of the couches. We always go early and get some drinks from the bar (they have some really cool/yummy themed cocktails for the movies). I've only had good experiences here, and I have been 5+ times.

Bottom line: Don't even bother inviting me to see a movie if it isn't showing at the Moolah.

This has been at the top of my St. Louis bucket list for three years and I finally popped my moolerry and it was everything I hoped it would be... and more.

All I heard was "couch" and "theater", so I had no expectations. This is no artsy fartsy tiny theater with a couple couches. Oh no. This theater is the size of like 3 normal movie theaters put together. It is like a Weekends Only showroom in there, except there is no way Weekends Only has that many couches. It was amazing.  Huge, lovely, gorgeous "leather" couches to snuggle up or stretch out in. Tons of leg room. Tons of arm room. Makes it harder to make the yawn-stretch-hug thing believable, but who cares, get a chick on that couch and her pants will probably just fall off.

They also had normal theater seating, which looked pretty standard, except they had a balcony. That rocked.

My only complaint was the screen. It was angled up toward the balcony. I absolutely hated it and it really distracted me. I sort of forgot about it once I got into the movie, but it really killed the experience for me. What the fizzle. Don't give me a couch and then punish me for sitting on the couch.

This place is:
-My new favorite movie theater on planet Earth and I am not lying or exaggerating.
-My new favorite place in St. Louis.

I seriously just don't think I could bring myself to see a movie anywhere else ever again.

Get here early. We got here 40 minutes early and the previous show was still playing. We hung in some couch lounge room that was playing Fantasia (nothing like tripping balls a little before seeing your favorite summer blockbuster). People started lining up about 20 to 30 minutes before the movie. We had to stand in line and wait for them to clean the theater, which they could have done while I was in there sittin' on a couch, if you ask me.

The staff was super cute and nice. Smiley.

Wish they played more of a selection. They tend to play standard summer blockbuster "Superman"-type movies. Please start playing weepy chick flicks or bro comedies.

Never disappoints... But on the weekends do come at least 30 mins early so you could claim a good couch!...reasonably priced for all they offer!
