The beach/tiki bar theme is good for a summer evening drink, but the food is mediocre at best and the table service (at least on the evening I was there) was miserable.  After waiting a half-hour (for no apparent reason since the place was dead), we practically had to beg to get a waitress to take our order.   Layer that on top of the dirty port-o-potty bathrooms and its just hard to give this place a strong seal of approval for anything other than the beach atmosphere.

    Delusional.
The place itself is amazing, the atmosphere idyllic.
But definitely do NOT go for dinner, overpriced for very small portions.
It's nice for a drink though.

Wow I can't believe this place has so few stars?!

What ever security issues that they might have had in the beginning, they have fixed in my opinion. The gate guys were nice enough, even though my license was expired. I do feel bad for them trying to keep us drunks out of that pond at night, I don't know what it is about drinking near a water but I's hard to resist the urge to run into that bad boy. I'm sure just before last call you screamed  "Last one ins a rotten egg! It would trigger a massive chain reaction. For some reason very time I spontaneously go for a swim while I'm drunk I still get caught surprise by all of the problems of being soaking wet with no towel.

The pizza was very good, far better then 9 out of ten bar pizzas. The steamers were extra fresh and the order size was a great portion.

It's not dirt cheep, but I think your for sure getting a good value and a very hard to find atmosphere for this area. Plus love it or hate it we only get so many warm summer nights around here, I'm not going to waste mine indoors not surrounded with beach sand, tiki lights, and people cool enough to realize how great this place is.

Ugh. I'm really torn on this review.

On the one hand, if you have kids and want to take them to a pond with free parking and no charge for getting to the water while you have a few drinks at the bar, this is probably a five star place.

However, if you don't have kids and you go to the tiki bar for a night out with friends for dinner and drinks...it's pretty rough.

The atmosphere is GREAT! They have lawn games, sandy beach like areas, and live islandy (it's a word now) music, but that's pretty much where the goodness stops.

I went with three other people. When we got there we were told it was an hour wait for a table so we went to the bar to grab a drink. The bartenders were moving so slow it took us almost a half hour to get one drink. When our table was ready, it took about 15 minutes before a waitress came over. She took a drink order, brought them  back and we didn't see her again for half an hour. We each had steamers for dinner and all four orders came out cold. We didn't complain about that and ate them anyway and the service just got worse from then on out.

The waitress disappeared for 30 minutes at a time, never checking to see if we needed anything. We ended up having to go to the bar to order drinks even though we were seated at a table with a waitress...

The drinks were strong, but sometimes so strong they were tough to drink and everything was pricy. Drinks ranged between 7 and 9 dollars...this is Westford, not Boston.

Overall, this place has GREAT potential but they really need to get it together when it comes to service and quality for their prices.  I would possibly go back on a weeknight for drinks but never again on a weekend or for food.

I went to the Sunset Tiki Bar tonight with my husband and 5 yo twins.  We loved it!  I was nervous given all the bad reviews, but wanted to see it for myself.  I think that if you go with the right mind set, the place can be fantastic.  Don't go there for a fancy night out.  Go there if you want to chill, take your time, have a tasty drink with your toes in the sand, and have an experience, as opposed to just going out for dinner.  We stuck with basic, lower priced entrees.  For me, the atmosphere is geared more towards things like burgers and not the more expensive entrees.  There was nice live music, friendly service, a beach and a playground for the kids, grown-up games, and good drinks and good food.  Perfect night out!

