We had lunch here and really enjoyed it. Very quaint with beautiful scenery. I was really impressed with their Persian Chicken Salad; it has apricots, almonds and apples with curry mayo. Pair that with a frosty Bass ale and pow my taste buds are happy. Neat place to stop off the parkway!!
Review Source:My wife and I had an excellent experience here. The drive up was beautiful (and slightly nauseating) with the elevation change and sharp curves.
She had the Chef Salad with a cup of Baked Potato soup; both very tasty. I had the Trout BLT Croissant, with an appetizer Four-Cheese Quiche and a Highland Gaelic Ale to boot. We split a Lemon Berry cake for dessert - very moist and delicious!
The quaint and rustic surroundings of the Cafe made our meal all the better. Out the door, our meal was just over $40 (steep for a cafe lunch), but the experience was well worth it.
What drew me to eating here was the smell of BBQ after pulling off of the Blue Ridge to check out the town of Little Switzerland. Â The smell was amazing and I was starving. Since there was nothing around for miles, I followed my nose and gave it a try. Â The location is pretty cute and loaded with character from the outside. Â Once inside, the rustic character seems to fade but regardless, the food holds up to expectations.
I actually crave BBQ from this place so strongly that I have made the drive from Charlotte just to go here a few times now. Â I did get a good lesson the last time I visited: I learned that they can run out BBQ - so disappointing! Â I also learned that nothing else on the menu really appealed to me.
