$2 Whiskey and Coke and free pool on Tuesdays. Â Aha, I've begun to understand why people go to bars even if there isn't live music! Â Megadeth on the jukebox made up for the occasional hip-hop, the folks at adjacent tables were lip-syncing to Steve Miller Band and AC/DC, Tom Petty appeared only once, and luckily no John Cougar Mellon-shite. Â
Sometimes I forget that not everyone is in bands, nor does everyone listen to obscure local music. Â And smokiness ain't a bad thing once in a while - a test of the quitter's resolve, perhaps? Â Let's call Stardust Club a grounding experience. Â Now, to get these folks to a real music club...
As an average american, I work morning hours, and I try to sleep regular ones too. This establishment, does not. I am all for the party life of downtown, and blaring music, just not soo loud I can hear it from inside my house, several blocks away. This place has made my life a waking nightmare! Downtown there are laws banning certain levels of music from being played after 10pm due to their proximity to residential buildings, but here, we have a different story, after 10pm on any given night, monday through sunday, I may be kept awake due to feeling the bass shaking the house, like a drunk frat boy blaring his cheap car stereo and sub right next to my window. I have moved to the inward most room of the house, and it makes no difference, the same effect. This place is an assault to the ears, like rubbing a chalk board against another chalkboard.
Review Source:My little hangout affectionately called 'The Dust' is what it is. It's an old pool hall filled with smoke and heartache, but I still like it. It's proximity to my home is, of course, one of the main reasons I frequent the establishment, but don't get me wrong. If you're looking for a divey bar without pretensions this is your place. People are mostly friendly and the beers are always cold. I can't speak to the ladies facilities, but for the men, at least we don't have to touch anything. Other than that, it's a cool place to hang out, drink beer and occasionally embarrass yourself at karaoke. Thursdays are also really cool as all the beers (including draft pints) are just $2 from 2-7pm. After that, they go to $3. Not bad...