We went on a Friday night and arrived just after 5:30 PM.  We were there for two hours.  There was a steady flow of  people arriving all evening.  The people checking IDs on the way in were very friendly.  We were helped immediately to a table and given our choice of where to sit.  It did take awhile for someone to take our drink order, but the waitress was quite nice and seemed to be working hard, covering several tables.  The drinks and nachos came quickly and were good. While waiting for the drinks I took the kids over to the beach area to play for a few minutes in the water.  There were lots of kids having fun swimming in the pond.  There was a coffee-house style singer performing.  She was very good and pleasant to listen to.  Nachos were loaded and yummy.  We ordered our meals about 10 minutes after the nachos arrived, by our choice.  The meals came quickly and we were happy with them.  My husband had a burger, cooked with a nice char on the outside and medium-rare inside, just as he ordered.  I had the BBQ pork sliders and they were tasty.  The sliders were a small entrée, but after the nachos I didn't want to have a large item.  The kids menu had several nice choices.  Our twins had the pizza (two nice sized slices) and hotdog.  No complaints from them!  Between the nachos and the entrées I took the kids to the play area where there is a nice playground for kids, and lots of things for adults (cornhole, volley ball, bocce, and other games.)  There are a lot of bugs, but you have to expect that in a wooded, swampy area in the summer.  This shouldn't detract from the rating.  We were prepared and had covered ourselves and the kids with bug spray before going in.  The Adirondack style chairs are awkward for eating, but nice for relaxing in before and after eating.  Some other reviewers commented that there are only port-a-potties, but there are indoor bathrooms just across the parking lot - it takes about 30 seconds of additional walking to cross the parking lot to get to them.  I can't see how this could be considered a problem.  After dinner  we paid the bill and took the kids and our drinks over to the play area.  The kids had fun running and playing with other kids while my husband and I played cornhole and finished our drinks.  We will definitely return!

I took my elderly parents there on a Monday night, we got there around 8:00.  They tried to be as accommodating as possible, a young lady went and got them normal chairs since my mom couldn't get up on the chairs in the bar section and they had adirondack chairs in the sandy part where we sat. Wasn't crazy about these chairs, they're ok for sitting and drinking and people watching but not for eating.  It wasn't quite what we expected, the photos on the website look different.  But it's a fun concept, it was family night so people brought their kids and they can go swimming in the little pond up until sunset.  There are also volleyball nets and other games, and a stage for karaoke and live bands, those are on other nights.

It was pretty quiet once all the families left.  When the sun went down the mosquitoes arrived in full force which is to be expected on a summer night and near water, so bring bug spray.  Also we were the only people sitting in the sandy area so if there were more humans to feast upon maybe we wouldn't have been swarmed so ferociously.  Our waitress borrowed some from Security so thankfully we had to stop waving them away and scratching our ankles.  It would be nice if they had citronella torches all along the water near the tables; it would also help with the ambiance. And make it feel more tropical.

The drinks were good, I got a raspberry lemonade which had rum in it I think, it was delicious but expensive, $8 or $9.  My friend ordered a coconut drink and she got a small plastic cup with no ice.  She asked for some ice and finally had to go get it herself because the waitress was slow.  The food was pretty good, I had a marinated grilled chicken sandwich, it was tasty.  My friend got the grilled turkey tips which was one of the $12 specials, came with corn on cob, potato salad and ice cream. I tasted the turkey and it was delicious.  They could be a little more generous with the potato salad and the ice cream, although she did bring all of us ice cream even though 2 of us didn't order from the specials menu and didn't charge for the extra ice creams. Oh and if you're expecting regula r potato salad with mayo this isn't it.  It's more like German potato salad. Skins left on and no mayo.  Tasted good tho.

At the end a very nice young man drove my mom back to the car in a golf cart.  I didn't see any problem with security or cops or bouncers but it was a quiet Mon night so it may be different on the weekend.  I plan on going back with a few friends on a Friday night and seeing how it is with music and more people. And I'll bring bug spray for sure!

I didn't love this place enough to want to return anytime soon.

Love the concept; it's definitely a way for Nashoba Valley Ski Center to make money during the summer months. They definitely have a nice atmosphere with the tiki theme and live music (and there's no cover charge, which is a bonus.) But the food needs some help...I went with a large party of women last night, and one of them requested her hamburger to be well done. Well, I could see from across the table that it was medium rare and fairly pink...definitely not well done. She sent it back and when they returned, half of the burger was missing as well as her potato chips, which she really wanted! Another woman had grilled salmon that was served with okra of all things. It (the okra) looked dreadful...really slimy, which is what she said it was and she didn't eat it. How about broccoli or asparagus with salmon? What kind of a restaurant serves boiled okra?

That's about it...I didn't witness any of the bouncer problems that others have experienced.

It goes from bad to worse so I'll start at the beginning.

Everyone gets carded, even middle aged guys like myself.  I have been in 100+ bars and restaurants in the past ten years and this is the only place I have ever been carded.  That is ridiculous.

They scan your ID.  Yes, scan it.

The bartending in completely amateur.  These bartenders wouldn't last 5 minutes in Boston.  Be prepared for a long wait at the bar.  Don't even think about ordering a mixed drink.

The beer was flat and not nearly as cold as it should have been.

