Owners discriminate against bikers, do not support this establishment!

The trivia there on Thursday nights is the best around. Well drinks are cheap, so that helps too. The service is not super fast, but the place is usually packed when I'm there.

JUST HORRIBLE - Unprofessional- Dirty - Abusive

Can't imagine anyone wanting to come here after what Ive seen and heard from the staff and owner during my past few visits. Went one night and saw the most god-awful kareoke session - with the hosts ": friends" getting up twice as much as other patrons, him turning the voices down of patrons and turning himself up high.

The place was filthy and smelled horribly of stale booze and grease. The tables werent cleaned and the staff were nonchalant and " unavailable" My dealings with the newer owner were less than stellar, and he tried to insult and intimidate his way around the obvious facts of the matter.
Totally overpriced for the quality of food and service

This is the first time I ate at one of the Ruggiero owned restaurants and let me tell you what... I'd do it again in a heart beat!  This food was AMAZING and I don't use my caps lightly.  Forget about what people are saying about seasoning, texture, price, or quantity because I'm here to set the record straight and say they're full of it!  I'll throw down right now because that's how good my Crispy Chicken sandwhich with waffle fries was.  I live in VT but often find myself in the Albany area and from now on when I'm going out to eat if it's not owned by a member of the Ruggiero family I'm not spending my money, well unless it's Chinese since these guys don't sell Chinese but if they did I bet it'd be the BOMB.  If you want to fight me over this place, that's fine but let's meet outside so afterwards I can get another sandwich

The last time I was in this place I was about 6 years old and it was used as a child's dance studio! But again that was over 30 years ago - yet still inside my head I was thinking "shuffle-1, shuffle-2..."
The appearance on the inside is definitely designed like a man cave, it is dark, with poor lighting, lots of black and chrome and TVs everywhere. It did appear to be newer and clean and there was a wide variety of people from soccer moms to old men and young kids playing darts. The food was so damn generic that I really am not sure why anyone would go here for the food in specific - the hours and location would be a better reason. Boneless wings?? More like lil over fried chunks of chicken with more batter than meat - usual restaurant quality pre-fabricated drop in the fryer fare. With watery blue cheese dressing that was mayonnaise, milk, salt and pepper with a few hunks of cheese. The menu was pretty basic, and not cheap. Nothing that made me go - oh we should try that! More like well what won't suck? Their burger "special" for $5.99 included one plain burger w/cheese lettuce, onion, and tomato and okay fries. However because I requested mine with just cheese and grilled onions - they charged me $8.99... I will let that one sink in for just a second... I had ordered a Malibu Rum and coke which came out in a pint glass (not requested) and was consequently so weak that I wish I had just ordered a soda. The burgers were decent size as I was told there was no way to have it med-rare just a little pink (FROZEN!) and of course my suspicions were true. The uniformed perfect circle of flavorless gray patty appeared about 15min later. SALT & PEPPER people - If McDonalds can season their patties so can you! I can tell you there is no way I would waste money on a dinner entree from here. I had brought my husband home a small $10 pizza which was enough for only one person - for the same $10 I can order an 8-cut from the pizzeria around the corner. He thought the pizza was decent however he didn't have any other options. I will tell you that for 2 burgers, 2 bottles of beer, one rum and coke, and one small pizza our tab was $60 with tip! Next time I will convince my girlfriend to eat out at the grogge shoppe - where the beer is cheaper the drinks are cheaper the burgers are infinitely better and where on weds ANY burger on their menu is still only $5.00! And they are made by hand and cooked to your liking... Places like the Flightline are just bars that serve food any drinker will eat out of convenience. If they served the quality of food they are charging for then it would be somewhere to eat and have a drink. Just not somewhere I would go again.

I went to dinner here once with some friends.  While my friends think they wound up with an upset stomach after eating here, I experienced no such issues and had a nice tasting sausage sandwich and there was a decent selection of beers on tap.  This restaurant was remodeled last year, and I went after the remodeling, so it's a bigger place than it probably was before.

I am not sure where these bad reviews are from, but then again most people don't go online to write about their good experiences at restaurants, they only share their bad.  Therefore I will right about what MOST people experience at the Flight Line.

I have have never had a bad experience here.  I have gone well over two dozen times, and almost always have a great time.  The mixed drinks aren't cheap, but aren't crazy expensive either.  The beer selection is good (6 drafts, but they are adding 6 more) and a ton of bottled beer.  They have specials each night of the week and during football season.

The place was recently expanded to make room for the increasing number of people that go here (especially for Thursday Trivia!).  It is a great place to go with a group of people and a lot of times they have either live music or karaoke (which actually isn't bad, especially when Lenny sings!).

The food is outstanding.  The pizza is awesome and comes a variety of ways.  In addition, they have a variety of good salads.  The best thing by far is their afterburner wings.  They are first fried for half of the time, then taken out, tossed in hot sauce, and baked for the remainder of the time.  They take a little but longer to come out, but are definitely worth the wait.  Also, the homemade blue cheese dressing they come with is great.

I recommend everyone try the Flightline at least once, it is a great place to grab a quick bite, or hang for the night and drink with friends.

I read on meet up that they have blues some nights. I haven't gone for the music, but had lunch here recently.  I had the soup and also the Black and Bleu burger.  The burger was good, but had a fair amount of heat. No mention of heat on menu.  The Soup and ale were good too.  But, the service was better than passable and less than good.

In all, a good bar with food.

Mike W. must have had bad luck on his last visit. Been eating there with my wife regularly and never had a problem.

I recommend the buff. chicken fingers.  I gobble pounds of them and they aren't too spicy as to where they'll burn when you push them out the other side.

The inimitable T.J.'s Flight Line Pub:

When I first stopped in and even after a few more visits, I was singing the praises of this place. Good food, great burgers, the cheese and bacon waffle fries to die for. Then all of a sudden I stop in to a really crappy meal. They've changed to a cheaper, nacho-style cheese on the waffle fries rather than the shredded cheddar. I had to special request the cheddar and that seemed to rankle the waitress. Their Black and Blue burger used to come encrusted with Cajun spices and was wonderful, so hot and spicy! This time there was barely any spice applied and after mentioning to the waitress/bartender that it was bereft of spice, she told me that the cook said that he had put plenty on. Really!? Very disappointing.

The owner, T.J., stopped at the table, looked at the burger and agreed with me that there was not enough spice. He did ask if I'd like another, which I declined because at this point, we were all pretty well done with out meals. What he should have done was comp at least part of the cost of the burger but instead I ended up paying full-price for a meal that I only half ate. Very lame. It seems as if they are starting to get cheap with their ingredients already and the attitude is "I could care less, I really don't need your business". Does the waitress want folks to keep their mouths shut, tip crappy and not come back or does she want honest folks that tell her how it is, and tip well for good service and food?

I had high hopes for this place and told everyone how good it was. Now I find myself feeling pretty put out, mostly by the attitudes. In a conversation with my wife soon after, T.J. told her that the waitress thought I was a "whiner" and that he didn't need my business. That's a nice thing to say of a customer that used to sing your praises and bring you business! Well, if you don't need me, I sure as hell don't need you T.J.! Rest assured that I'll be putting out the word to stay away! There you have it folks, if you voice a complaint or the bartender/waitress thinks you're a whiner, they just don't need your business. What this guy really needs is the business acumen of his father. Tony Ruggiero would have handled this like the pro he is, while his son seems to need a few more lessons at his father's side in what it takes to run a successful business.
