Lunched there for my 68th birthday. Whoa Nellie. Great wings, great pastramie/corned beef sammich, great fries, great beer, excellent service.  Pretty waitperson with great smile and sense of humor. Loved it.

Summits has cleaned up and done much better lately with both the food and service.  The last few times I have been in the food is quite good.  Of course the real reason to go here is for the beer.  If they don't have it, it's probably not poured in Georgia.

The menu is very broad and most of it is well done.  For the burger, the Kenmore is the one.  Other favorites for me are the wings and the fish and chips.

SOOOOOOO after my boyfriend pulls up to this joint, I'm looking at him like is he for serious b/c this place doesn't look like the type of place I'd typically go to (sort of run down looking, kind of out of our way to where he lives). Rule number one: don't judge a book (or in this case, restaurant) by its cover!

We went inside and sat ourselves at a booth (sign said to seat ourselves). Within minutes a server came by to give us our menus. First thing I noticed was the extensive menu with PLENTY of seafood options----LOVE!

    What we ordered:
-CHICKEN FLATBREAD: We didn't find anything in the appetizer menu that really drew us in, so we opted for a pizza to share as an app. The flatbread is EXTREMELY cheesy so beware. That might not be a problem for some people, but I can't do that much cheese in one sitting so I had to pick about 3/4 of the cheese off in order to consume. It's not your typical flatbread---it's loaded with toppings and sort of resembles a fully loaded crunchy bread with lots of toppings/cheese on top. 3 stars
-BLACKENED GROUPER SANDWICH: YUM! Fish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and came between deliccccious and fluffy french bread. I opted for the side salad as my side item...what I liked about it was instead of croutons, they use mustard flavored pretzels as the crunch. Yum!
-KENMORE BURGER: If you are looking for the king of burgers, I'd suggest ordering this. This burger is HHUUUGGEE!

Basically, if you like decently priced, HUGE PORTIONS, Summits Wayside Tavern is the way to go. I'd like to point out that our server was on point with everything. Nicolas  came when we needed him, didn't mess up our order one bit, and was super friendly.

    We will be coming back!

I like the selection of beer.

    Quick update:

Holy crap the beer is expensive. I've yet to get anything that isn't $6. At first I thought it was because I was getting high end stuff, but I even paid $6 for a pint of Guiness and something from Red Brick.

Also, the selection isn't as good as it appears, most of the tap handles you see aren't attached to anything, they're just for show.

Great food and service. The place to go if you want to be remembered.

We have mixed emotions about this place after multiple visits.  The food always seems to be good and the service always bad!!  I don't know why they cant get the server part figured out!  Every server we have had has NO knowledge about the menu or any idea what a mixed drink is!!  Like i said, we love the food, especially the buffalo calamari, but the lack of enthusiasm from their servers won't make us drive out of our way to go there.

Summits is a very iffy place. It is always loud (hardwood floors and loud televisions assure that), but the food and the service are always a crap shoot. Sometimes service is good and wings are cooked right, other times the staff doesn't remember you and the food is burnt to a crisp. Also, they claim to 800 beers but when I've asked for beers for which they have signs hung around the place, they have always been "out" of that beer. That makes me a little suspect.

We've been to Summit a few times. Service is a hit or miss sometimes but the food is good. The blue cheese chips are really good as well as the empire sandwich if you like pastrami. Their burgers and garlic fries are great too.  Wed/Fri they do trivia think they even have bingo at some point.

Sometimes I'm not in the mood for a chain restaurant. You know the places, you've been to one and you've been to them all. Generic atmosphere with little real character and plenty of yard sale crap hanging up all over the place. I went to Summits for lunch a few weeks ago with my wife and 11 month old daughter. The food was excellent with  good wings, cheese fries, chicken fingers. The sweet tea was very good, and be sure to get an extra sauce or two with your wings as they are a little chincy. The place kind of reminds me of a Taco Mac but with some character. We didn't go to the bar but looks like a fantastic beer selection on draft. There are plenty of TVs though most are pretty old, so if you need a large flatscreen HDTV to watch the game you might be disappointed. Our daughter had a great time and other than a few janky straps on the highchair the place was very kid friendly. The service was good and the portions were large, and we got out of there without breaking the bank. It's not fine dining but a great place to have lunch or to go watch the game.