The waitresses are clueless.  We sat at a table for over 3 hours and not one waitress asked us if we wanted another drink.  Even when our cups were empty.  When we wanted a drink we had to go to the bar.

The police presence is completely over the top.  They walk through the seating and bar area regularly and act like they would cuff you in a second.

The bathrooms are porta potties so don't go on a warm night.  There are regular bathrooms across the parking lot and up a flight of stairs but it's a little bit of a walk and you have to run the gauntlet of cops and bouncers by the entrance.

Probably one of the most dreadful experiences I've ever had.

I will never go back to this place and wouldn't even recommend it to my enemies.

Where to start...I suppose Ill start with the good.  The place has a lot of potential in that it has good ambiance for a tiki bar.  Thats it.

    The bad
-If you enjoy hanging out in a detritus ridden morass of sand that feels more like a redneck litter box complete with herpetitus p.

-there is no draft beer after 10pm

-The canned(no glass) selection goes from bland all the way to blah.

-there are more cops there than police station and they wander through the bar area giving everyone the stink eye like theres about to be a drug bust.

-it takes an act of congress to get the waitress to admit that food was indeed being served, and then we ended up getting nachos then about 20 minutes lates finally getting a menu(only 1 for the whole table) and finding that the tiny plate just set me back 14 dollars.  Also a can(no bottles) of corona was 5 dollars.

There could have been more to await us but that was when we had to hound our waitress for a check(which took 15 minutes) and then we were on our way glad to be free of that place.

TLDR: It sucks hot frothy donkey balls

To begin my review I will start with a beautiful quote:

"WOW you look pissed off." - Sunset Tiki Bouncer number 1

AWESOME!  I will certainly agree that the bouncers are a bit harsh.  However, I had a really good laugh and dragged out my id.  I also showed them that when I zone out I look seriously angry.  Which, clearly, I am not.  *feel free to scroll up to the four stars of not pissedoffness*

A group of us decided to swing by here for some drinks.  The atmosphere is great.  They have two large bar areas, plenty of seating and tables and a stage for live entertainment.  The bartenders and servers work hard to make sure your glass is full and your table is clear of clutter.  There were a few groups of people near by just hanging out, drinking and playing cards.

I had the Sangria and it was quite delicious.  If you are going to go to a place with Tiki you should expect Tacky.  Tiki.  Tacky.  Tiki.  Tacky!  SO...please make sure you repeat that a few times before wandering in.  It is straight out of a Jimmy Buffett tailgate in New England and I loved every second of it.

There are bathrooms across the parking lot. You don't have to use the outdoor ones if you don't want to.

The band kind of sucked in a good way too.  So bad it was good?  Yup.  Kind of like trolls.  So ugly they are cute.  That is the sunset tiki for you!

The Sunset Tiki Bar is a case where expectation does not meet reality.  The concept is fantastic!  Chairs in the sand, live music outside, and two bars to choose from.  However, the chairs are few so many are left to stand around in the sand.  The music was fine, but it seemed that he wold play a few songs and then take a break, giving the apperience that there were more breaks than music.  We put our name in for a table, even though there were open tables all around us, we had to wait a good 90 minutes for a table, and this is what hurt, just cause we got to sit at a table, did not mean that we got a server to take our order, we still had to go to the bar to get our drinks!  About an hour later, a waitress came by and asked if we were being helped.  I told her that we would like to order nachos but if the wait is anything like the table or the service, we arent interested.  She said no, and we got our nachos in a flash.  But then and hour or two later, we had to track her down to get our check.  Honestly we could have left without even paying and no one would have noticed!  Maybe it was an off night at the Tiki Bar.  I doubt it.  I think that the place is mis-managed and unorganized.  Will I return?  Maybe, where else can I have a drink in the sand in the Boston burbs?  But the next time I will set my standards low and expect less and maybe I wont be so disappointed.

The Tiki Bar is a cool idea for a place in Westford. I didn't get any food but I've heard it's really good. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed and my drink was a little expensive, but strong. I think this is a good place to catch up with friends if you live around the area and are returning during summer breaks from college. Though, there were people there of all ages and they all seemed to be enjoying it. The music was really good too, they had a live cover guitarist who was surprisingly good.

