Starvin' Marvin's Country Kitchen

I drive through I-71 regularly and finally decided to stop here after reading other positive Yelp reviews.

We ate on a Friday evening during dinner and found the place crowded but not too loud. We ordered a burger (way, way, way better than the other interstate fast food burgers I grown used to along I-71) and a chicken salad sandwich.  The burger was good and is recommended.

I should point out that I consider myself to be on sort of a quest to find the greatest chicken salad and try it all over.  Unfortunately, this chicken salad did not make my top 5 list and I didn't even finish it. The lettuce was expected but for some reason seemed intrusive on this particular sandwich. I couldn't quite place what was "off" with it.

Our food took FOREVER to arrive at our table. If you're there when they're offering their dinner special, then get that because everyone else was and it seemed that everyone that came in was served before us.

The catfish looked good. I didn't order it because of another negative review on Yelp but wish I had taken the chance, given how it looked (good) and how long our sandwiches took to be served.

I finally got to try Starvin' Marvin's for lunch.  I just pulled out of Tri-County Ford and heading east down Hwy 146 when the hunger pains hit me and I remembered that I've been wanting to try this place.  I'm glad I stopped.  I ordered the lunch special of meat loaf and mashed potatoes.  It was a very generous portion for $6.99.  It was very good, tasty and fixed just like homemade.  I noticed they also have breakfast and dinner specials every day so I'm going to return soon and try the breakfast, either pancakes or eggs and country ham.
