Was driving old 40 (National Pike) on the way to Baltimore/DC. Stopped here based on the prior Yelp reviews for breakfast. I was not disappointed. Not fancy on the outside or inside, but full of locals (always a good sign). Waitress was a bit hurried as she was the only one, but no issues with the service.
I had biscuits and sausage gravy with home fries. The sausage gravy was homemade for sure (good stuff) and the home fries were worth writing home about (you could taste the deliciousness added by the old well seasoned grill in back). I could have eaten two orders of the home fries
Wife had pancakes which were very good and an order of sausage. The sausage was even homemade (from the store next door, they grind their own). Excellent...
All in all a good stop. Very well recommended, Stop if you are going by for a good diner quality meal.
I was looking for a nice little Mom-n-Pop type restaurant along my travel route. Â I had been running along the Scenic US-40 / Old National Pike, checking out the local sights and enjoying the day's travel.
I-68 / US-40 Exit 56 found me in search of just that place. Â I happened upon Stone Age Cafe. Â Located next door to a gas and grocery, they offered a warm and friendly atmosphere for a nice lunch.
Step right in for a good home-cooked meal!!
The trip advisor comments guided us here on out way to Tennessee. Kid Friendly, clean and pretty much what you would expect to find up here. Â Food is good, portions great. Â We would stop here again! Â P.s. $20 for lunch for 4! This is a first for me! Â You HAVE to have the desert pies! Anyone, they are all awesome!