My Gemini friend and I met at the Tiki Bar to celebrate our birthdays last week. Got there at 5:30. Lots of little kids running around the bar area which is next to the winter runoff pond/summer swimming hole. PLASTIC Adirondack chairs that sink into the sand and are difficult to get out of. Mediocre hamburger with chips. Tasty Painkiller rum concoction although undersized and overpriced. Portapotty toilets.

Great ambience for 20-30 somethings with children in tow. It's nice to relax outdoors with a brewski or a cocktail. Not very appealing for childless old geezers like us who've "been there done that".

I brought a date to the tiki bar last year to see the live band. The music was cool but it seemed like the place is crazy about security with a capital C. My date & I, both in our forties, decided to walk near the little pond they have there and before getting within 20 feet of the water were converged upon by security staff that were worried we would try to run into the water when no-one was paying attention. Never been to a beach bar where I was denied the pleasure of walking by the water. What an ambiance killer.

I have really mixed feelings about the Tiki Bar. The first time I went there was great. It was a long drive for me, out to literally the middle of nowhere. My friend from Chelmsford had heard about the bar but never been there and invited me to join him on his adventure. When we got there there was a line down the road to get in mostly made up of college aged kids with a few thirty-somethings mixed in.

We honestly had no idea to expect and when we got in it was kind of like a hidden oasis in the middle of suburbia. There are two bars, one is cash only and only serves beer and the other is a full bar. These are surrounded by "the beach" which is basically the runoff pool for the Nashoba ski hills. There is also a stage facing the bar which had a live DJ and in between this are numerous tables and Adirondack chairs. Behind the bar is an area with horseshoes, corn hole and numerous other beach drinking games.

If my review was based solely on the first time I went there it would be a five-star review, no doubt about it, but my additional visits showed me that the management had no idea how to sustain a decent bar.

The second time I visited the bar it was equally packed, but this time the cops showed up and told them they could not have live music after 11:30. This pretty much killed the night and most people left the bar after another 30 minutes.

The bar seemed to spiral out of control during the rest of the summer. I realized upon future visits that the security staff was actually insane, the majority of which are overweight hillbillies who are looking to relive their high school glory days by beating up some drunk kids. One time I saw a few staff member walk up to a kid at the bar who was minding his own business and yell "Hey! That's that kid who mouthed off to you last week!" then physically restrain him and throw him out of the bar. This seemed so absurd to me that I almost didn't believe it was happening.

The last time I went to the bar was early August. There was maybe 15 people at the bar and twice as many security guard milling about looking to crack some heads. Me and my friends saw this and turned around at the entrance, never to come back for the remainder of the summer.

I hope that this year when Tiki Bar reopens they learn from their mistakes. They need to tone back on the nazi security, let people have some fun. The first two or three weeks of business were absolutely popping last year and I might stop in to see if that happens again. I know that if I do go and it's anything like what it was during the second half of last summer I will never waste my time even thinking about this bar again.

Let's re-name this one the Sunset Tacky Bar.  All that's missing is the Jimmy Buffet impersonator.  The security guys at the gate are a bit much.  They want the name and address of everyone coming in, xeroxing your ID.  Now that's creepy.

Pretty outdoor setting on a sandy beach of a lake.  Epitome of a classic beach bar complete with Tiki Hut bar!

Relax on the Adirondack chairs with a drink in your hand and sand between your toes, listen to music, pull up a seat to watch the Sox games on the outside TV, play some volleyball, play cornhole, etc, etc!  Great place for groups!

Went here quite a few times this summer on beautiful weekday evenings for beers and entertainment only, not food.  Each time the place was nicely populated and festive with a fun crowd of all ages.  What a welcome addition to the area!

I kept forgetting I was in Westford and not at some beach vacation bar. Nicely done!

This does border a residential neighborhood, so hopefully all patrons are aware enough to be considerate and respectful regarding noise coming and going.

Tiki Bar is part of Nashoba. I love Nashoba. The manager is nice. Sorry the bar is a fail. Specifically, one of the bartenders, the one with tatoos thinks he is king bartender. Sorry he must not get enough tips. I asked for my third beer from him and he said 'Your cut off'. Then I asked "do i need to go to the bar across the sand". Him "Your done". Then I asked the manager, he gave me a freebie. Guess that tatooed bartender is a tough fail. Guess what not going back. It is simple service, provide it if not get out of Westford. Tatoo boy thinks he is hardcore, his tatooes look like they came from the same place his attitude came from NOWHERE.
