I would comment on the food, but we never actually got to eat. We sat at our table for 15 minutes with multiple employees walking past staring at us and no one ever even came to say hello or take our drink order. The owner stands around behind the counter screaming at the employees for not working.....it's just awkward. Go somewhere else.
Review Source:I've been coming here since I was BORN. Every summer we go out of our way to come to Sunny Hunny for breakfast/brunch.
Yes, they do serve in paper cups. It has never been different.
Paper plates? I don't know what thats about, probably a busy day.
Yes, they do tend to overcharge a bit lately too.
But this place has quality food, generally quick too. I rather spend money here than go to some Perkins chain. Sunny Hunny is a Jersey Shore classic, and I wouldnt trade it for any other.
They have a ton on the menu to choose from, which again hasn't changed since I was young. You've got an excellent choice of pancake styles all of which come in large portions, sometimes you can't finish. They have cereal, oatmeal, all kinds of egg variants and egg Benedict. For the healthy people they have special wheat pancakes with Whey Protein mixed in, and quite an excellent Whey Protein shake as well if you choose.
Oh and "bottomless" coffee for $1.60. Probably the best deal in the place because sadly, drink refills are charged and can add up.
On Sundays they have Winnie the Poo, Elmo, and Tiger outside. Kids love it! Not the best character actors, but its a tradition kept since the early 1990s.
This place has not changed. And I think thats a great thing. Too many classic restaurants try to change how they are.
Try to ignore the waving Winnie the Pooh and Elmo outside. Â Don't worry about the diner style tables and paper cups on the inside. Â Instead, focus your 'adult' attention on the 'Benedicts' section of the menu, and create your own private breakfast goodness bubble, and marvel as the screaming brats (other peoples kids) fade away. Â Eggs Benedict with fried eggplant instead of a muffin, and a perfectly eggsecuted egg with a deliciously runny yoke, served with crispy hash browns. Â What's not to like at under 10 bucks!
