The unpretentious breakfast joint. Â
A rarity it seems in the age of concept heavy strip mall restaurants.  Sun Rise Cafe is a classic greasy spoon with all the dishes you would expect to see.  I came here searching for my self-destructive breakfast obsession, chicken fried steak.  There's come with  a nice white creamy sausage gravy that just screams 'please plug up my arteries now!'. Oh but its so tasty, stick to your ribs stuff.  I wish the size were a little bigger but that's probably a good thing.  It comes with a side of hash browns which were sufficiently extra crispy as requested and two sunny side up eggs with toast.  My coffee cup was never empty and I felt the service to be personable and friendly.  Kind of makes me want to be a regular.   Their hours are pretty limited 6am to 9pm week days (be sure to call). Also weekends (be sure to call) Which is limited, I wish they were open for late night foraging.
Yelp note: I know that reviewing a place, after it has received a few reviews cases it to loose it's 'cool' factor. But I did order something other than what others had.
I concur with Patty N's review...a very nice, locally owned and run place with reasonably priced, good food. Â
I just went there for breakfast this morning (Sunday, 2/27/11) with some friends. Â I had the "Two eggs & bacon or sausage links (with hash browns and toast or pancakes)" for $5.39. Â (I had sausage links and raisin toast...the sausages were slightly over browned, but the raisin toast was good). Â Service was good and fast, although the food was slightly cool.

They have a new address: 10230 Coldwater Rd., where the "Fish of Stroh" used to be, near the "A+ Computers", "Great Wall II Buffet", and "Rustic Hutch", and "License Bureau".
ALSO: They do have free Wi-Fi. Â The passcode is their new phone number 260-416-0400 (without the dashes "-").

Their current hours are Mon-Sat 6:00AM-9:00PM, Sun 6:00AM-3:00PM
This restaurant recently relocated to a larger space in the Pine Valley shopping center, so service was a little on the slow side, but give them a little time and it will pick up. Â The menu has expanded from just breakfast and lunch items since they are now open until 9:00 pm. Â Among other added menu items, they have shrimp, steak, roast beef and turkey manhattens, beef and noodles over mashed potatoes, pork chops, fried chicken and fish, and to my delight a great grilled tilapia. Â I love the comfort food that they are serving - but being able to order a healthy grilled tilapia dinner for only $9.99 is awesome. All of their prices are very reasonable. Â They usually have a nightly special that includes 2 side items. Â Sun Rise staff is soooo friendly. Â You really feel like family here. Â The owner is very attentive to the quality of food that is being served and has made good choices in the expansion of their menu. Â They are located in the midst of a pizza place and Chinse, Mexican and Italian restaurants . Â They are not trying to be any of these other places, but are trying to be just themselves. Â I can't get this good all american comfort food at any of these other places, and they are not trying copy the other local establishments -if I want Chinese, I will go to the Chinese place and so on. Â They have hired extra staff, which is much needed due to the larger space and expanded hours. Â They have a room in the back that is opened on the weekend mornings, and that can seat larger partys, or perhaps even host a private event? Â They have their usual breakfasts that are served all day, and 2 soups on the menu that change daily. Â I am so glad this place expanded - I can come here after work and get a good meal for a very reasonable price and enjoy the companionship of my fellow diners and the staff. Â They really appreciate their customers and it shows. Â I like to support a locally owned restaurant that appreciates my business.
