Went here on a chilly Friday night - pretty busy, but not packed.  We had a sample of their "Pirate Punch" or whatever and got beer instead (OK selection).  The staff was friendly, and the prices were fair.  The bluegrass band was good, and people seemed to really like the music.  The pirate theme was appropriate for the bar built into the rock.  The "Texas Sheet Cake" on the dessert menu tasted really good!

It was a hopping bar on a Sunday night. There was a live band that started off with three members completely unplugged playing bluegrass type music. At last call they had 6 people on stage and microphones. Good selection of beers at a fair price. They even had a light night menu. Next trip to Eureka Springs will be going back to the Squid and the Whale Pub.

Stopped in for a quick refreshment, and to get the scoop on that nights music.  Very nice bartender more than happy to help and give info.  The wife and I had a glass of Pirate Punch yum,  a rum packed drink.  It is on the small side so if you want to sit get there early.  Would come back for another visit.

Great little dive bar with live music, darts, etc. Gets crowded quick so if there is live entertainment (and there always at night), be sure to grab a table early. One complaint is not really any kind of dance floor. So, you simply have to make your own :) I also didn't like that they allowed a child in the bar at that hour. I get that they had family in the band but really, its a bar. No one under 21 should be allowed. Why card the rest of us?

I was in Eureka Springs for a wedding at the end of September.  The bride loves pirates and when we found a pirate themed bar we knew this was meant to be.

It was a Wednesday night and we arrived around 6:30 and are promptly greeted by our waitress, Sarah.  I started off with a vodka tonic and we ordered some chips and salsa for while we discussed our meal options.  Sitting around the bar were quite a few locals enjoying a drink and each other's company.   While on the stage a band was setting up for a show.

The menu was full of Mexican dishes.  Just to fill you in on me, I'm from Southern California; I love and appreciate good Mexican food.  Nothing is more disappointing to me than bland boring Mexican food.

I ordered one fish taco and one beef taco.  They were amazing.  I couldn't believe that all the way in a little mountain town in Arkansas I would find tasty, well made Mexican food.  The salsa was delicious!  (later I found out that the owners had lived in my home town of San Diego and brought those amazing culinary skills with them to Eureka Springs.)

Sarah recommended the Pirate Punch, which is a signature drink/secret recipe.  We ordered a round, it was fruity, and so good we ordered another round.

After a very satisfying dinner and a few drinks we got to enjoy a fabulous band that was on tour from Los Angeles.  The music complemented the atmosphere so well.  We got to dance and had one hell of a night in that funky little bar.  If I am ever back in Eureka Springs I will be back to the Squid and Whale Pub.
