NEVER eat here!!
My mom (who has over 13 years experience in restaurant management,) had made brunch reservations for Mother's day, using her credit card over the phone. When we got there they had NO record of it... And instead of being apologetic (at ALL) this GOON of a "manager" cuts her off, yelling "it doesn't MATTER!" My mother quickly admonished him in front of a full house and we left.
Think about it: If that's how they would treat your MOTHER on Mother's day... how much do you think they really care about YOU or YOUR FOOD???
Do not go here if you are a single mom wanting to enjoy Mother's Day. Â I called 5 days in advance to make reservations, I was told we could sit in the bar but I explained I was not comfortable with my youngest son sitting in the bar. Â The male taking the call said he had a booth for 4 at 2pm, PERFECT! Â He then insisted I give my credit card # to complete the reservation so I did. Â HUGE MISTAKE! Â When we arrived, the hostess said there wasn't a reservation for us when I told her that I made one and was told 2 pm AND gave my CC #, no apologies, she handed me her paper and said "see if you can find it"! Â She said she could put us in the bar... we were seated and I was concerned about the fact that 1 of their employees had my CC# so I went to speak with a manager... the first 1 (a heavy set female) said "talk to him, he's the GM" (2nd person NOT to apologize...) "HE" looked at me then headed into what I assume is the kitchen area (so he didn't even speak), I asked the female again if he was going to speak with me and she said "yeah, I guess"... finally an older man appeared, he didn't introduce himself or give his position at the restaurant, simply greeted me with "what's the problem"... I told him that I was upset that they had INSISTED on my CC# to complete my reservation but there wasn't a reservation AND 1 of the emps. had my CC# (yep, I was dumb for giving it!)... his response? Â "yeah, ok, so... I don't know what to tell ya.. we don't got it". Â 3rd person I spoke to, 3rd person to not apologize and the 3rd (I assume) Mgr., to absolutely be useless.
I am in the restaurant business and I am well aware of how crazy Mother's Day can be,
I also understand that people sometimes make mistakes but to not even apologize and try to make it right is ridiculous.
If Management cares that little about their guests at the front door then I certainly do not want to give them my money.
We went to ROSEBUD where the GM himself found us a table (even though they were packed), we enjoyed a fantastic Brunch with GREAT service in a warm atmosphere. Â It did cost more, ($250.00 for 4 of us) but money was never the issue. Â I expect to be appreciated when I choose to go out with my family. Â Stonewood Alehouse made me feel like they were doing me a favor.
We just had my daughter's bridal shower here last weekend and it was fantastic. Â From the first email I sent looking for availability to the food and the servers it was just right. Â We received lots of compliments on the day of the shower and after wards how nice everything was. Â The food was very good and the banana pudding fantastic. Â I also have to add we had the best 3 servers I have ever had at a private party like this (Sorry ladies I forgot your names)
Thanks again for making our daughter's special day even more special.
