Stacker's is kind of a hit-or-miss bar in Amherst. Â On some nights it's a real hoot. Â They have several pinball machines in the back game room, and when there's enough people around they will have a tournament where the winner gets free shots for the rest of the night. Â They also have a huge selection of homemade flavored sodas if alcohol isn't your thing. Â Sometimes the service can be a bit of a hassle though. Â If Earl is the bartender then you should definitely avoid the place at all costs. Â He once accidentally used pepper instead of salt on the rim of my glass and needless to say, it didn't end well. Â If you want the full experience, make sure you order the Golden Nugget shots, it's their specialty.
Review Source:Same ownership as McMurphy's. More spacious and slightly more upscale than McMurphy's. Staff rotates between McMurph's and Stackers.
Sundays are the best here all day. Place opens at 11 and have a great bloody mary bar. Food on Sundays is VERY reasonably priced (ranging from $2-3 for burgers, chicken wings, etc..)
Drinks range from three to eight dollars. The eight being their top shelf liquors.
This place does get crowded on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights but it is well worth the wait.
Do note that the age tends to be younger UMass/Amherst college students.
