I have been meaning to do this for a few months, and really have no excuses. Â Sorry.
For some reason, I have frequented Stones Throw a TON over the past 7 months, it seems. Â And they are due a review update! Â
While this restaurant has been in my little town of MT Laurel for over 10 years, my propensity to visit goes in waves. Â But I have been consistent over the past 7 months. Â To say the least. Â One reason is that my two sweet foodie cousins have been visiting on a regular basis (to get their hair done. Â YES. Â From Atlanta. To BHM. Â To get their hair done - more on that in another review). Â And the LOVE Stone's Throws pimento cheese and the blue cheese chips. Â And as of late, they stay the weekend and one night MUST be at the ST for dinner (along with lunches). Â
The food has been consistent. Â And really GOOD. Â The service has been consistent. Â Joe's back behind the bar now. Â E and the girls are on the floor. Â G has it all under control and everyone is happy. Â
Chef Chris has tweaked the menu to near-perfection - I couldn't stay away from the pork chop this summer and can't wait to try the duck! Â The menu changes seasonally, which is refreshing, but Shrimp & McEwen's grits are almost always on the menu!
Went there for an impromptu lunch with my daughters. Â The decor is lovely--casual and elegant, with beautiful colors and textures. Â The girls were very casually dressed but we felt comfortable. Â We loved our food---the eggplant appetizer, chicken livers, salads --even the pickles used as garnishes were homemade and delicious. Â The check was very reasonable--around $40 for the three of us. Â Our waitress was friendly but unobtrusive--just perfect. I haven't been there in forever--since it was the Standard Bistro--but plan to go back soon with family and friends.