DH, 11 month daughter and I had lunch here last Sunday. Plenty of TVs to be had for football watching.  Granted they are a bunch of older Sanyo tube TVs but that didn't seem to bother the sports fans.  Summits has the sports bar thing down: TVs, wall of beer taps, and a game room.  If I came here sans daughter, i might have wanted to see what ciders they had on tap and would have wanted to check out the video games. The wait staff struggled to find a high chair that didn't have broken straps/buckles.  Eventually, they found one that we could strap our darling down in.  Dh got wings and i got chicken fingers.  The fingers were GREAT and I have a high bar for chicken fingers.  Fries were pretty standard skin-on fries.  They were hot and crispy so standard is fine for me.  The tea was good; it had a nice strong tea flavor.  The service was ok, but that is what i would expect from a place like this.  The so-so service will not deter me from returning.  My biggest compliant was the sauces.  The taste of the sauces was fine.  In fact, the honey mustard was awesome. Now this is a restaurant that serves a lot of wings therefore they must serve a lot of dipping sauce.  I can't be the only person out there who likes a lot of dipping sauce.  Summits gives you this weak, tiny little plastic cup of sauce.  and extra ones cost $.79. So they are cheap on two fronts.  I am happy to pay extra for a BIG cup of sauce but not the thimble of sauce they serve.  So for me and others like me, you just have to suck it up and pay for more sauce.  The other items were reasonably priced so the sauce didn't break my bank.  Frankly, i just hope Summits' management sees my reviews and takes this criticism seriously.

Some of the best wings I have ever had. Our favorite thing on the menu is Chicko's Nachos without the Queso.

Service can be spotty. We have waited 20 minutes for a check. But most times, we are in and out of there even with large groups.

It is on our normal rotation of places to eat and the kids love it as well!

Okay, so Summit's Wayside is pretty much the best gastro-pub I've ever been to...

Firstly, if you have the pleasure of being in the area around Oktoberfest, do yourself a favor and stop in... A large selection of world Marzen-styled beers are available, as well as some of the most traditional German foods I've had the pleasure of enjoying.  For the most part, the food is generous in portion and of good quality.

Now, for the most beautiful sight my eyes have laid upon... the beer tap wall...  Yeah, a wall of taps, not but 3 inches from one another, for easily a length of 45 feet. Oh, and yeah, thats above ANOTHER row of taps the same way!  I remember hearing that it number around 186 beers ON DRAFT!

Outside of that list is the bottled beer selection: some 100+ other beers that increase in variety from Brazil to Lithuania!  Not to be outdone to the walls of beer are the full bar and the library stack style top shelf of scotches and bourbons. Simply sinful...

They have the "Passport Club' which rewards drinkers for the consumption of varieties of beer.  Signing up for this garners rewards after certain numbers of drinks, including larger pours for the base price, labeled glassware, beer steins, pull-overs, and more.  Definitely worth taking advantage of...
Hard to control yourself when looking at the tap wall though, I highly recommend starting with the bottle beer... once you get through them, you'll earn rewards on oversized pours for the draft wall.  Otherwise, once you've done the draft wall, you don't get to benefit from the extra pourage since you're left with the bottles...

Best wings in Atlanta in my opinion. Friendly bartenders and the ultimate selection of beers.

My wife and I love this place. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is great!  Awesome atmosphere, great beer.  The all you can eat crab legs on Wednesday are great, we loved them. Never have had any bad meal here, one of my favorite places around here .Kids love it too..

I was a regular here for many years before I moved out of the county. I do come back with family and friends still, which is why we came here the other night.

I am a fan of Taco Mac, though I always save a spot in my heart for Summits (this location only). Why? The bar has the most beer on tap, an alcoholic could stand there in awe looking at the wall of beer and liquor. They still have pint night on select days, drink the beer and keep the glass on the beer of the night. This is the reason I have an extensive beer glass collection that takes up too much space in the kitchen cabinets. The portions are large so there's usually a take home box involved.

To me, the wings taste the same as Taco Mac and Roosters, but I prefer to get the hot chicken tenderloins to avoid the whole messing with bones process. I recommend eating everything here, except for the fajitas and the onion rings. I absolutely LOVE onion rings, and I didn't think they could be messed up, but Summits managed to pull it off which is the whole reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. The menu says they use a beer batter, though it is crumbly and flaky and sort of has the consistency of a cornbread batter. It's just not how I like my onion rings, and I've tried them more than once to make sure. The house salad has honey mustard pretzel pieces instead of croutons and is delicious.

The TM bells on the outside of the building still chime every 15 minutes.
