I had a miserable experience at this place. I stopped to get a cup of tea at 5 pm. A CUP OF TEA!
First, Â the manager said they didn't serve tea. Â So I asked if they served coffee or tea in the morning ( I saw the tea bags on the shelf )
- and he said "Yes but it's not morning."
So I said "can you just heat up a cup of water for me in the microwave so I can have a cup of tea ?"
After some eye rolling and fussing ( What ever happened to good customer service ??) Â He went in the back and returned with a hot cup. So far so good.
I knew I didn't want caffeine and I always carry some herbal tea bags -
So I said "I have a tea bag - can I just get a cup of boiling water?"
( I would have gladly paid $2.00 for the cup of water- I just wanted a cup of tea!)
"Fine" so he heats the water for 30 seconds -- geez Do I really have to tell anyone here that it takes longer than 30 seconds for water to boil in a microwave?
I ask him to heat the water for a minute and a half ( not like that's extra work - he's just watching the water in the microwave )
So he heats it for another 10 seconds and hands me the cup and asks me for a quarter - I give him a quarter and
I say "can you please boil it for a minute and a half?"
and he actually says "If I do that the cup will explode"
THE CUP WILL EXPLODE???
Now I am not a nuclear scientist -- but I HIGHLY doubt that the cup of water will explode if he boils water in it for a minute and a half. Then I wondered about what this cup may have been made from....
I drop the tea bag in ( waste of a good tea bag )
and sit outside for a moment with this cup of luke warm water that is NOT making tea. Â I did everything I could to not get upset about this ( But when I want a cup of tea- I really want a cup of tea SIGH )
Now I can't honestly tell you how the food is here-- but I can tell you that their spirit of unwillingness to make a cup of tea will keep me from EVER going back there.
