Steamers is our first choice for a nice dinner in McCall. Â They consistently deliver great food. Always hot and always delicious. Â Our favorites are the clams, french onion soup, halibut special, chicken piccata and the rack of lamb. Â Salads are big and cold- excellent blue cheese dressing.
The wait staff is friendly and attentive even during the busy Christmas holiday week. Â Decent wine selection too.
This is a low key restaurant with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Â It's a little spendy but overall worth it.
Celebrated my husband's b'day here last night. Everything was delicious from the baked brie to the fresh salad w/amazing homemade blue cheese dressing to scallops, shrimp and steak. The staff were friendly and attentive. Loved the cozy decor and even the music was just right. You can spend a lot if you want to... OR get a glass of house wine and share an appetizer and have a salad for lighter fare. Good choices... oh, and their homemade bread is to die for. Â We're visiting from California, SF Bay Area... might sound snobby, but our standards are high for fresh choices and quality food and service. They get 5 stars across the board from me. Give them a try. You won't be sorry.
Review Source:I don't know if these people have a lot of Yelp friends or what, but this place is not worth it. Food is like having a Trader Joe's frozen dinner. The dining room badly needs a renovation and the staff is indifferent. Dinners are $25-30 range, which is about 4x the quality of the experience.
If you want to eat well in McCall this is not the place.
My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience. Â We brought our own bottle of wine ($12) corking fee and started with the tuna tartar, it was off the charts delicious then we shared a cup of French onion soup which was great then shared the rack of lamb. Â The lamb was wonderful with the cab we brought. Â Our waitress was very good, Sierra, I think her name was. Â We will go back next time we are in McCall.
Review Source:Let's start with...you cannot sit at a table that is reserved for walkins...really we are walkins. Â Â Set the tone for the meal ahead.... The filet was dry and unappetizing, I have not seen sockeye salmon that looked like farm raised salmon, and should someone tell them that rice pilaf has been out for years....! Â Okay, the rice pilaf must have been sold in bulk and it is on eveyone's list of no thank you. Â The Idaho mashed potatoes were mashed for way too long...runny. Â The entire menu needs to be modernized!
I would think that there are better places in McCall...I will not be back....save this for a desparate moment...like the only place in town that is open and you are starving!
Steamer's Steak & Seafood Restaurant is a great little restaurant with a friendly staff. We were greeted at the door by the Chef/Owner, Darrel; then served by Lori, his wife.
The menu had a variety of items from which to choose. We started off with an appetizer of spinach-artichoke dip, served with warm bread. For the entree both my wife and I went with the halibut stuffed with crab and shrimp...additionally, we had our choice of the soup of the day (new england clam chowder) or a house or ceaser salad.
If you're in McCall, and looking for a seafood dinner in a casual, relaxed environment, I'd definitely recommend that you check out the folks at Steamers.
My favorite restaurant in McCall. Â Everytime I come to town we are sure to have a nice dinner at Steamers. Â The Chef here is incredible and has always intrigued my palate with his incredible combinations of herbs and spices and medely of cooking techniques.
Steak, chops, rack of lamb, lobster the list goes on and on. Â All incredible and all meals fill an entire plate. Â They certainly dont skimp on serving size here. Â I will continue to come here when I visit McCall as this continues to be my favorite place in town. Â And by the way, they did an excellent job on Valentines day considering how packed the restaurant was.
